Water, Rivers, and Streams in the Bible
Deuteronomy 8:15-18

15 He led you through the vast and dreadful wilderness, that thirsty and waterless land, with its venomous snakes and scorpions. He brought you water out of hard rock. 16 He gave you manna to eat in the wilderness, something your ancestors had never known, to humble and test you so that in the end it might go well with you. 17 You may say to yourself, “My power and the strength of my hands have produced this wealth for me.” 18 But remember the Lord your God, for it is he who gives you the ability to produce wealth, and so confirms his covenant, which he swore to your ancestors, as it is today.

Almighty and Eternal God,
How Excellent is Your Most Holy Name!
How Glorious and How Wonderful You Are,
And How Righteous and Just!
For You Alone Are Worthy to be Praised And Worshiped.

Let all that has been Concealed

My sister just got a "new" car. It only has 54,000 miles on it, so it's still considered "new". It's a beautiful shade of Wedgwood Blue and has a black leather interior. It also has a built-in Nanny.

While some of the Nanny's features are helpful, like a back-up camera and GPS, there are other features that rub me the wrong way. Little notices like "Hello", "Goodbye", Check Your Back Seat", and "I agree with and will obey all the Traffic Laws" annoy me. Does this car think I'm stupid? Grrrrr. I guess I shall have to put another 120,000 miles on my 2012 SUV. While the back-up camera and the GPS are nice to have, I've been driving for over 50 years without them.

Modern Cars give new meaning to the old TV Show "My Mother, The Car".

My sister's car is really nice, and she's very happy with it, so I'll just keep my mouth shut about the Nanny Features. If I want to go "Wild In The Streets", I can always ride my Harley. No Nanny Features on that hunk of iron!

There were many times that Moses felt as though God had appointed him the Nanny for nearly three million people. No matter how basic and reasonable the Law was (especially the Ten Commandments), the people continued to stray. And, no matter how many amazing Miracles of Provision and Guidance God provided, they still complained.

I guess I'm no different. "Hello" and "Goodbye", are just polite. "Check Your Back Seat" could save a child's life. "I agree with the laws and will obey them" is just good sense.

I suppose we ALL need a reminder from time to time.
