Most of my students have either a smart phone or a tablet. At the end of the lesson, I have them make a short video of the items I want them to practice during the week. Not only does this little video provide a little motivation to practice, it also gives visual and audio reinforcement for the entire week. I wish people had these inventions when I took lessons! (back in the Mid-Twentieth Century! YIKES! 😱)

The Holy Spirit, being Omniscient, knows that we humans learn better when we actually see and experience something first hand. All of our senses are involved in learning. He anointed Ezekiel to be a "Show and Tell" Prophet. Either in Visions, or in real actions, The Holy Spirit directed Ezekiel to "Act Out" allegories which foretold The Destruction of Jerusalem.

However, just knowing that something BAD was going to happen didn't help anybody. This is why The Holy Spirit gave Ezekiel the Vision that is reported in Chapter 11 of the Book.

While it is probably a complete coincidence, "Chapter 11" is a type of Bankruptcy in our legal system. The Holy Spirit was telling Ezekiel that the Entire Temple, its Priests and Officials, and even its Worshipers, were Idolatrous, Corrupt, Blasphemous, and, indeed, Spiritually BANKRUPT.

Like a bank robber digging a hole through the wall of a bank, and only finding Counterfeit Money, Ezekiel's Vision has him digging a hole through the wall of The Holy of Holies, only to find people worshiping idols, weeping for a Babylonian Deity named Tammuz, and prostrating themselves before the "Sun God".

Sometimes seeing the video helps get the message across.
