🇺🇸Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem 🇮🇱(4/13/25)[Prayer]

Names and Titles of God the Holy Spirit
(Unchanging) Acts 2:38-39
38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
39 For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.

Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem

Oh LORD, Our God,
How Excellent Is Your Name Over All the Earth!
You Alone Are Worthy of Praise,
Honor, Glory and Worship,
For Your Alone Are The One True God!
Omnipotent, Omniscient, Omnipresent,
Holy Righteous, and Just,
There is No One Like You!
Our Creator, and Creator of All That Is,
You Are The Great I Am,
And All Of Creation Vibrates With Singing of Your Glory!
Let all that has been Concealed
Be Revealed.
Father, We Pray For The Peace Of Jerusalem,
According To Your Will and Promise.
We Pray That You Will Forgive The Sins
of Our Own Nation,
and Lead us all to Godly Repentance.
Create in Us Clean Hearts, Oh LORD,
and Renew a Right Spirit Within Us.
This we Pray Together,
As We Await Your Messiah,
Blessed Be He,
To Set Up His Kingdom,
And Make All Things Right.
”The Greatest Of these Is Love.”
If you would like to be on or off the Daily Ping List, please let me know.

Psalm 114
1 When Israel went out from Egypt,
the house of Jacob from a people of strange language,
2 Judah became God’s* sanctuary,
Israel his dominion.
3 The sea looked and fled;
Jordan turned back.
4 The mountains skipped like rams,
the hills like lambs.
5 Why is it, O sea, that you flee?
O Jordan, that you turn back?
6 O mountains, that you skip like rams?
O hills, like lambs?
7 Tremble, O earth, at the presence of the Lord,
at the presence of the God of Jacob,
8 who turns the rock into a pool of water,
the flint into a spring of water.

There seems to be a resurgence of interest in Vintage Keyboards lately. My first Electric Piano was a used Fender Rhodes It had a tiny little "roach" (the butt end of a marijuana cigarette, for those who aren't familiar with the term) melted into the plastic of one of the keys, as if the previous owner had placed it on the key and forgotten about it. It worked like a real piano, with little hammers hitting metal tines instead of strings. The Electronic part was in its amplification, as the mechanical action was the same as a real piano. It weighed nearly 90 pounds without the case and the legs, so I assume that the total package weighed more than 100 pounds. Schlepping that thing was a nightmare, especially up a flight of stairs. I considered trading it in for a Wurlitzer, which used wires instead of tines, thereby shaving off about twenty pounds, but the sound wasn't as good.
When, in the early 1980's, Casio and Yamaha came out with a portable keyboard that was ALL electronic, the difference in weight was dramatic. The first Yamaha Portasound had mini-keys and could fit in a backpack. The keys, however, offered no resistance (what we musicians call "Action"), and the sound was tinny and unrealistic. BUT! It was lightweight! What a concept! I eagerly snapped up every new Casio or Yamaha that came along.
Meanwhile, serious musicians searched for an Electronic Piano that SOUNDED like an Acoustic Piano, without the weight. Stevie Wonder played a Kurzweill, which had been developed right outside of Boston, MA. Roland and Korg were other good brands, but way too expensive for me. When it came to playing Piano, Rock Pianists like Elton John and Billy Joel had a (Real) Grand Piano onstage. Meanwhile, the Keyboard players in the Big Rock Bands sat on a throne surrounded on three sides by towering stacks of various keyboards, often with a Grand Piano thrown in for certain songs.
My present piano has 88 Keys, Weighted, Touch-Sensitive Action, sounds wonderful, and weighs about ten pounds. Nevertheless, when I teach, I love playing the Baldwin Upright that I recommended for my Student. I actually went to the Piano Store with my Student's Dad, and played a bunch of pianos until I found the right one.
I can't even put a number of the Electronic Keyboards that have passed through my hands. I imagine that somewhere, though, there is a musician playing my indestructible, Hundred Pound Fender Rhodes, complete with the legs, the case, the pedal, and the roach melted into the High C.
Today's reading from The Book of Acts is quoting Peter's First Sermon on the Day of Pentecost. Because of the visible Joy and Enthusiasm, as well as the Apostles speaking excitedly in different languages, some characters in the audience accused the Apostles of being "Drunk" at Nine in the the Morning. Peter was quick to assure the crowd that they were not "drunk" at all, but filled with The Holy Spirit. Then he speaks with Power and Authority, quoting Scripture, and citing Prophecy, proving his point.
He finishes his speech with the Assurance that this Power and Authority are GIFTS and will go on for Generation after Generation.
In the Generations that have passed since that First Pentecost of the Church, there have been as many versions of Christianity as there have been Electronic Keyboards. Some are very austere, and others abound in ritual. Some, like the Fender Rhodes, are authentic, but very heavy, others, like the first Casios, are long on convenience and innovation, but short on authenticity.
Some sound good, and others forbid any kind of "sound" at all. There are churches that forbid musical instruments, and other churches that have so many instruments on stage that there's no room for the pulpit.
Whatever style of Worship a church may have, it's important to Remember WHO we are Worshiping.
Maybe, somewhere, my old Rhodes is in a church somewhere. I'm sure that Holy Spirit can fix that "High C" key to HIS Glory.
Come and Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem, For Our FRiends in Need, For Persecuted Believers, and For Our Beloved Nation.
