A Pennsylvania man has been arrested and charged with intentional desecration of a venerated object after allegedly polluting with urine the holy water at Saint Patrick Catholic Church in York. Jesse John Sokoll, 50, has previously been accused of stealing and subsequently crashing a classic car.
According to York Dispatch, Sokoll has no fixed address.
According to authorities, Sokoll entered the church through the side entrance on the afternoon of April 14 and proceeded to walk down the aisle between the pews. Authorities said that Sokoll entered the vestibule opposite of the altar and that he rifled through the church’s lost and found but did not take anything.
Authorities said that Sokoll then approached the pedestal holding the holy water and polluted it with urine.
The pedestal is considered a sacred object.
Sokoll was arrested after being reported to police by a church staff member. He was later released on a $5,000 unsecured bond.
This is not the first time Sokoll has been arrested. In March of last year, Sokoll was accused of stealing a 1956 Chevrolet Bel Air from an auto repair shop before wrecking the car.
Police responded after it was reported that a classic car matching the stolen vehicle’s description had crashed into a line of trees. When questioned, Sokoll allegedly told police that he had purchased the car at an auction.
After being treated for injuries at the local hospital, Sokoll was arrested and charged with theft by unlawful taking and receiving stolen property.
A preliminary hearing for Sokoll’s desecration charge had been scheduled for May 6, but it has been continued to May 28.

It sounds like this guy might just be a nutjob and not an anti-Catholic activist.
Pre-scientific revolution, such mental illness was viewed as demonic possession
Of course, our modern age did away with such “superstition” and attempted to classify all such behaviors, and understand them in the light of genetics, biochemistry, and social science
I’m leaning towards a blended view of the two.
Or maybe both. Either way yes that is why I said we need Nervous hospitals again.
Holy Holy Water, Batman!
Holy water isn’t easy to make you know. You have to boil the devil out of it.
At first blush, this seems like an insane homeless person that should be involuntarily committed to a mental institution. I agree that we need to bring back state enforced long-term stays at sanitariums.
IN MEDIEVAL TIMES, THE CHURCH CROWD WOULD BE RIOTING , ACCUSING HIM OF WITCHERY, YELLING , “OFF WITH HIS DICK !”
NOWaDAYS ITS “HO HUM!” He needs therapy......
Or a fudge packer.
Another guy who needs to have the sh*t beaten out of him with a baseball bat.
