On Feb. 10, Francis addressed a letter to all American Catholic bishops on immigration. His communique was titled “Letter of the Holy Father Francis to the Bishops of the United States.” Here is an excerpt of what he said.
“Dear Brothers in the Episcopate, the book of Exodus, invites us to look at the reality of our time, so clearly marked by the phenomenon of migration, as a decisive moment in history to reaffirm … the infinite and transcendent dignity of every human person.
“Even a cursory examination of the church’s social doctrine emphatically shows that Jesus Christ … did not live apart from the difficult experience of being expelled from his own land … having to take refuge in a society and a culture foreign to his own. …
“The family of Nazareth … were in exile,” said the pope. “[They were] emigrants in Egypt and refugees … [and] are the model, the example and the consolation of emigrants and pilgrims of every age and country, of all refugees who … are forced to leave their homeland … for foreign lands.”
Francis then emphasized “the dignity of every human being, without exception” and stated that “all the Christian faithful … are called upon to consider the legitimacy of norms and public policies in the light of the dignity of the person.”
He added that “this is not a minor issue,” saying, “the authentic rule of law is verified precisely in the dignified treatment that all people deserve.”
He concluded by saying, “I exhort all the faithful of the Catholic Church, and all men and women of good will, not to give in to narratives that discriminate against and cause unnecessary suffering” of any specific categories or groups of people.
How should Christians and all other “men and women of goodwill” respond ...?

Despicable man.
Last I heard, the man was virtually paralyzed from the neck down and couldn’t speak. Sounds like another Biden situation. Who’s pretending to be the Pope?
The wall around the Vatican.
Up to 14 feet high. 10-11 feet thick.
Pope Leo IV commissioned the construction of the first wall, known as the Leonine Wall, between 846 and 852 to protect St. Peter’s and surrounding areas from Saracen invasions. This wall, which was 39 feet high and 2 miles long, also included three fortified entrances.
Strengthening and Expansion:
In the 16th century, the walls were further fortified and extended to safeguard the Vatican’s growing wealth and papal power...
The walls of the Vatican do what walls are intended to do: protect the people inside from outside intruders. Yes, there are parts of the Vatican to which the public has ready access. But Vatican officials decide which parts you can visit, and when. And while you’re allowed to enter St. Peter’s Square whenever you like, you’re not allowed to stay.

In Italy there were women living on the sidewalk with a dog.
There were often in places where begging was not likely to pay well.
One man in Milan had fungal infections over much of his body, probably from drug use.
Stories the past few years have noted that Pope Francis has accelerated his naming of men who share his social justice ideas and loyalty to him. The inner circle who will direct the Conclave for his eventual successor are mirrors of his ideas and stances on issues.
Also, there is no group that can declare they have serious concerns that the Pope has lost the ability to reason and carry out his duties and thus replace him. This was discussed several times by Dr. David Anders on Call To Communion and elsewhere.
The above link is to the Italian language document increasing the penalties for entering the Vatican City State illegally (and they are quite substantial, including years in jail and heavy fines). It was promulgated on... wait for it... December 19, 2024! Just six days before Christmas! The irony would be comical if it weren't so evil.
Seems like an opportunity to share the gospel.
I’m all for providing temporary or permanent (as needed) refuge for legitimate asylum seekers (persecuted by their governments for select reasons) in the first safe place they can reach. Such situations probably accounted for significantly less than 1% of our recent flood.
He didn't do so badly as the Catholic Church seems to be thriving. It was the FIRST Catholic church.
Condemned Father Martin Luther didn't end up so well, did he? He did get a faith named after him....Lutherines.
I wonder what he thought of it, in the long run.
NOT challenging...just wondering.
That man in Milan could be from anyone of the billions of people who use drugs to mask their discontent with their lives.
Poor choices.
God told us how He wanted us to live via the ten commandments.
Went home to die. I wish he’d repent and get on with it
He’s a heretic, make no mistake whatsoever about that.
Anti pope Jorge. NOT the valid Pope.
How many miggies you got living with you Frankie? Are you allowing them the spend $42.00? Most of the Mamas are twice their normal size.
If only he would preach the Gospel. Or condemn real evils like abortion.
This!!
He is no Pope!
