Water, Rivers, and Streams in the Bible
Genesis 8:6-14

6 After forty days Noah opened a window he had made in the ark 7 and sent out a raven, and it kept flying back and forth until the water had dried up from the earth. 8 Then he sent out a dove to see if the water had receded from the surface of the ground. 9 But the dove could find nowhere to perch because there was water over all the surface of the earth; so it returned to Noah in the ark. He reached out his hand and took the dove and brought it back to himself in the ark. 10 He waited seven more days and again sent out the dove from the ark. 11 When the dove returned to him in the evening, there in its beak was a freshly plucked olive leaf! Then Noah knew that the water had receded from the earth. 12 He waited seven more days and sent the dove out again, but this time it did not return to him.

13 By the first day of the first month of Noah’s six hundred and first year, the water had dried up from the earth. Noah then removed the covering from the ark and saw that the surface of the ground was dry. 14 By the twenty-seventh day of the second month the earth was completely dry.

Mom and Dad were adamant. NO, I could NOT go to the Rock Music Festival in New York State with my Boyfriend Peter. I was only sixteen, after all. Peter was a Freshman in College, and had his own car, so he went by himself. Then I didn't hear from him for weeks. What happened? I figured he was mad at me, but that wasn't it at all.

Peter had been a serious diabetic since childhood. He was faithful with his Insulin and had it under control, or so he thought. While everything went smoothly in a controlled environment, it was different out in the mud of Max Yazgur's Farm, amid half a million people, without adequate facilities or proper food. Peter had to be Medivac'd out of the morass, as he had gone into a Diabetic Coma.

Deep in my heart I thanked God for my Parents, who weren't horribly strict with me, but knew where to draw the line.

Along with many other Institutions, Coalitions, and Marketing Firms, the festival had chosen an iconic image for its Logo. It was a Dove with an Olive Branch in its mouth. It has become, for our culture, the Symbol for PEACE. It has been used by both the Left and the Right, Hippies and Big Business, Churches, the U.N. Governments, Cristians, and Jews. It even has popped up in the "Peanuts" cartoons as a little bird named "Woodstock".

Come and Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem, For Our FRiends in Need, For Persecuted Believers, and For Our Beloved Nation.
