đşđ¸Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem đŽđą(5/23/25)[Prayer]

Water, Rivers, and Streams in the Bible
Genesis 41:1-39
41Â When two full years had passed, Pharaoh had a dream: He was standing by the Nile, 2Â when out of the river there came up seven cows, sleek and fat, and they grazed among the reeds. 3Â After them, seven other cows, ugly and gaunt, came up out of the Nile and stood beside those on the riverbank. 4Â And the cows that were ugly and gaunt ate up the seven sleek, fat cows. Then Pharaoh woke up.
5Â He fell asleep again and had a second dream: Seven heads of grain, healthy and good, were growing on a single stalk. 6Â After them, seven other heads of grain sproutedâthin and scorched by the east wind. 7Â The thin heads of grain swallowed up the seven healthy, full heads. Then Pharaoh woke up; it had been a dream.
8Â In the morning his mind was troubled, so he sent for all the magicians and wise men of Egypt. Pharaoh told them his dreams, but no one could interpret them for him.
9Â Then the chief cupbearer said to Pharaoh, âToday I am reminded of my shortcomings. 10Â Pharaoh was once angry with his servants, and he imprisoned me and the chief baker in the house of the captain of the guard. 11Â Each of us had a dream the same night, and each dream had a meaning of its own. 12Â Now a young Hebrew was there with us, a servant of the captain of the guard. We told him our dreams, and he interpreted them for us, giving each man the interpretation of his dream. 13Â And things turned out exactly as he interpreted them to us: I was restored to my position, and the other man was impaled.â
14Â So Pharaoh sent for Joseph, and he was quickly brought from the dungeon. When he had shaved and changed his clothes, he came before Pharaoh.
15Â Pharaoh said to Joseph, âI had a dream, and no one can interpret it. But I have heard it said of you that when you hear a dream you can interpret it.â
16Â âI cannot do it,â Joseph replied to Pharaoh, âbut God will give Pharaoh the answer he desires.â
17Â Then Pharaoh said to Joseph, âIn my dream I was standing on the bank of the Nile, 18Â when out of the river there came up seven cows, fat and sleek, and they grazed among the reeds. 19Â After them, seven other cows came upâscrawny and very ugly and lean. I had never seen such ugly cows in all the land of Egypt. 20Â The lean, ugly cows ate up the seven fat cows that came up first. 21Â But even after they ate them, no one could tell that they had done so; they looked just as ugly as before. Then I woke up.
22Â âIn my dream I saw seven heads of grain, full and good, growing on a single stalk. 23Â After them, seven other heads sproutedâwithered and thin and scorched by the east wind. 24Â The thin heads of grain swallowed up the seven good heads. I told this to the magicians, but none of them could explain it to me.â
25Â Then Joseph said to Pharaoh, âThe dreams of Pharaoh are one and the same. God has revealed to Pharaoh what he is about to do. 26Â The seven good cows are seven years, and the seven good heads of grain are seven years; it is one and the same dream. 27Â The seven lean, ugly cows that came up afterward are seven years, and so are the seven worthless heads of grain scorched by the east wind: They are seven years of famine.
28Â âIt is just as I said to Pharaoh: God has shown Pharaoh what he is about to do. 29Â Seven years of great abundance are coming throughout the land of Egypt, 30Â but seven years of famine will follow them. Then all the abundance in Egypt will be forgotten, and the famine will ravage the land. 31Â The abundance in the land will not be remembered, because the famine that follows it will be so severe. 32Â The reason the dream was given to Pharaoh in two forms is that the matter has been firmly decided by God, and God will do it soon.
33Â âAnd now let Pharaoh look for a discerning and wise man and put him in charge of the land of Egypt. 34Â Let Pharaoh appoint commissioners over the land to take a fifth of the harvest of Egypt during the seven years of abundance. 35Â They should collect all the food of these good years that are coming and store up the grain under the authority of Pharaoh, to be kept in the cities for food. 36Â This food should be held in reserve for the country, to be used during the seven years of famine that will come upon Egypt, so that the country may not be ruined by the famine.â
37Â The plan seemed good to Pharaoh and to all his officials. 38Â So Pharaoh asked them, âCan we find anyone like this man, one in whom is the spirit of God[a]?â
39Â Then Pharaoh said to Joseph, âSince God has made all this known to you, there is no one so discerning and wise as you. 40Â You shall be in charge of my palace, and all my people are to submit to your orders. Only with respect to the throne will I be greater than you.â

Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem

Almighty and Eternal Father,
Strong To Save,
Slow To Anger,
and Infinitely Merciful and Just,
Holy and Sanctified
is Your Most Hallowed and Wonderful Name!
How Marvelous Are Your Works,
That the Very Heavens Declare Your Glory,
Without Embarrassment,
they Just Burst Forth in Sumptuous,
Overwhelming Praise!
The Stars,
The Rocks,
The Waterfalls,
Even The Lowly Grasses of The Field,
Burst Forth into Riotous Colors,
In Worship of Their Awesome Creator!
And yet we,
The Crown of Your Creation,
That which You Made in Your Image,
That in Whom You Breathed Your Spirit,
Those in Whom You Share Your Creative Genius,
â¨unlike ANY OTHER CREATURE of Your Wonderful Works,
Continue to rebel against You,
And sin against You and against Our Fellow Man,
and not Believe You,
and Disobey You,
and not follow Your Precepts,
even when You give us Your Word!
Dear Father,
We Thank You For Your Awesome Mercy and For Your Steadfast Love,
Which Never Ceases.
Let all that has been Concealed
Be Revealed.
Father, We Pray For The Peace Of Jerusalem,
According To Your Will and Promise.
We Pray That You Will Forgive The Sins
of Our Own Nation,
and Lead us all to Godly Repentance.
Create in Us Clean Hearts, Oh LORD,
and Renew a Right Spirit Within Us.
This we Pray Together,
As We Await Your Messiah,
Blessed Be He,
To Set Up His Kingdom,
And Make All Things Right.
âThe Greatest Of these Is Love.â

One of my favorite TV Shows during the early 1960's was Bonanza. All my girlfriends had a major crush on Little Joe, who was played by Michael Landon. However, I was more in love with Adam, played by Pernell Roberts. It seemed as though Little Joe was always getting into trouble, and his Dad and three big brothers would come to his rescue.
It wasn't till years after "Bonanza" that my Dad purchased a Copy of Carmina Burana by Carl Orff.
I was stunned to see on the Album Cover that the Baritone was Pernell Roberts! My old heartthrob! I don't remember if he ever sang in "Bonanza", but he sure had a beautiful voice.
Since our last reading, a lot has happened to the teenage Joseph since he got thrown into a dry well. He gets sold into slavery, falsely accused of raping his boss's wife, thrown into prison, and left for dead by someone he helped. Each one of these events could have been an episode of Bonanza, except that, in the end, Little Joe ends up rescuing his Father and Brothers instead of the other way around.
It looked as if nobody would be rescuing Little Joe this time.
But then, Pharaoh has a a dream. In the dream, there are seven cows that come up out of the Nile, fat and sleek, and then seven more who are gaunt and ugly. This was very disturbing for Pharaoh, since he was supposedly a "god" and was responsible for the annual Flooding of the Nile. If the Flood didn't happen, the country was doomed and he was in Big Trouble.
Here's where The Real Father intervenes. The Cupbearer, who had been helped by Joe in prison and then quickly threw him under the bus, had a moment of insight and reminded Pharaoh that there was somebody in prison who could interpret dreams. Although it doesn't say so in Scripture, I believe that God gave the Cupbearer this Insight.
Today's River is the Mighty Nile, whose annual inundation (or lack thereof) could make or break one of the most intriguing Ancient Civilizations in History. No Flood-No Bonanza.
Come and Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem, For Our FRiends in Need, For Persecuted Believers, and For Our Beloved Nation.
âLet us acknowledge the LORD; let us press on to acknowledge him. As surely as the sun rises, he will appear; he will come to us like the winter rains, like the spring rains that water the earth.â (Hosea 6:3 NIV)

Psalm 97
1 The Lord is king! Let the earth rejoice;
let the many coastlands be glad!
2 Clouds and thick darkness are all around him;
righteousness and justice are the foundation of his throne.
3 Fire goes before him,
and consumes his adversaries on every side.
4 His lightnings light up the world;
the earth sees and trembles.
5 The mountains melt like wax before the Lord,
before the Lord of all the earth.
6 The heavens proclaim his righteousness;
and all the peoples behold his glory.
7 All worshippers of images are put to shame,
those who make their boast in worthless idols;
all gods bow down before him.
8 Zion hears and is glad,
and the towns* of Judah rejoice,
because of your judgements, O God.
9 For you, O Lord, are most high over all the earth;
you are exalted far above all gods.
10 The Lord loves those who hate* evil;
he guards the lives of his faithful;
he rescues them from the hand of the wicked.
11 Light dawns* for the righteous,
and joy for the upright in heart.
12 Rejoice in the Lord, O you righteous,
and give thanks to his holy name!

When my kids were little, before going to bed, they always wanted us to play O Fortuna from Carmina Burana...or Britten’s Noah Flood...how they could relax and sleep was a mystery to us...
