🇺🇸Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem 🇮🇱(5/28/25)[Prayer]

Water, Rivers, and Streams in the Bible
Exodus 7:14-22

The Plague of Blood

14 Then the Lord said to Moses, “Pharaoh’s heart is unyielding; he refuses to let the people go. 15 Go to Pharaoh in the morning as he goes out to the river. Confront him on the bank of the Nile, and take in your hand the staff that was changed into a snake. 16 Then say to him, ‘The Lord, the God of the Hebrews, has sent me to say to you: Let my people go, so that they may worship me in the wilderness. But until now you have not listened. 17 This is what the Lord says: By this you will know that I am the Lord: With the staff that is in my hand I will strike the water of the Nile, and it will be changed into blood. 18 The fish in the Nile will die, and the river will stink; the Egyptians will not be able to drink its water.’”

19 The Lord said to Moses, “Tell Aaron, ‘Take your staff and stretch out your hand over the waters of Egypt—over the streams and canals, over the ponds and all the reservoirs—and they will turn to blood.’ Blood will be everywhere in Egypt, even in vessels[a] of wood and stone.”

20 Moses and Aaron did just as the Lord had commanded. He raised his staff in the presence of Pharaoh and his officials and struck the water of the Nile, and all the water was changed into blood. 21 The fish in the Nile died, and the river smelled so bad that the Egyptians could not drink its water. Blood was everywhere in Egypt.

22 But the Egyptian magicians did the same things by their secret arts, and Pharaoh’s heart became hard; he would not listen to Moses and Aaron, just as the Lord had said. 23 Instead, he turned and went into his palace, and did not take even this to heart. 24 And all the Egyptians dug along the Nile to get drinking water, because they could not drink the water of the river.

Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem

Our Father Who Art In Heaven,
How Holy and Sanctified is Your Most Glorious Name!
How Wonderful You Are,
Ancient of Days,
Rock of Ages,
Our Strong Tower,
Our Ever Present Help in Times Of Trouble!
Only You Are Worthy of Our Praise And Worship,
Omnipotent,
Omniscient,
and Omnipresent!
You Are Always Aware of Our Most Intimate and Fleeting Thoughts,
As Well As Our Place in the Global Scheme of Things.
With Serene Confidence we believe in Your Word,
And Trust in Your Name,
And have Complete Reliance Upon Your Promises.

Let all that has been Concealed
Be Revealed.

Father, We Pray For The Peace Of Jerusalem,
According To Your Will and Promise.
We Pray That You Will Forgive The Sins
of Our Own Nation,
and Lead us all to Godly Repentance.
Create in Us Clean Hearts, Oh LORD,
and Renew a Right Spirit Within Us.

This we Pray Together,
As We Await Your Messiah,
Blessed Be He,
To Set Up His Kingdom,
And Make All Things Right.

”The Greatest Of these Is Love.”

I've shared this story recently, so many of yu have heard it before, but it goes so well with Today's Scripture passage that I will retell it.

Mom and Dad bought a little house on the GI Bill. The mortgage payment was $46.00 a month, which was manageable because Dad made $47.00 a Week. (No, I did NOT misplace the decimal point. Those are real numbers). It was in a little enclave on the Boston/Milton Line called "Belnel Village".

Belnel Village was located off River Street in Mattapan, and bordered on the Neponset River, which flowed right behind our house. The River t was bordered by a tall chain link fence, and was strictly forbidden. We all knew the River was polluted, long before Environmental Awareness was a "thing".

On Parents Day at the Kindergarten I attended, Mom and Dad were admonished to never buy me coloring books, but just reams of blank paper. The Teacher recognized my artistic nature, and advised my parents to nurture my creativity. Even at five years old, I was showing that I loved to draw.

Dad went to the Paper Mill on River Street, upriver from Belnel Village. He brought home a huge box of paper..all free from the paper Mill. These were the "ends" that had been left over after all the papers had been counted and packaged. There were all shapes and colors, but most beautiful of all was a large bunch of Hot Pink Construction Paper. I loved the color. It was too dark to draw on, but I used my little round-edged scissors to cut out hearts and flowers and paste the shapes onto other paper. It was the beginning of the "Collage", the "Montage", and what Modern Artists call "Assemblages". I was ahead of my time, I guess. Oh how I loved that Pink Paper.

One morning I looked out of the second floor dormer window and saw the strangest sight. Huge Pink "Icebergs" were floating down the Neponset River. They were actually Pink Foam, and looked as if they were not soluble in the water. I watched with fascination as the Pink Tide flowed past my window, and realized that it was the same color as my Pink Paper. I thereby concluded that it was from the Paper Mill on River Street. Even at my early age, the color pink didn't seem so lovely as it had before. It had become the color of poison.

The Judgment on the Nile god was to turn the Waters of the Nile into Blood. Blood is Life, and it seals the Covenants of God, so, in and of itself, Blood is precious and good. It is the Blood of Jesus that redeems us, and People who "Give Blood" are considered altruistic and good. If we lose enough Blood, we die. It rids our body of toxins, supplies every single cell with Oxygen, and ifs the very stuff of life.

However, when it is polluted, or replaces the life-giving water of the river, it becomes a symbol of Death. Bloody Movies are full of horror, and some people even faint at the sight of it. Having the Live-Giving, but ever-changing Nile turning to Blood was a catastrophe of immense proportions.

It was much worse than the Pink Icebergs on the Neponset.

It was a matter of Life and Death.

Come and Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem, For Our FRiends in Need, For Persecuted Believers, and For Our Beloved Nation.

”Let us acknowledge the LORD; let us press on to acknowledge him. As surely as the sun rises, he will appear; he will come to us like the winter rains, like the spring rains that water the earth.” (Hosea 6:3 NIV)

Blessings To All Who Visit This Garden of Prayer.
