Now this is funny what I'm going to tell you. .... All the theologians tell us we ought to keep the 10 commandments. They all do. Billy Graham, everybody. And then we say, what about the 4th commandment. Oh, they say the commandments were nailed to the cross. ......
You can't have it both ways. Let's be a little honest. Let's not lie. The commandments are eternal. There's only one commandment that talks about times. Remember the Sabbath day to keep it holy. Six days you shall labor and do all your work. But the seventh day is the Sabbath of the Lord Your God.
The Bible says the AntiChrist, the church of Rome would think himself able to change the Sabbath.
(Daniel 7:25 is the text he is talking about, a clear prophecy of the attempt to change the law of God, holy time, by the AntiChrist religious power).
There's not one text in the Bible that tells you to keep Sunday. That's why people aren't keeping it anymore. There's not one text in the Bible that says Sunday is the Lord's day. There's not one text that says that Jesus changed the Sabbath. There's not one text that says that the early Christians kept the first day of the week in honor of the resurrection. .........There's a Lord's day, Revelation 1:10. And the Lord's day is the Sabbath.

The Catholic priest leaned back in his chair, looked at them and said...."Of course we did, who else would!!"
That's funny to me. Who else would!! So honest this Catholic priest.
To quote him:
“Roman Catholics are the best people I know. Finest Christians, They think, they’re devout, They have some substance to them, This Catholic family came, heard these things, can’t believe it, can’t believe it. We said, go up and ask the man who married you.......So the man went up the hill, cause that’s where they are.......went up the top of the hill, the best real estate, cause they’re smart (Catholic church) And the old Monsignor came out, and the man went in and said...Monsignor, you married us, you’ve been our pastor, Ive just got a straight question, I want a straight answer, just tell me the truth, you’ve always been honest with me......did your church change the Sabbath?....
He told us the old priest leaned back in his swivel chair, stuck his thumbs in his waist coat, and cried out...OF COURSE WE DID, WHO ELSE WOULD DARE TOO!
....So lets have none of these lies, saying the commandments are abolished, Jesus did away with the Sabbath. The Church of Rome changed the Sabbath. Ive got the catechisms, Ive got the books, Ive got the articles, Dr. Sam Bacchiocchi did his doctorate on this question at the Gregorian University. .....
...That’s the Pope’s own university, in Rome. And showed how the Roman Catholic church changed the day, And the Pope said Sam, good boy, your right and gave him a Gold medal. (true story, you can get the book on Amazon written decades ago “From Sabbath to Sunday” by Dr. Samuele Bacchiochi).......
.....Let’s stop fooling ourselves, Then the Bible says this power would rule for times, time, and half a time, or 3 and a half years, or 1260 days, and in prophetic days, it’s 1260 years, and that period goes from 538 AD until 1798, that’s the dark ages, and in 1798, General Berthier, one of the generals of Napolean, marched down into Rome and took the pope prisoner. .......
....Every word came to pass, I believe the Bible my friend....It is the word of God, and history proves it.
and after he brought them out, he said, “Sirs, what must I do to be saved?”
And Paul said, Listen Pal, ya gotta keep em all. And if ya miss the Sabbath, fugeddaboudit; yer a cannoli stuck in the broiler ferevah. Margie’s trampy sista got a betta chance dan you.
My Salvation does not depend on what day I worship God.
Tempest in a teapot.
>>>>And Paul said, Listen Pal, ya gotta keep em all. And if ya miss the Sabbath, fugeddaboudit; yer a cannoli stuck in the broiler ferevah. Margie’s trampy sista got a betta chance dan you.>>>>
Substitute the word Sabbath for adultery. Or murder, or worshipping other Gods, or any of the other 9 commandments. And your logic goes down the toilet.
Sorry.
Here is a statement from a Seventh day Adventist book called Questions on Doctrine on why Seventh day Adventists believe in all 10 commandments.....not just 9.
It’s a statement I agree with:
Seventh-day Adventists do not rely upon their Sabbathkeeping as a means of salvation or of winning merit before God. We are saved by grace alone. Hence our Sabbath observance, as also our loyalty to every other command of God, is an expression of our love for our Creator and Redeemer.
>>>My Salvation does not depend on what day I worship God.
Tempest in a teapot.>>>
Does your salvation lead you to disobedience like adultery, killing, lying and stealing. Or does your salvation lead to a faith that results in obeying God including his commandments?
“All the theologians tell us we ought to keep the 10 commandments.”
I am no theologian, and can’t speak on this topic, but only observe that the Pharisees kept the Sabbath but wanted to kill Jesus. So, evidently, keeping the Sabbath does not open the heart or convert anyone.
“I think you should pray and then read it.”
Let me guess — if I did that I would believe like you.
“Lying, stealing, killing, committing adultery, coveting, worshipping other Gods and keeping the sabbath won’t convert a soul.”
And in like manner, NOT lying, stealing, killing committing adultery, etc., won’t convert a soul, according to the gospel.
“But a converted soul will love God’s law, including the sabbath.”
And do you know any professing Christians that preach hatred to God’s law?
“All you have to do is be able to count to 7, I bet even you can do that.”
That statement reveals you to be such a generous, compassionate person, although some might think it was snotty and smirky. If I kept the Sabbath, would I also be so generous and compassionate as you?
>>>And do you know any professing Christians that preach hatred to God’s law?>>>
Yeah, pretty much this entire forum here on FR hate the Sabbath. And from what I can tell, your not a big fan of it either.
It’s almost bizarre. A day, a literal 24 hour period, set aside for us, as a gift to mankind, and so called Christians like you are hostile to the largest of the 10 commmandments, the one bearing God’s seal and authority, for in that one commndment in the decalog, we read his name, title, and territory. Lord, God, creator of heaven and earth.
It’s all right in that 4th commandment. Amazing......
There’s not one text in the Bible that tells you to keep Sunday
...
There’s not one text in the Bible that tells you to keep Saturday, either..
There is text that says you should keep the 15th Day of the 1st month holy.
That’s the Day the Word rested in the tomb.
Resting from finishing His Work as the Passover Lamb, the day before (14th Day of first month, Feast of Passover)
Certainly the Word Made Flesh knows when the Sabbath is.
He rested on it.
Then raised the day after the Sabbath, which is the 16th Day, called the Feast of First Fruits to become First Fruits of those fallen asleep.
Paul’s chief importance of the gospel.
Remarkably, Rome has changed those 3 Days in the Word to their own, then has the world arguing one of the false days is more holy than the other unholy false days, just because some Beast system and Antichrist says so.
Did you keep the 15th Day holy, Vespa, like He says? Did you Remember the Sabbath Day?
Do you even know when it was or are you so bought into the Beast and Antichrist system, you can’t buy gold refined by fire?
You can rest on that same day in His 2nd month, too.
The next day that occured in the bible is 6 days of Manna from heaven.
6 days.
After the 15th.
With the 16th Day as the first day of the next week.
Hmm.. Christ was raised as First Fruits on the 16th Day of the First Month (3rd Day from Passover as Paul details)
Now, Manna from heaven begins on the same ‘first day of the week’ after the 15th Day in month 2.
We’re not talking the Beast’s January and February.
That Beast system has its marks all over your head and hands.
And nobody is forcing you, yet you feel obligated to force others into your false worship..
What hypocrisy.
What Amazing Grace.
Yeah, except all those other days came after sin. They are “shadows.”
The seventh day Edenic Sabbath predates sin. It predates sin.
I don’t know when some of you are going to process that.
You may be worshiping on the wrong day as humans (not God) arbitrarily set the International Date Line in the Pacific rather than the Atlantic. For proper adherence to the law you really should be following Jerusalem time, or, wouldn’t it be philosophically correct to have the day begin near Jerusalem rather than the opposite side of the world?
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/International_Date_Line
Generally, the Christian calendar and Christian churches recognize the IDL. Christmas, for example, is celebrated on 25 December (according to either the Gregorian or the Julian calendar, depending upon which of the two is used by the particular church) as that date falls in countries located on either side of the IDL. Thus, whether it is Western Christmas or Orthodox Christmas, Christians in Samoa, immediately west of the IDL, will celebrate the holiday a day before Christians in American Samoa, which is immediately east of the IDL.
A problem with the general rule above arises in certain Christian churches that solemnly observe a Sabbath day as a particular day of the week, when those churches are located in countries near the IDL. Notwithstanding the difference in dates, the same sunrise happened over American Samoa as happens over Samoa a few minutes later, and the same sunset happens over Samoa as happened over American Samoa a few minutes earlier. In other words, the secular days are legally different but they are physically the same; that causes questions to arise under religious law. Because the IDL is an arbitrary imposition, the question can arise as to which Saturday on either side of the IDL (or, more fundamentally, on either side of 180 degree longitude) is the “real” Saturday. This issue (which also arises in Judaism) is a particular problem for Seventh-day Adventists, Seventh Day Baptists, and similar churches located in countries near the IDL.
In Tonga, Seventh-day Adventists (who usually observe Saturday, the seventh-day Sabbath) observe Sunday because Tonga lies east of the 180° meridian. Sunday as observed in Tonga (west of the IDL, as with Kiribati, Samoa, and parts of Fiji and Tuvalu) is considered by the Seventh-day Adventist Church to be the same day as Saturday observed east of the IDL.[35][36]
Most Seventh-day Adventists in Samoa planned to observe Sabbath on Sunday after Samoa’s crossing the IDL in December 2011, but SDA groups in Samatau village and other places (approximately 300 members) decided to accept the IDL adjustment and observe the Sabbath on Saturday.[37] Debate continues within the Seventh-day Adventist community in the Pacific as to which day is really the seventh-day Sabbath.
The Samoan Independent Seventh-day Adventist Church, which is not affiliated to the worldwide Seventh-day Adventist Church, has decided to continue worshiping on Saturday, after a six-day week at the end of 2011.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Seventh-day_Adventist_Church_in_Tonga#Date_Line_controversy
The Sabbath in seventh-day churches is observed on the seventh day of the week, typically from sunset on Friday until sunset on Saturday. This is an important part of the beliefs and practices of the church.[56] Kellogg, Butz and Hilliard debated which was the correct day to observe the Sabbath in Tonga. The practice on the Pitcairn had been to change days at the 180° meridian. Islands such as Samoa and Tonga were well to the east of this line, so the missionaries observed the Sabbath on the day sequence of the Western Hemisphere. However, the Tonga islands used the same days as New Zealand and Australia, so the missionaries were observing the seventh-day Sabbath on Sunday.[57][f]
The tract by Adventist John N. Andrews entitled The Definitive Seventh Day (1871) recommended using a Bering Strait date line.[57] If this was accepted, the Tonga Adventists were celebrating the Sabbath on the wrong day. However, an international conference in 1884 established the International Date Line (IDL) at 180° while allowing for local adjustments.[59] The Tonga missionaries sent letters to church leaders in Tahiti, Australia and the U.S. asking for advice, and even asked Ellen G. White for her opinion.[57] Replies were contradictory. It was not until 1901 that White sent a letter to Kellogg but her reply did not answer the question, it simply stated it was not his task to solve the problem of the dayline.[59] Time, circumstances and practice led to the 180° meridian being imposed by the Adventists as the IDL, and the SDA church in Tonga observes the Sabbath on Sunday. Historian, Kenneth Bain, in his 1967 book, The Friendly Islanders, claimed that SDA adherence to the 180 degree meridian is a face saving compromise which their pioneer missionaries searched out because the nation had strict Sunday laws. In 1970, Robert Leo Odom’s book, The Lord’s Day On A Round World was reissued by the Church with added chapters covering the Church’s Sunday observance in Tonga.[4][5]
In 1995, the time zone of Kiribati was changed so Adventists on the Phoenix and Line Islands observe Sunday. In 2011, the time zone of Samoa was changed to align the working week with that of Australia and New Zealand, placing these countries in the same time zone as Tonga. In August 2012, the SDA of Samoa confirmed that it would follow the example of Tonga and officially observe the Sabbath on Sunday rather than move the Sabbath in accordance with the changed time zone.
“...and so called Christians like you are hostile [to the Sabbath]...”
What have I said that makes you think that I am hostile to the Sabbath?? It is just your exhaltation of the Sabbath does not occur in the New Testament. If you want to observe the Sabbath, then have at it. But don’t try to condemn anyone else that has a different take on the subject. Honest people can honestly disagree and people like you have not been appointed to sit in judgment.
As Paul explained over and over, it is not keeping the law that garners you salvation. And Paul listed the works of the flesh that betray a hostility to God and and such hostility of course bars people from heaven and he did not mention the Sabbath in his long list.
Tell us: Is keeping the Saturday Sabbath necessary for salvation?
1 John 2:
…3By this we can be sure that we have come to know Him: if we keep His commandments. 4If anyone says, “I know Him,” but does not keep His commandments, HE IS A LIAR, and the truth is not in him. 5But if anyone keeps His word, the love of God has been truly perfected in him. By this we know that we are in Him:…
Liars will not be in heaven
You keep saying those Biblical Sabbaths are shadows..
They ARE Biblical Sabbaths and Jew and Gentile can know the 15th Day isn’t just an annual High Sabbath that Christ laid in the tomb, resting. It’s also the Weekly Sabbath that comes after 6 Days of Work. And it comes Before another 6 Days of Work.
Exactly what the Bible says. 6 days you should work. And the 7th Day is the Sabbath.
So for your marked by the Beast brain, heart and hands:
According to the scriptures:
There are 6 WORK DAYS BEFORE the 15th Day.
There are also 6 WORK DAYS AFTER the 15th Day.
Those 6 work days before the 15th Day are Days where Christ :
-arrived to Bethany and the Mount of Olives
-Triumphantly entered Jerusalem, cleansed the temple
-Entered Jerusalem in the AM again and taught
-Entered Jerusalem in the AM again and taught
-Entered Jerusalem in the Evening and was betrayed/arrested
-Put on trial, sentenced, scourged, crucified, buried
Note 6 days there, Vespa
The 7th Day?
Rested in the tomb
The 3rd Day from when He was crucified?
The 16th Day: Resurrection
So, 6 days, Sabbath
How about the 6 days after the Sabbath of the 15th?
In the 2nd month
15th Day, Arrive at wilderness of Sin, Assembled, grumbled
NEXT 6 Days?
-manna
-manna
-manna
-manna
-manna
-manna (double portion)
You marked by the Beast folks can’t buy gold refined by fire.
You’re too busy buying and selling what the Beast and Antichrist peddles..
You actually reject the Passover Lamb, the Word Made Flesh, to follow your Beast traditions..
Is that a yes or a no?
How to recognize an SDA radio program..same for internet.
“SABBATH! SABBATH! SABBATH! POLLY WANT A CRACKER! SABBATH! SABBATH! SABBATH!”
They, like the old Dog Soldiers have driven their SABBATH stake in the ground and all their salvation doctrines must be modified to revolve around it.
As for us, On Christ the solid rock I stand...
Ephesians 2: 4But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us,
5Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;)
6And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus:
7That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus.
8For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
9NOT OF WORKS, LEST ANY MAN SHOULD BOAST.
10For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.
“ For proper adherence to the law you really should be following Jerusalem time, or, wouldn’t it be philosophically correct to have the day begin near Jerusalem rather than the opposite side of the world?”
—————
No, that’s not true at all.
Jewish holidays ALL start at sundown and end at sundown. So to celebrate the Sabbath or any other holiday based on the time in Jerusalem would not be in accordance with Jewish law - except in and very near to Jerusalem. We live on a rotating globe - created by God to be that way, mind you - and since God is not anti-science (He created its rules, after all), then each person must start and finish holidays according to where they are at that time - even within time zones there’s a lot of variation (the eastern part has an earlier sunset than the western part of every single time zone).
An interesting and relevant fact is that until the advent of modern science and communications technology, it used to be that a group of Rabbis in Jerusalem would determine the beginning and end of each holiday, and word would be sent out to the rest of the Jewish world via messengers of one kind or another. Now that anybody can have access to information regarding the time at the sunsets on any given day at any location, and know this information pretty much instantaneously, such a system is not necessary. However, it should be noted that many synagogues still publish the beginning and end times for each Sabbath and other holiday in their newsletters or on their websites, and that most calendars sent out by synagogues and other Jewish-oriented organizations will have those times printed for everyone’s convenience. I, for example, receive a calendar each year from my local Chabad synagogue, which has the time printed for the locality in which my family and I live.
