🇺🇸Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem 🇮🇱(5/30/25)[Prayer]

Water, Rivers, and Streams in the Bible
Exodus 13:17-22
17 When Pharaoh let the people go, God did not lead them on the road through the Philistine country, though that was shorter. For God said, “If they face war, they might change their minds and return to Egypt.” 18 So God led the people around by the desert road toward the Red Sea.[a] The Israelites went up out of Egypt ready for battle.
19 Moses took the bones of Joseph with him because Joseph had made the Israelites swear an oath. He had said, “God will surely come to your aid, and then you must carry my bones up with you from this place.”[b]
20 After leaving Sukkoth they camped at Etham on the edge of the desert. 21 By day the Lord went ahead of them in a pillar of cloud to guide them on their way and by night in a pillar of fire to give them light, so that they could travel by day or night. 22 Neither the pillar of cloud by day nor the pillar of fire by night left its place in front of the people.

Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem

Our Father in Heaven,
Magnified and Sanctified is Your Most Holy Name!
How We Love You,
With Our Whole Heart,
Our Whole Soul,
Our Whole Mind,
and Our Whole Strength!
For Only You Are Worthy To Be Praised and Worshiped.
Only You Are Holy,
Almighty, and Eternal!
The Nations are Merely Dust To You,
And We, The Work of Your Hands,
Must Bow Our Heads in Worship and Admiration,
and Awe at Your Great Glory!
Let all that has been Concealed
Be Revealed.
Father, We Pray For The Peace Of Jerusalem,
According To Your Will and Promise.
We Pray That You Will Forgive The Sins
of Our Own Nation,
and Lead us all to Godly Repentance.
Create in Us Clean Hearts, Oh LORD,
and Renew a Right Spirit Within Us.
This we Pray Together,
As We Await Your Messiah,
Blessed Be He,
To Set Up His Kingdom,
And Make All Things Right.
”The Greatest Of these Is Love.”

I see these posts all the time, and have no objection.
But my impression of Jerusalem these days is that it’s a simmering powder keg ready to explode at the slightest spark. Police everywhere. Religious tension person to person. Organized mobs ready to break loose at a moment’s notice.
Socially, the Old City freaks me out.
Of course The Wall is the thing, until the superiorist muslim blights are erased from Mount Moriah and the Third Temple is built.

Last year, I had a local handyman Power Wash my house. For some reason, perhaps because I live near wetlands, my white vinyl siding gets a nasty coat of green moss every year that has to be removed. Even with Outdoor Bleach Solution, the moss and mildew come back every year. The Handyman bought a pressure washer specifically for the job, and it worked great until he tried to disconnect the hose at the end of the job. The alleged brass fitting on the machine wasn't brass at all. It was a white plastic painted to look like brass. The handyman was so angry that he vowed never to take on a power washing job again. So, this year I had to find somebody else.
A new company was advertising heavily in our area, so I called the number. I tried to explain to the man that, because my mobile home doesn't have an outdoor spigot, we would have to use my neighbor's water hose. He hung up on me. Then I spoke to another neighbor, named Steve, and he agreed to do it for $200.00. That is VERY reasonable. He didn't mind hooking up to my other neighbor's hose, as we all pay the same for water no matter how much we use. I have blanket permission to use my neighbor's hose. It was scheduled for a week ago, Friday.
On Friday, we had a rare, violent Northeaster. Trees came down, Electrical Service was interrupted, and it was chaos. Of course, the Power Washing had to be rescheduled until after Memorial Day, on Tuesday.
Steve showed up on Tuesday morning, hooked up my neighbor's hose to his machine, and turned on the water. His machine blew up, spraying water everywhere. It was impossible to fix, so Steve had to go out and buy a new one. The job was postponed for another day.
Wednesday, Steve came with his new Power Washer and finished the job. I gave him a little more than the agreed-upon $200.00, because I felt bad about all he had gone through to do the job for me. However, I am recommending him to all the other folks in the Mobile Home Park for a job well done for a reasonable fee.
Water is the common theme through my entire story. It's the dampness of the wetlands that causes the moss to grow on our houses, year after year. It's the pressure of the water that both cleans the houses and destroys the cheap gaskets and connectors on the power washers (MADE IN CHINA). It's because I don't have my own outdoor spigot that I have to "borrow" water from my neighbor. It was torrential rain that downed trees and powerlines last Friday. Water sullies, and water cleanses. Water nurtures and water destroys.
As we follow the recently freed slaves who are fleeing from Egypt, we will see the incredible importance of Water on their journey. At this point in the story, they are camped with The Red Sea at their backs, Pharaoh's Army on the way, and no visible means of escape. The WATER is blocking their way.
Come and Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem, For Our FRiends in Need, For Persecuted Believers, and For Our Beloved Nation.
”Let us acknowledge the LORD; let us press on to acknowledge him. As surely as the sun rises, he will appear; he will come to us like the winter rains, like the spring rains that water the earth.” (Hosea 6:3 NIV)

I agree with you, Uncle Miltie. It has always been like that. When I was there in 1984, I saw it too, but it’s probably even worse now.
But, as you may have discerned, I LOVE the Bible and try to live in obedience to God’s Word. The title of this Thread comes from Psalm 122:
Psalms 122
1 I was glad when they said unto me, Let us go into the house of the LORD.
2 Our feet shall stand within thy gates, O Jerusalem.
3 Jerusalem is builded as a city that is compact together:
4 Whither the tribes go up, the tribes of the LORD, unto the testimony of Israel, to give thanks unto the name of the LORD.
5 For there are set thrones of judgment, the thrones of the house of David.
6 Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: they shall prosper that love thee.
7 Peace be within thy walls, and prosperity within thy palaces.
8 For my brethren and companions’ sakes, I will now say, Peace be within thee.
9 Because of the house of the LORD our God I will seek thy good.
PS: I read all of your postings and thank you for your service in Israel’s Struggle for survival.

Amen !!! <><
Psalm 115
1 Not to us, O Lord, not to us, but to your name give glory,
for the sake of your steadfast love and your faithfulness.
2 Why should the nations say,
‘Where is their God?’
3 Our God is in the heavens;
he does whatever he pleases.
4 Their idols are silver and gold,
the work of human hands.
5 They have mouths, but do not speak;
eyes, but do not see.
6 They have ears, but do not hear;
noses, but do not smell.
7 They have hands, but do not feel;
feet, but do not walk;
they make no sound in their throats.
8 Those who make them are like them;
so are all who trust in them.
9 O Israel, trust in the Lord!
He is their help and their shield.
10 O house of Aaron, trust in the Lord!
He is their help and their shield.
11 You who fear the Lord, trust in the Lord!
He is their help and their shield.
12 The Lord has been mindful of us; he will bless us;
he will bless the house of Israel;
he will bless the house of Aaron;
13 he will bless those who fear the Lord,
both small and great.
14 May the Lord give you increase,
both you and your children.
15 May you be blessed by the Lord,
who made heaven and earth.
16 The heavens are the Lord’s heavens,
but the earth he has given to human beings.
17 The dead do not praise the Lord,
nor do any that go down into silence.
18 But we will bless the Lord
from this time on and for evermore.
Praise the Lord!

Just back from weeks 6 and 7. One week on the garbage pile from Lebanon firebases where I found an unused box of timer fuses worth $16,000, plus lots of reuse and recycle to fund the war effort. One week building a record 58,000 lunches for troops in gaza.
I always find the most grueling work, and lose 5 pounds a week. But happily, I eat enough steak and drink enough beer and cocktails to refortify myself for the next week.
All in the company of likeminded friends for life.
It doesn’t get any better. Hard work, friends, terribly grateful Israelis on the street, free drinks anytime someone hears what we do, dancing at the wall with new recruits who just ate the lunch we built.
Am Yisrael Chai! Shabbat shalom!

From where does the phrase “speedily in our days” come?
Grok:
The phrase “speedily in our days” (often translated from Hebrew as bimheira b’yameinu) originates from Jewish liturgical and biblical traditions. It is commonly found in Jewish prayers and texts, particularly in contexts expressing hope for divine intervention, redemption, or the coming of the Messiah. The phrase is used to convey a sense of urgency and longing for a future event to occur soon, within the lifetime of those praying.
Key Origins and Usage:
1. Jewish Liturgy:
• The phrase appears in various prayers, such as those in the Amidah (the central prayer of Jewish services) and other blessings, where it expresses hope for the rebuilding of the Temple in Jerusalem, the restoration of the Jewish people, or the arrival of the Messianic era. For example, it is often paired with phrases like “May it be Your will” or “May we see the redemption speedily in our days.”
• A well-known instance is in the blessing for the rebuilding of Jerusalem: “May our eyes behold Your return to Zion in mercy, speedily in our days.”
2. Biblical Roots:
• While the exact phrase “speedily in our days” may not appear verbatim in the Hebrew Bible (Tanakh), it draws on biblical themes of hope, redemption, and divine timing. Verses like Psalm 90:4 or Isaiah 60:22 (“I, the Lord, will hasten it in its time”) reflect similar sentiments of urgency for divine action.
3. Talmudic and Rabbinic Influence:
• The phrase became more formalized in post-biblical Jewish literature, particularly in the Talmud and later rabbinic texts, where it reflects the Jewish people’s yearning for redemption and restoration after the destruction of the Second Temple (70 CE).
4. Modern Usage:
• Today, “speedily in our days” is often used in Jewish prayers, sermons, and writings to express hope for peace, the ingathering of exiles, or other messianic aspirations. It is also sometimes used colloquially within Jewish communities to express a fervent wish for something to happen soon.

I know that phrase. It's in the lyric of the passover Song "Eliahu Ha Navi". Thanks for the explanation. I sing in Hebrew, but, since I'm not fluent in the language, I miss cool things like that.
