🇺🇸Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem 🇮🇱(6/14/25)[Prayer]

Water, Rivers, and Streams in the Bible
Deuteronomy 2:2-7
2 Then the Lord said to me, 3 “You have made your way around this hill country long enough; now turn north. 4 Give the people these orders: ‘You are about to pass through the territory of your relatives the descendants of Esau, who live in Seir. They will be afraid of you, but be very careful. 5 Do not provoke them to war, for I will not give you any of their land, not even enough to put your foot on. I have given Esau the hill country of Seir as his own. 6 You are to pay them in silver for the food you eat and the water you drink.’”
7 The Lord your God has blessed you in all the work of your hands. He has watched over your journey through this vast wilderness. These forty years the Lord your God has been with you, and you have not lacked anything.

Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem

Almighty and Eternal Father,
How Glorious and Wonderful You Are!
Your Magnificence and Perfection are Overwhelming.
And yet, even more so,
Your Justice, Your Righteousness,
and Your Profound Holiness!
For It is You Who Made All That Exists,
From the Mightiest Galaxies to the Tiniest Atom.
You Know Us Inside and Out.
Our Hearts and Thoughts belong to You.
For You Alone Are Worthy,
You Alone Are LORD,
You Alone Are The One True God of Abraham,
and Indeed of ALL People.
Your Promises and Precepts are Eternal.
Your Judgments and Word are Forever True.
There is No Shadow of Turning With You.
You Are Faithful Even When We Are Not.
You ARE The Truth.
Let God be True, and every man be a liar.
Let others choose whom they may serve,
but as for me and my house,
We Shall Serve You, Abba.
And in serving YOU,
We Choose to Believe and Obey Your Word.
Let all that has been Concealed
Be Revealed.
Father, We Pray For The Peace Of Jerusalem,
According To Your Will and Promise.
We Pray That You Will Forgive The Sins
of Our Own Nation,
and Lead us all to Godly Repentance.
Create in Us Clean Hearts, Oh LORD,
and Renew a Right Spirit Within Us.
This we Pray Together,
As We Await Your Messiah,
Blessed Be He,
To Set Up His Kingdom,
And Make All Things Right.
”The Greatest Of these Is Love.”
If you would like to be on or off the Daily Ping List, please let me know.

Six years ago, I old this story as an illustration of Solomon's Wealth:
(From 6/8/19)
I decided to use a small area in the yard next to my house for off-street parking. This was fine while the weather was good, but the minute it began to rain, it became a sea of mud. Spinning my wheels and backing in and out, I soon churned up horrible ruts which froze into chunky icy ridges and made a big mess. Several people said they would help me, but all of them were just "blowing smoke" and left me with my muddy ruts. So after three years of spinning my wheels and broken promises, I finally went to the quarry and asked about crushed stone.
The clerk at the Quarry listened patiently to my tale of woe, the dimensions of the driveway, my desire for a nice thick layer of crushed stone (in this case, our native granite) and he calculated that I would need x-amount of cubic yards amounting to FOUR AND A HALF TONS. Delivered by a huge dump truck, this would cost $133.00.
"That's it????" I exclaimed, "You mean I've been suffering all this time spinning my wheels and being disappointed by loud-mouthed blowhards who promise everything but do nothing, for the sake of $133.00????"
The Quarry guy said I would have to rake out and level the stone myself, but that's the story of my life, and how everything always ends up anyway. A quick swipe with the credit card, and I went home to wait for the truck.
The dump truck arrived just as I had finished leveling off the ground and laying down fabric barrier. The driver helped me finish laying down the fabric and then dumped four and a half TONS of crushed granite onto the ground in a huge pile. Then he tipped his hat and drove away.
My sister and B-I-L came over with their rakes, and the three of us senior citizens raked raked raked all afternoon. I finally have a DRIVEWAY! HUZZAH!
OK...what does this have to do with today's reading?
Long before Solomon was even a gleam in his father's eye, his ancestors were making their way into the Promised Land. This was after over 400 years of slavery in Egypt, and another 40 years of wandering in the desert. During that time, God provided for the people, with manna, water, and general good health. God also gave them laws regarding food, sanitation, and civil matters to keep the peace. Moses, under the Inspiration of The Holy Spirit, chronicled all these events into what we now call The Torah, or The First Five books of the Bible. Liberal scholars may dispute the authorship of the Torah, but Jesus Himself called Moses the author, and I'll take His word for it.
There are a number of people in the Bible, especially in the Book of Genesis, who seem to come to a "Dead End". Ishmael, Esau, Lot's grandsons (from a very disturbing story), and some other long-lost relatives make the book of Genesis look like God doesn't care about these people. Yet, as we see in the Book of Exodus, God does care about them, and the generations that followed.
These people were granted their own land and cities, and God recognized their sovereignty and borders. When the Israelites needed to pass through those areas, they were instructed by God to ask permission, stick to the main road, and pay for any food or water they needed. It was the sovereign right of the property-owners to say "Yes" or "No".
Just as I wouldn't dream of parking on somebody else's lawn, or pick their vegetables without permission, or even cut through their yard without asking, I expect the same courtesy from my neighbors as well.
This little passage actually has a lot to say about God's Love and Provision, even for those who don't know Him.
However, it also says something about hospitality and the consequences for the lack of it. Those who were inhospitable to the Israelites became known for it, and would never be friends, even to this day.
However, there is also a glimmer of hope, even for those nations. King David's great Grandmother was from Moab. Her name was Ruth, and there's a whole book in the Bible dedicated to her story.
Come and Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem, For Our FRiends in Need, For Persecuted Believers, and For Our Beloved Nation.
”Let us acknowledge the LORD; let us press on to acknowledge him. As surely as the sun rises, he will appear; he will come to us like the winter rains, like the spring rains that water the earth.” (Hosea 6:3 NIV)

Psalm 54
To the leader: with stringed instruments. A Maskil of David, when the Ziphites went and told Saul, ‘David is in hiding among us.’
1 Save me, O God, by your name,
and vindicate me by your might.
2 Hear my prayer, O God;
give ear to the words of my mouth.
3 For the insolent have risen against me,
the ruthless seek my life;
they do not set God before them.
Selah
4 But surely, God is my helper;
the Lord is the upholder of* my life.
5 He will repay my enemies for their evil.
In your faithfulness, put an end to them.
6 With a freewill-offering I will sacrifice to you;
I will give thanks to your name, O Lord, for it is good.
7 For he has delivered me from every trouble,
and my eye has looked in triumph on my enemies.
