🇺🇸Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem 🇮🇱(5/25/25)[Prayer]

Water, Rivers, and Streams in the Bible
Exodus 2:1-8
The Birth of Moses
2 Now a man of the tribe of Levi married a Levite woman, 2 and she became pregnant and gave birth to a son. When she saw that he was a fine child, she hid him for three months. 3 But when she could hide him no longer, she got a papyrus basket[a] for him and coated it with tar and pitch. Then she placed the child in it and put it among the reeds along the bank of the Nile. 4 His sister stood at a distance to see what would happen to him.
5 Then Pharaoh’s daughter went down to the Nile to bathe, and her attendants were walking along the riverbank. She saw the basket among the reeds and sent her female slave to get it. 6 She opened it and saw the baby. He was crying, and she felt sorry for him. “This is one of the Hebrew babies,” she said.
7 Then his sister asked Pharaoh’s daughter, “Shall I go and get one of the Hebrew women to nurse the baby for you?”
8 “Yes, go,” she answered. So the girl went and got the baby’s mother. 9 Pharaoh’s daughter said to her, “Take this baby and nurse him for me, and I will pay you.” So the woman took the baby and nursed him. 10 When the child grew older, she took him to Pharaoh’s daughter and he became her son. She named him Moses,[b] saying, “I drew him out of the water.”

Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem

Our Father In Heaven,
Magnified and Sanctified is Your Most Holy and Wonderful Name!
How Magnificent You Are,
How Glorious, Righteous and Just!
For It is You Who Created Everything,
From the Vast Unimaginable Singularities in Space,
To the Minute Inner Workings
of My Own Synapses When I Dream!
You are Eternal,
And Forever Good.
There is No Shadow of turning With You.
Your Precepts and Promises Are Everlasting.
You Say It is So, and It Is So.
You Alone Are Worthy,
You Alone Are LORD,
You Alone Are The One True God.
Let all that has been Concealed
Be Revealed.
Father, We Pray For The Peace Of Jerusalem,
According To Your Will and Promise.
We Pray That You Will Forgive The Sins
of Our Own Nation,
and Lead us all to Godly Repentance.
Create in Us Clean Hearts, Oh LORD,
and Renew a Right Spirit Within Us.
This we Pray Together,
As We Await Your Messiah,
Blessed Be He,
To Set Up His Kingdom,
And Make All Things Right.
”The Greatest Of these Is Love.”
If you would like to be on or off the Daily Ping List, please let me know.

I really love to read, and, thanks to the blessings of "phonics", learned to read at a very young age. My favorite stories were Ancient Myths about gods and goddesses. This passion was fed by trips to the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, where the world-renowned Egyptian Collection boggled my mind and set in me a passion for Archaeology, Classical Literature, and Mythology. In High School I was given a scholarship to The Museum School for after-school Art Classes down in the basement of the Museum. Often, we students were sent upstairs to study and draw these artifacts that were literally THOUSANDS of years old.
Now, during the sixties, when I went to the Museum School, there was a kind of religious revolution going on. Christian Churches kept trying to "modernize" their liturgies and practices in order to accommodate the shifting attitudes in society. I believe they meant well, but they only succeeded in watering things down to a lukewarm mush, and left many people feeling bored and jaded.
Meanwhile, I wandered the halls of the Museum, gazing at the perfectly proportioned nudes of Ancient Greece, the many-armed Avatars of the Hindu gods, and the elegant monumental gods of Egypt, and found my brain seduced by a kind of syncretism. That "all roads lead to God" thing can be very persuasive, especially in a time of political and social unrest.
In a far corner of my soul, though, there was a nagging thought. If one needed a separate "god" for the sun, the moon, the sky, the sea, the mountains, the valleys, the plains, or even incorporeal things like fertility, war, love, springtime, and the harvest, doesn't that limit the god's power? And doesn't that mean that, if there are many gods, than they are not "gods" at all? Anyway, that is how my teenage brain got "hooked" on Monotheism!
By far, my Favorite Section of the Museum was the Egyptian Collection. I still love Egyptology, and so the Art associated with The Book of Exodus really resonates with me. I'm a big fan of movies about Ancient Egypt, from Land of the Pharaohs to STARGATE.
Of Course, my All-Time Favorite is The Ten Commandments (1955). Famed Hollywood Designer Edith Head did such a magnificent job on the costumes that I can picture the characters in my head when I read Exodus. It was as if the Egyptian paintings had come to life.
The Nile was so important to Ancient Egypt, that they had their very own "god" assigned to it. There was also a "god" who had the head of a crocodile. The Nile, giver of life, was also the instrument of death. Pharaoh, who was also considered a "god", was responsible for the annual flood, which brought a whole new layer of fertile soil to Egypt. If the Nile failed, it was Pharaoh's Fault.
When the real God brings judgment upon Egypt, it will be on the "gods and goddesses" of that country.
We see how the Nile can bring Life or death. Male babies were thrown into the Nile, to be eaten by the ever-present crocodiles. However, Moses's Mother and Sister placed the baby Moses into a little basket on the Nile, which saved his life.
I doubt if the basket would have deterred a crocodile, but God had plans for that little kid.

Psalm 71
1 In you, O Lord, I take refuge;
let me never be put to shame.
2 In your righteousness deliver me and rescue me;
incline your ear to me and save me.
3 Be to me a rock of refuge,
a strong fortress,* to save me,
for you are my rock and my fortress.
4 Rescue me, O my God, from the hand of the wicked,
from the grasp of the unjust and cruel.
5 For you, O Lord, are my hope,
my trust, O Lord, from my youth.
6 Upon you I have leaned from my birth;
it was you who took me from my mother’s womb.
My praise is continually of you.
7 I have been like a portent to many,
but you are my strong refuge.
8 My mouth is filled with your praise,
and with your glory all day long.
9 Do not cast me off in the time of old age;
do not forsake me when my strength is spent.
10 For my enemies speak concerning me,
and those who watch for my life consult together.
11 They say, ‘Pursue and seize that person
whom God has forsaken,
for there is no one to deliver.’
12 O God, do not be far from me;
O my God, make haste to help me!
13 Let my accusers be put to shame and consumed;
let those who seek to hurt me
be covered with scorn and disgrace.
14 But I will hope continually,
and will praise you yet more and more.
15 My mouth will tell of your righteous acts,
of your deeds of salvation all day long,
though their number is past my knowledge.
16 I will come praising the mighty deeds of the Lord God,
I will praise your righteousness, yours alone.
17 O God, from my youth you have taught me,
and I still proclaim your wondrous deeds.
18 So even to old age and grey hairs,
O God, do not forsake me,
until I proclaim your might
to all the generations to come.*
Your power 19and your righteousness, O God,
reach the high heavens.
You who have done great things,
O God, who is like you?
20 You who have made me see many troubles and calamities
will revive me again;
from the depths of the earth
you will bring me up again.
21 You will increase my honour,
and comfort me once again.
22 I will also praise you with the harp
for your faithfulness, O my God;
I will sing praises to you with the lyre,
O Holy One of Israel.
23 My lips will shout for joy
when I sing praises to you;
my soul also, which you have rescued.
24 All day long my tongue will talk of your righteous help,
for those who tried to do me harm
have been put to shame, and disgraced.

Most of the art depicting Exodus 1 downplays this disturbing fact.
However, The movie “The Prince Of Egypt” depicts it, symbolically, by showing the “practice” in the style of an Egyptian Tomb painting.
