🇺🇸Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem 🇮🇱(5/24/25)[Prayer]

Water, Rivers, and Streams in the Bible
Exodus 1
The Israelites Oppressed
1 These are the names of the sons of Israel who went to Egypt with Jacob, each with his family: 2 Reuben, Simeon, Levi and Judah; 3 Issachar, Zebulun and Benjamin; 4 Dan and Naphtali; Gad and Asher. 5 The descendants of Jacob numbered seventy[a] in all; Joseph was already in Egypt.
6 Now Joseph and all his brothers and all that generation died, 7 but the Israelites were exceedingly fruitful; they multiplied greatly, increased in numbers and became so numerous that the land was filled with them.
8 Then a new king, to whom Joseph meant nothing, came to power in Egypt. 9 “Look,” he said to his people, “the Israelites have become far too numerous for us. 10 Come, we must deal shrewdly with them or they will become even more numerous and, if war breaks out, will join our enemies, fight against us and leave the country.”
11 So they put slave masters over them to oppress them with forced labor, and they built Pithom and Rameses as store cities for Pharaoh. 12 But the more they were oppressed, the more they multiplied and spread; so the Egyptians came to dread the Israelites 13 and worked them ruthlessly. 14 They made their lives bitter with harsh labor in brick and mortar and with all kinds of work in the fields; in all their harsh labor the Egyptians worked them ruthlessly.
15 The king of Egypt said to the Hebrew midwives, whose names were Shiphrah and Puah, 16 “When you are helping the Hebrew women during childbirth on the delivery stool, if you see that the baby is a boy, kill him; but if it is a girl, let her live.” 17 The midwives, however, feared God and did not do what the king of Egypt had told them to do; they let the boys live. 18 Then the king of Egypt summoned the midwives and asked them, “Why have you done this? Why have you let the boys live?”
19 The midwives answered Pharaoh, “Hebrew women are not like Egyptian women; they are vigorous and give birth before the midwives arrive.”
20 So God was kind to the midwives and the people increased and became even more numerous. 21 And because the midwives feared God, he gave them families of their own.
22 Then Pharaoh gave this order to all his people: “Every Hebrew boy that is born you must throw into the Nile, but let every girl live.”

Mom originally shared this story with me. She said she got it from an interview she saw on TV. Any story from WW2 that involved a Mom was very special to her. I shared this story many years ago on this Thread, so some of you will not be surprised at the ending. Here goes:
Mary was a Midwife, and a very good one. During the Blitz, her industrial city in England was a frequent target of the Germans, and there was rationing, restrictions, and a strict Blackout. Still, she had a job to do, delivering babies.
Only a "Proper Doctor" could legally obtain Petrol or a Car, so Mary did her rounds on a bicycle. Through bombed-out streets and piles of rubble day and night, Mary pedaled to her destination. She was a Hero in my book.
Mary died young, of breast cancer, leaving her only son Paul devastated. Paul's Dad hoped to help Paul through his grief by buying him a used guitar. Paul seemed to take to the guitar quite naturally, and it helped.
Years later, Paul became a very successful musician. However, with success came the wild life, alcohol, drugs, and a lot of craziness. Paul was getting caught up in it, and could have even been considered at the forefront. Then he had a dream.
In the dream, his Mum appeared to him and told him to lay all of the junk aside. She told him to "Let It Be", and that was the origin of the Beatles' Hit Song of the same name.
I had always thought that "Mother Mary" was The Virgin Mary, Jesus's Mother. But my Mom assures me that she heard Paul McCartney tell this story himself.
I later read several Biographies of the Beatles, and Mom was RIGHT.
This Twentieth-Century Heroic Midwife Mary had a Role Model from the Torah. Two Hebrew Midwives, Shiphrah and Puah, were under orders to throw any male Hebrew Babies into the Nile. They wouldn't do that, and came up with various schemes to protect the male children.
It is interesting that 4000 years later, scholars STILL don't know the name of the Pharaoh in Exodus. Some say it was Ramses, some say Seti, others say some other name. But, like Mary McCartney is immortalized in a song, Shiphrah and Puah are immortalized in the First Chapter of Exodus. They will never be forgotten.
Come and Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem, For Our FRiends in Need, For Persecuted Believers, and For Our Beloved Nation.
”Let us acknowledge the LORD; let us press on to acknowledge him. As surely as the sun rises, he will appear; he will come to us like the winter rains, like the spring rains that water the earth.” (Hosea 6:3 NIV)

Psalm 51
To the leader. A Psalm of David, when the prophet Nathan came to him, after he had gone in to Bathsheba.
1 Have mercy on me, O God,
according to your steadfast love;
according to your abundant mercy
blot out my transgressions.
2 Wash me thoroughly from my iniquity,
and cleanse me from my sin.
3 For I know my transgressions,
and my sin is ever before me.
4 Against you, you alone, have I sinned,
and done what is evil in your sight,
so that you are justified in your sentence
and blameless when you pass judgement.
5 Indeed, I was born guilty,
a sinner when my mother conceived me.
6 You desire truth in the inward being;*
therefore teach me wisdom in my secret heart.
7 Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean;
wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow.
8 Let me hear joy and gladness;
let the bones that you have crushed rejoice.
9 Hide your face from my sins,
and blot out all my iniquities.
10 Create in me a clean heart, O God,
and put a new and right* spirit within me.
11 Do not cast me away from your presence,
and do not take your holy spirit from me.
12 Restore to me the joy of your salvation,
and sustain in me a willing* spirit.
13 Then I will teach transgressors your ways,
and sinners will return to you.
14 Deliver me from bloodshed, O God,
O God of my salvation,
and my tongue will sing aloud of your deliverance.
15 O Lord, open my lips,
and my mouth will declare your praise.
16 For you have no delight in sacrifice;
if I were to give a burnt-offering, you would not be pleased.
17 The sacrifice acceptable to God* is a broken spirit;
a broken and contrite heart, O God, you will not despise.
18 Do good to Zion in your good pleasure;
rebuild the walls of Jerusalem,
19 then you will delight in right sacrifices,
in burnt-offerings and whole burnt-offerings;
then bulls will be offered on your altar.
