🇺🇸Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem 🇮🇱(5/20/25)[Prayer]

Water, Rivers, and Streams in the Bible
Genesis 29:1-13

Jacob Arrives in Paddan Aram

29 Then Jacob continued on his journey and came to the land of the eastern peoples. 2 There he saw a well in the open country, with three flocks of sheep lying near it because the flocks were watered from that well. The stone over the mouth of the well was large. 3 When all the flocks were gathered there, the shepherds would roll the stone away from the well’s mouth and water the sheep. Then they would return the stone to its place over the mouth of the well.

4 Jacob asked the shepherds, “My brothers, where are you from?”

“We’re from Harran,” they replied.

5 He said to them, “Do you know Laban, Nahor’s grandson?”

“Yes, we know him,” they answered.

6 Then Jacob asked them, “Is he well?”

“Yes, he is,” they said, “and here comes his daughter Rachel with the sheep.”

7 “Look,” he said, “the sun is still high; it is not time for the flocks to be gathered. Water the sheep and take them back to pasture.”

8 “We can’t,” they replied, “until all the flocks are gathered and the stone has been rolled away from the mouth of the well. Then we will water the sheep.”

9 While he was still talking with them, Rachel came with her father’s sheep, for she was a shepherd. 10 When Jacob saw Rachel daughter of his uncle Laban, and Laban’s sheep, he went over and rolled the stone away from the mouth of the well and watered his uncle’s sheep. 11 Then Jacob kissed Rachel and began to weep aloud. 12 He had told Rachel that he was a relative of her father and a son of Rebekah. So she ran and told her father.

13 As soon as Laban heard the news about Jacob, his sister’s son, he hurried to meet him. He embraced him and kissed him and brought him to his home, and there Jacob told him all these things. 14 Then Laban said to him, “You are my own flesh and blood.”

Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem

Oh LORD,
Our God,
How Excellent,
How Wonderful is Your Most Holy Name!
We Lift Up Your Name and Worship You,
For You Alone Are Worthy,
You Alone Are LORD,
You Alone Are The Most HIGH!
LORD of HOSTS,
Ancient of Days,
Lion of Judah,
Rock of Ages,
El Shaddai,
Omnipotent, Omniscient, Omnipresent,
You Know the End from the Beginning
And the Beginning From The End.

Let all that has been Concealed
Be Revealed.

Father, We Pray For The Peace Of Jerusalem,
According To Your Will and Promise.
We Pray That You Will Forgive The Sins
of Our Own Nation,
and Lead us all to Godly Repentance.
Create in Us Clean Hearts, Oh LORD,
and Renew a Right Spirit Within Us.

This we Pray Together,
As We Await Your Messiah,
Blessed Be He,
To Set Up His Kingdom,
And Make All Things Right.

”The Greatest Of these Is Love.”

Psalm 17

A Prayer of David.

1 Hear a just cause, O Lord; attend to my cry;
give ear to my prayer from lips free of deceit.
2 From you let my vindication come;
let your eyes see the right.

3 If you try my heart, if you visit me by night,
if you test me, you will find no wickedness in me;
my mouth does not transgress.
4 As for what others do, by the word of your lips
I have avoided the ways of the violent.
5 My steps have held fast to your paths;
my feet have not slipped.

6 I call upon you, for you will answer me, O God;
incline your ear to me, hear my words.
7 Wondrously show your steadfast love,
O saviour of those who seek refuge
from their adversaries at your right hand.

8 Guard me as the apple of the eye;
hide me in the shadow of your wings,
9 from the wicked who despoil me,
my deadly enemies who surround me.
10 They close their hearts to pity;
with their mouths they speak arrogantly.
11 They track me down;* now they surround me;
they set their eyes to cast me to the ground.
12 They are like a lion eager to tear,
like a young lion lurking in ambush.

13 Rise up, O Lord, confront them, overthrow them!
By your sword deliver my life from the wicked,
14 from mortals—by your hand, O Lord—
from mortals whose portion in life is in this world.
May their bellies be filled with what you have stored up for them;
may their children have more than enough;
may they leave something over to their little ones.

15 As for me, I shall behold your face in righteousness;
when I awake I shall be satisfied, beholding your likeness.

Yikes...I just realized that I wrote TOMORROW'S Story today. I have saved it, and put it Tomorrow's template, but I assure you, it's a DOOZY. Now that I have your interest, let's talk about Today.

While History doesn't exactly REPEAT itself, there are certain events that happen over and over because of Human Nature. In Today's Reading we see how Jacob is about to meet the "Love of his Life" at the same well where Abraham's Servant had met Jacob's Mother Rebekah. Like her future Mother-In-Law, Rachel was a Shepherdess, and, like Jacob's Father Isaac, Jacob was smitten with "Love At First Sight". Who said there's no Romance in the Bible?

From the Text, we can infer that the Well was protected by a large heavy stone, which required several men to move. That's why all the flocks were brought to the Well at that particular time, so that the shepherds could all work together to water their flocks.

But Jacob, totally "pumped up" with adrenaline, was able to move the stone all by himself.

There's a Lesson there, somewhere!

Come and Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem, For Our FRiends in Need, For Persecuted Believers, and For Our Beloved Nation.

”Let us acknowledge the LORD; let us press on to acknowledge him. As surely as the sun rises, he will appear; he will come to us like the winter rains, like the spring rains that water the earth.” (Hosea 6:3 NIV)

Blessings To All Who Visit This Garden of Prayer.

Joining in prayer for the Peace of Jerusalem and for our beloved America.

Lots of matchmaking at wells.

I’m sure you’ll do one of how Moses met his wife.
