🇺🇸Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem 🇮🇱(6/8/25)[Prayer]

Water, Rivers, and Streams in the Bible
Numbers 20:1-13

Water From the Rock

20 In the first month the whole Israelite community arrived at the Desert of Zin, and they stayed at Kadesh. There Miriam died and was buried.

2 Now there was no water for the community, and the people gathered in opposition to Moses and Aaron. 3 They quarreled with Moses and said, “If only we had died when our brothers fell dead before the Lord! 4 Why did you bring the Lord’s community into this wilderness, that we and our livestock should die here? 5 Why did you bring us up out of Egypt to this terrible place? It has no grain or figs, grapevines or pomegranates. And there is no water to drink!”

6 Moses and Aaron went from the assembly to the entrance to the tent of meeting and fell facedown, and the glory of the Lord appeared to them. 7 The Lord said to Moses, 8 “Take the staff, and you and your brother Aaron gather the assembly together. Speak to that rock before their eyes and it will pour out its water. You will bring water out of the rock for the community so they and their livestock can drink.”

9 So Moses took the staff from the Lord’s presence, just as he commanded him. 10 He and Aaron gathered the assembly together in front of the rock and Moses said to them, “Listen, you rebels, must we bring you water out of this rock?” 11 Then Moses raised his arm and struck the rock twice with his staff. Water gushed out, and the community and their livestock drank.

12 But the Lord said to Moses and Aaron, “Because you did not trust in me enough to honor me as holy in the sight of the Israelites, you will not bring this community into the land I give them.”

13 These were the waters of Meribah,[a] where the Israelites quarreled with the Lord and where he was proved holy among them.

Oh LORD,
Our God!
Sanctified and Holy is Your Most hallowed Name.
How Excellent,
How Wonderful,
How Perfect You Are!
My heart is Overwhelmed With Your Glory,
Your Magnificence,
and Your Power!
When I think of how Awesome You Are,
Of How You Transcend Time and Space,
Of How You Created Everything That Is and Ever Was,
Of How You Tell History
From the Beginning to The End
and the End to The Beginning,
Of How You Give us a Glimpse into Your Infinite Mind
through Your Holy and Unchanging Word,
How You Are Faithful To Your Promises
Even When We Fall Away,
And How You Fulfill Every Detail of Your Precepts,
When we ourselves fall so short of the target,
I just have to stop everything,
And say, "How Great and AWESOME YOU ARE!"

Let all that has been Concealed
Be Revealed.

Father, We Pray For The Peace Of Jerusalem,
According To Your Will and Promise.
We Pray That You Will Forgive The Sins
of Our Own Nation,
and Lead us all to Godly Repentance.
Create in Us Clean Hearts, Oh LORD,
and Renew a Right Spirit Within Us.

This we Pray Together,
As We Await Your Messiah,
Blessed Be He,
To Set Up His Kingdom,
And Make All Things Right.

Every time I open certain websites, there are pop-up ads that use this phrase:

USE THIS WEIRD TRICK...

The "weird trick" claims to solve:

Obesity,
Diabetes,
Plantar Fascitis,
Hair Loss,
Impotence,
Hypertension,
Morning Sickness,
Dental Plaque,
Home Invasions,
Rodents,
Insect pests,
and a host of other problems.

The "Weird Trick" can involve everything and anything, from Baking Soda to Aluminum Foil. From Cardboard Toilet Paper Cores to those little plastic clips on a bag of bread, there seems to be a "Weird Trick" for everything. This phenomenon is known as "Click Bait". People get paid for the number of computer users who click their mouse on the "Weird Trick" ad. It's mostly out of curiosity. By clicking on the link, you become fair game for Advertising, and who knows what else.

People are not only curious, they are also credulous. If something works for somebody even once, most people think that it will work all the time. The action becomes a "Weird Trick". Many of us, in a sincere effort to be helpful, offer solutions to people that they haven't even asked for in the first place.

"YOU SHOULD try this. It worked for me!"

What we don't realize is that when a person asks for prayer, they have already tried everything that you can advise. Now it's time to Trust in what God has to say about it.

At the beginning of the Exodus, Moses was told by God to strike the Rock ONCE, and water would come out. It was a Miracle. It was NOT a "Weird Trick". Moses was not told to keep striking rocks all the way to the Promised Land. The Rock was only to be stricken Once and For All.

After forty years of God providing, the People were still complaining and grumbling for Water. This time however, God told Moses to SPEAK to The Rock. But Moses, in his frustration and anger, decided to use the "Weird Trick" that worked 40 years earlier. Not only did he strike the rock again, but he let out a stream of angry words, showing his Anger, Mistrust of God, and Disrespect.

His punishment was more than I could have borne. He was not allowed to enter the Promised Land...after all he had been through.

All because of Disrespect. There's a contemporary lesson there for all of us.

Come and Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem, For Our FRiends in Need, For Persecuted Believers, and For Our Beloved Nation.
