Conclave Secrets — Why Prevost Won, Parolin Lost

This may have been one of the most tumultuous papal conclaves in recent memory, with the cardinals of the Roman Church settling on what appears to be a unifying Pope, Leo XIV.

It is remarkable that Robert Prevost, an American, became Pope. It long had been held that an American could never become Pope.

But Vatican sources, who are impeccable, tell Newsmax he was the man to beat from the minute the conclave began.

Here's what unfolded.

This conclave started last Wednesday with secret meetings in the Sistine Chapel.

But the discussions about replacing Francis began almost immediately after his death on April 21.

These meetings — general congregations — at first were comprised mainly of Vatican-based cardinals, but the numbers soon swelled as others arrived from distant parts of the world.

Sources said these meetings were very frank and, at times, quite difficult.

The open days were like "chaos," one participant said.

Francis had named so many cardinals, and many had never even met before. Other cardinals were shocked to hear tales of mismanagement and abuses under Francis.

It was obvious he would win as Francis rigged the process.

That’s how Steve Bannon said he would win ten days before he was elected.

108 of the 130 voting were new Cardinals under Francis. Francis put Prevost in charge of selecting Bishops to become new Cardinals. The deck was stacked.

“108 of the 130 voting were new Cardinals under Francis. Francis put Prevost in charge of selecting Bishops to become new Cardinals. The deck was stacked.”

That is the settling fact and any “chaos” at the conclave was from the resistance trying and hoping Francis’ hand picked cardinals would not retain control - they did.

There is as much “supportive” smoke and mirrors deception going on about the new pope as there was about Francis. Francis was overwhelmingly sold as anything other that what he really was when his reign began. And the sane will hold true with this one.

Per Cannon Law, the max voting was 120 Cardinals. They ignored that.

“But Vatican sources, who are impeccable, tell Newsmax he was the man to beat from the minute the conclave began.”

“So it was, and I have a clear understanding of this conclave from multiple Vatican sources.”

It reads like the author is trying very hard to convince us of his credentials.

thanks for excellent article. I am cautiously optimistic that Pope Leo XIV will lift the restrictions on the Latin mass. Praying! St. Augustine ora pro nobis

Interesting speculation, but since all are supposedly sworn to secrecy, and the ballots are burned, can we believe this?

Prevost is much better than Parolin based on what we know. I knew we weren’t going to get a Muller or Sarah, but we also didn’t get a fire-breathing Marxist.

If Pope Leo XIV wanted to be a continuation of Francis, he would have been Francis II. Instead, he sought continuity with the Pre-Vatican II Popes (as Benedict did) and did not become John Paul III, John XXIV or Francis II.

He is quiet, moderate in temperament, and inclined to diplomacy rather than diktat. We won’t get all of what we want, but the beatings should decrease substantially.

“unnamed sources say...”

Although according to the author, they are (of course!) “impeccable”.

What a difference a few days make. Last week, so many on Free Republic had condemned Leo as a liberal in the mold of Francis. And also criticized his Twitter comments opposing Trump and Vance on illegals.

Well, knee perk reactions may not be lasting opinions.

Never be fooled about the Vatican as it’s just like every other wealthy entity. The politics of attaining and maintaining control of the wealth and power corrupts everyone and everything. It’s important to remember all these supposedly “righteous” individuals are still human beings fraught with all the same weaknesses as the rest of us.

Not that it matters much to actual Christianity WHO the pope is, it does matter to the Catholic Church since the rot, or lack thereof, starts with the pope. IF they ever get a real “man of God” in that position, the homosexuals that have infiltrated the Catholic Church, rotting it from the inside, will be running for the hills. Time will tell if this is that man.

Who is this “our Lord” guy? I hadn’t heard talk of him from the Vatican in over a decade! 🧐
