Under Iran’s theocratic regime, Christians – especially converts from Islam – already face severe restrictions and opposition. The country is number nine on the World Watch List, and Iranian believers are often viewed as Western-influenced ‘threats to the state’. Persecution includes long prison sentences for ordinary house church members for the vaguely worded charge of ‘acting against national security by connecting with ‘Zionist’ Christian organisations’. With tensions now erupting between Iran and Israel, experts warn that Iranian Christians will be even more targeted with suspicion and repression.
“Instead of protecting the people, the Iranian government is now arresting anyone caught taking or sharing photos and videos with news outlets,” shares Morteza*, an Iranian Christian. “Christians are especially vulnerable, as they risk being accused of espionage and deemed a threat to national security. If their faith is discovered, the consequences are far worse.”
Despite the pain, the church in Iran, Israel, the Palestinian Territories and the wider region continue to place their trust and hope in Jesus. They are urging us to join with them in prayer for wisdom for all leaders in the region, comfort and strength for everybody caught up in this crisis – particularly Christians vulnerable to increased persecution – and, above all, for lasting peace.
Please join this prayer, shared by an Open Doors senior advisor: “Lord of peace and justice, we cry out to You amid this escalating conflict. Comfort those injured and grieving in Iran and Israel. Restrain the hands of violence, give wisdom to leaders and protect the innocent. Let Your mercy break through the chaos. We pray for an immediate ceasefire, healing for the wounded civilians, and divine restraint over further military escalation between Israel and Iran. In Jesus’ name, amen.”

I see plenty of crucifixes around the necks of local Israelis in Tel Aviv.
Indeed, the singularly most motivated guy in the IDF I’ve met over the course of seven weeks was Najib, an Arab Christian. That guy was a freaking dynamo workaholic. I think he was a civilian contractor.
I asked him, “Why are you working so hard and so motivated?”
“I’m a Christian, and Israel is very good for me and my family. Anywhere else around here I would be in serious trouble.”
(paraphrasing, due to my imperfect recollection and the translation from the Arabic through the Jew to this guy …)
“ As of the end of 2022, approximately 185,000 Israeli citizens are Christian, making up 1.9% of the total population. Of these, 75.8% (about 140,000) are Arab Christians, who constitute 6.9% of the Arab-Israeli population.”

The participation in this thread is extremely telling. No one cares... All that matters is the total and complete destruction of Islam and any residual Christian casualties are completely acceptable collateral damage.
This “Jew” (see About page) over here is concerned about all the casualties of Islam’s war with everyone else. Arab and Persian Christians, Zoroastrians, Hindus, Atheists, African Animists, etc. We’re all in the same boat: targeted for murder by the totalitarian death cult.
Some years ago I was at a Voice of the Martyrs weekly chapel hour where they had an Iranian house church planter. The leader spoke of how there had been many suspicious deaths of house church leaders in Iranian over the previous year, mostly involving “motorbike accidents.” Of course nothing could be proven, and they couldn’t just go to the local police and ask “So, when you found Youssef’s body and bike at the bottom of the ravine, was that really an accident?” Still the house church movement has spread strongly over the years, helped by internet and satellite connections.
If you were so concerned about it, why did you call people worried about it “concern troll” right here?...

Do you see how I just accurately quoted you and provided the link to what you said? That was able to happened because I am confident in my opinion and I don’t feel the need to lie or embellish to try and persuade people.
If you had the ability to feel shame you would probably realize that making up fake quotes and putting them in your tagline makes you look foolish and is a really bad look.
Fortunately, you are incapable of that so you will continue to do it for all to see.
Blah blah.
“We’re all in the same boat: targeted for murder by the totalitarian death cult.”
You are way ahead of 99% of humanity with that... It is like steeping outside the Antfarm.
Concern Troll Alert!
In this very thread, Nitzy proves my charge that he is a “Concern Troll” by not caring a bit about the victims (Christians) or the perpetrators (Muslims) of murder, but immediately redirects his attention to the available non-involved Jew (me in this small case). This is identical to his repetitive charges that the Christians murdered by muslims in Syria (and often elsewhere) are Jews’ fault.
In this very thread, I demonstrate repeated affinity and concern for Christians (#s 2,3) murdered at muslim hands (5). Nitzy demonstrates no such actual affinity or concern for Christians, but does attack the only Jew in the room.
A cursory review that we should all make of Nitzy’ postings will demonstrate to the casual reader that Nitzy is vastly concerned about Jews to exclusion of virtually any other topic. In separate reviews of his most recent 50 postings in December and last week, I found 66% and 60% anti-Semitic posts. Everyone should go read his posting history to form their own opinions, as I am surely sensitive on the topic.
Indeed, I recall no example in any of Nitzy’s hundreds of posts of how he condemns muslims’ murder Christians. Not once.
I recall no example of Nitzy being concerned about muslims murdering tens of thousands of Christians in Nigeria, as I have. But there is no plausible Jew to blame in Nigeria, so he is silent.
Here we are in a thread about Christians at risk in Iran. Has he expressed a concern for them? An antipathy for their prospective murderers? Nope! He attacks the Jew.
When muslims murder Christians and Jews across Europe, Nitzy is silent. There is no Jew available to blame, apparently.
Has nitzy ever even once condemned the muslim murder of Christians? Not in the several hundred posts of his that I have read. But he repeatedly blames the Jews when a muslim murders a Christian.
I dare anyone to find in his posting history a common secondary topic that motivates Nitzy. Liberals? Nope. Deep State? Nope. Globalism? Nope. Trade Policy? Nope. Immigration? Nope. Fiscal Policy? Nope. Nothing.
But he’s definitely got it in for the Jews.
Nitzy is demonstrably only concerned about muslims murdering Christians when he can find some angle with which to BLAME THE JEWS! In exactly that way everywhere and always, Nitzy demonstrates he is not concerned about Christians actually but only how he can manage to turn that into an indictment of Jews. He uses Christians’ deaths as a stalking horse for his real concern, Jews.
In exactly that way originally, continually and even in this thread, Nitzy demonstrates himself as a:
CONCERN TROLL!
Otherwise, y’all have a nice day!
:-)
lol….So YOU are the real victim in all of this.
I was simply reading an article and saw a fictional quote in your tagline attributed to me. I wasn’t commenting on the article. I was commenting on you.
Have a nice day!
I’d have to agree. When I volunteered earlier this year, some of the most dedicated and committed IDF volunteers were christians who believe that the survival of Israel is important for the entire world.
You too.
You seem to be very interested in my non-Israel opinions so I will tag you from now on when I comment on a non-Israel related topic.
As I’m sure you remember me telling you before….I agree with most of the other posters on FR on almost all other issues so there isn’t much to add to the conversation aside from cracking a joke or two or pointing out some aspect that I think is being missed. Israel happens to be one topic where I see a lot of FReepers getting wrong so I voice my opinion.
Just plain old DU troll.
Israel will survive because God will ensure that.’
According to Scripture prophecy, they still have a tough time ahead of them, but God will come through for them and fulfill all His promises to them that He made throughout history.
Anyone who names the name of Christ and opposes the Jews is wrong. They’re either not Christian or VERY deceived and God will have to deal with them to straighten them out.
Are we having fun yet?
Something dawned on me…
I have tried to explain this to you a couple times and you never understood but here goes one more try….
My Lord was a Jew and he spoke to his Jewish disciples in parables. Maybe you will get it this way…
I have a flock of chickens and a dog. Sometimes we let our chickens out in the yard to free range. The problem is that the dog doesn’t understand not to kill them so when they are out in the yard we leave him on a lead in the yard.
One day the dog had diarrhea and wanted to keep going out and then coming back in. He would whine at the door, my son would let him out, he would do his business and then start barking to come back in but minutes later would be whining at the door again. My son was playing video games and was getting annoyed at having to keep stopping so he said….”I’m just going to let the dog outside and not put him on the lead.”
I said, “No don’t do that.” and then went about my business.
My son either didn’t understand the importance of not putting the dog on the lead or he didn’t really care and he made the decision to not listen to me.
He let the dog outside and it killed a chicken.
Who do you think I was most upset at?
The first object of my anger was MYSELF for not sufficiently explaining why he shouldn’t just let the dog outside and what a terrible decision that would be.
The second object of my anger was my son. He knew the risks of the decision he was making but the safety of the chickens was less of a priority than his game.
The third object of my anger was the dog. Yes, he killed my chicken but he was acting how dogs act.
If I were to anticipate innocent Christians or Americans being killed due to the destabilization of nations in the ME and said nothing, I would be angry with myself.
Israel is like my son. If Israel prioritizes their regional goals over the lives of the innocent Christians, I am angry with them.
The Muslims are like the dog. They are 3rd world savages who are acting like 3rd world savages. Of course they are not blameless in these tragedies but nobody is surprised at what they are doing.
Israel is supposedly an enlightened 1st world culture so naturally I would expect them to act accordingly.
I hope this helps but I assume that it won’t.
You seem to be laboring under the misapprehension that we are somehow having a conversation. We are not. Let me help.
I don’t read what you post to me. I read your anti-Semitic drivel that you post for general consumption, and make sure everyone knows exactly who you are. Then, they can safely ignore you. :-)
I had to make that point to hardspunned last month. Some 2 or 3 weeks later, he got the ZOT in glorious fashion, #89 here:
