(The One Who Does Battle For Us) 2 Chronicles 20:14-17

14 Then upon Jahaziel the son of Zechariah, the son of Benaiah, the son of Jeiel, the son of Mattaniah, a Levite of the sons of Asaph, came the Spirit of the Lord in the midst of the congregation; 15 And he said, Hearken ye, all Judah, and ye inhabitants of Jerusalem, and thou king Jehoshaphat, Thus saith the Lord unto you, Be not afraid nor dismayed by reason of this great multitude; for the battle is not yours, but God's.

16 To morrow go ye down against them: behold, they come up by the cliff of Ziz; and ye shall find them at the end of the brook, before the wilderness of Jeruel.

17 Ye shall not need to fight in this battle: set yourselves, stand ye still, and see the salvation of the Lord with you, O Judah and Jerusalem: fear not, nor be dismayed; to morrow go out against them: for the Lord will be with you.

My entire Mobile Home needs to be repainted. I figured that I have about 8000 sq. ft. to paint. (750 sq. ft. + the height of the ceilings, plus several interior walls.) It's a daunting task, but I have already finished the bathroom, the long hallway, and the back hall, as well as two walls in the living room, and a small accent wall in the master bedroom. The biggest task is moving furniture around and taking stuff off the walls. I imagine it will take the rest of Spring to finish.

What is strange is that I'm finding things that I haven't seen for years. One of these items was a shirt I had embroidered for my wedding. Fifty Three years ago, I hand stitched yards of "Aida" fabric with Ukranian-Style cross stitch embroidery. The shirt was yellow with age, and much too small for me to wear. Oh well...I threw it in the washing machine with my light colored clothes and it came out PERFECT...as bight and clean as the day I wore it. maybe I can frame it, or make pillows out of it...or something. It's just too nice to hide in the closet for another fifty years.

The same type of thing often happens when I am reading the Bible. I can be trudging through a difficult Book, like Job and, suddenly, an amazing verse pops out of the page. In Job, it's "I Know My Redeemer Lives." In Lamentations (another "difficult" Book, it's "The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases. His mercies never come to and end. They are new every morning...Great is Thy Faithfulness."

Today's Verse, from the long and difficult Book of 2 Chronicles, is this Gem:

"The Battle is MINE, saith the LORD."

The Holy Spirit know exactly what we need to read and when!

Come and Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem, For Our FRiends in Need, For Persecuted Believers, and For Our Beloved Nation.
