[Catholic Caucus] HISTORY'S VERDICT: After 60 Years, Vatican II Was a Disaster

Is the Catholic Church better off today than it was in 1965?

Back in 2013, Pope Benedict XVI admitted that the Second Vatican Council had been co-opted and made into what he called the "Council of the Media," which led to "so many calamities, seminaries closed, convents closed, and the liturgy was banalized."

So, what really happened and why must every Catholic on earth remain forever loyal and true to Vatican II? And, for that matter, WHICH Vatican II -- the real one, or Benedict's "Council of the Media" which is the only one the world ever got to see (according to Benedict).

On this 60th Anniversary of the close of Vatican II, let’s finally get real about Vatican II . . .

Ponder this:

God permits trauma to bring us to correction, or to strengthen us.

Maybe V2, suppression of traditional latin mass with Custodes... and Pope Francis are God’s correction, like Babylon Captivity...etc

Suck it up, increase your love of Him, repent for abortion and birth control.....Jesus I Trust You.

Out of 25 cousins, I am the only one who is Catholic.
It gets worse. In 1976, I had over 150 kids in my Confirmation class. There was a shortage of priests, so the Archbishop declaired that it was okay for lay ministers to confirm us. We had one priest, one man and 2 women confriming us. I was confired by a woman. (Invalid) 75% of my class were invalid. How many fell away? How many would have had better lives if they had a valid confirmation.

To the church, we were a “women’s lib” joke.

I’m shocked, but not shocked, that anyone did that. But the 70s were crazy, for sure. The thing is, Confirmation provides real and necessary graces to live an authentically Catholic life. That the priest and bishop would play so casually with the sacrament betrays their own lack of faith, at least, especially since the bishop can easily delegate the priest to confer the sacrament if the bishop cannot do it for some reason. In any case it’s despicable. I hope you’ve had the opportunity to be validly confirmed since.

The ‘Third Society of Jesus’: Jesuits from Vatican II to the present
Looking at the more than four centuries of the history of the Society of Jesus, we are all used to talking about the “first” or “ancient” Society of Jesus (from the time of its foundation in the 16th century to its suppression in 1773) and the “second” or “new” Society (from its restoration in 1814 to the present day). But in more recent years we have also begun to speak of a “third” Society, generally active during the period from the Second Vatican Council until today. There have been many substantial changes in the life of the world and the Church that have been profoundly reflected in the Society of Jesus over the last six decades, leading us to consider them as a new historical period in the history of the Jesuits.[1]

The Second Vatican Council (1962-65) undoubtedly constitutes a watershed in the history of the Church and, consequently, in that of religious institutes, called to renew themselves in depth. During the Council, on October 5, 1964, the superior general of the Jesuits, the Belgian Jean-Baptiste Janssens, who had been ill for some time, died and the 31st General Congregation was convened for the election of his successor.
On May 22, 1965, Fr. Pedro Arrupe was elected general. He was able to participate in the last session of the Council and – after a period of interruption in the sessions of the Congregation – actively presided over the resumption and conclusion of the work of the Congregation itself. In the last months of 1966 this Congregation carried out a great work of revision of the government and of the life and activities of the Society of Jesus in the light of the indications of the Council.[2]...

Yes on April 24, 2021 I was Confirmed. The Archdiocese went back to my 1976 church and started looking up my classmates.

These days we have Extreme Faith Camp with Mass and Adoration every night. How would the world be different if we had that opportunity... Thank God the kids have it now.
