🇺🇸Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem 🇮🇱(6/5/25)[Prayer]

Water, Rivers, and Streams in the Bible
Exodus 30:17-21

Basin for Washing

17 Then the Lord said to Moses, 18 “Make a bronze basin, with its bronze stand, for washing. Place it between the tent of meeting and the altar, and put water in it. 19 Aaron and his sons are to wash their hands and feet with water from it. 20 Whenever they enter the tent of meeting, they shall wash with water so that they will not die. Also, when they approach the altar to minister by presenting a food offering to the Lord, 21 they shall wash their hands and feet so that they will not die. This is to be a lasting ordinance for Aaron and his descendants for the generations to come.”

Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem

Oh LORD,
You are forever Holy and Righteous.
How Excellent is Your Name!
It is You Who Stretched out the Heavens,
And it is You Who laid the Foundations of the Earth.
You Alone Are Worthy of Praise,
and You Alone Are The
One True God.
Ancient of Days,
Rock of Ages,
Eternal, and Almighty,
We Can Do Nothing But Fall On Our Faces
Before You in Endless Worship and Thanksgiving!

Let all that has been Concealed
Be Revealed.

Father, We Pray For The Peace Of Jerusalem,
According To Your Will and Promise.
We Pray That You Will Forgive The Sins
of Our Own Nation,
and Lead us all to Godly Repentance.
Create in Us Clean Hearts, Oh LORD,
and Renew a Right Spirit Within Us.

This we Pray Together,
As We Await Your Messiah,
Blessed Be He,
To Set Up His Kingdom,
And Make All Things Right.

”The Greatest Of these Is Love.”

Psalm 138

Of David.

1 I give you thanks, O Lord, with my whole heart;
before the gods I sing your praise;
2 I bow down towards your holy temple
and give thanks to your name for your steadfast love and your faithfulness;
for you have exalted your name and your word
above everything.*
3 On the day I called, you answered me,
you increased my strength of soul.*

4 All the kings of the earth shall praise you, O Lord,
for they have heard the words of your mouth.
5 They shall sing of the ways of the Lord,
for great is the glory of the Lord.
6 For though the Lord is high, he regards the lowly;
but the haughty he perceives from far away.

7 Though I walk in the midst of trouble,
you preserve me against the wrath of my enemies;
you stretch out your hand,
and your right hand delivers me.
8 The Lord will fulfil his purpose for me;
your steadfast love, O Lord, endures for ever.
Do not forsake the work of your hands.

When I needed a reprimand (usually for my big mouth), Mom would use the word "brazen". Being a smart kid, I often stepped over the line and became a smartaleck (sp?). I naturally wanted to know what "brazen" meant, so I looked it up in a kiddie dictionary. The definition was "made of brass". It didn't make sense. But I knew Mom was looking for new words, because when she said that I was being "Fresh" I retorted, "Would you rather I be STALE?"

I know. That was pretty brazen of me.

I must have been a difficult kid. My parents were happy that I was "smart", but not happy when my "smart mouth" got me into trouble with Authority Figures. Another word for "brazen" is "brassy". Now THAT makes sense!

In the old testament, brass (or bronze) has been used as a symbol for rebellious behavior (ie: SIN). Gold, on the other hand, is symbolic of purity. It might have something to do with how these metals are worked that has brought about this symbolism. Gold is an Element, while Brass is an Alloy. An alloy is the product of two or more elements chemically bonded by some process, usually involving heat.

The uses of Gold for the Altar and Bronze for the Washbasin are highly indicative of their functions. When this series looked into the Tabernacle and the Temple, we looked at this more closely. The purpose of the basin (or Laver) is for washing. It is placed in a location in front of the Temple, so that the priest couldn't enter without washing first. This custom is reflected in all three Abrahamic Religions, from the Mikvah, to Baptism, to the Foot-Washing stations in front of a mosque.

Of course, no amount of scrubbing can prepare us for the Presence of The Most Holy God. It is Jesus Who cleanses us from sin.

The Water is an outward sign of our Obedience to Him.

Come and Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem, For Our FRiends in Need, For Persecuted Believers, and For Our Beloved Nation.

”Let us acknowledge the LORD; let us press on to acknowledge him. As surely as the sun rises, he will appear; he will come to us like the winter rains, like the spring rains that water the earth.” (Hosea 6:3 NIV)

Blessings To All Who Visit This Garden of Prayer.

Joining in prayer for the Peace of Jerusalem and for our beloved America.

Then again, “the Brass” can refer to the bosses.
