Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem (2/8/25)[Prayer]

Names and Titles of God the Holy Spirit
(Healer) Acts 4:8-11

8ย Then Peter, filled with the Holy Ghost, said unto them, Ye rulers of the people, and elders of Israel,

9ย If we this day be examined of the good deed done to the impotent man, by what means he is made whole;

10ย Be it known unto you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom ye crucified, whom God raised from the dead, even by him doth this man stand here before you whole.

11ย This is the stone which was set at nought of you builders, which is become the head of the corner.

King James Version

Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem

Our Father in Heaven
Hallowed be Your Most Holy Name!
How We Long For Your Kingdom,
How We Wait For Your Will to be Done,
Here on earth, as it already is, in Heaven!
You Are Our Peace,
Our Wholeness,
Our Shalom,
Our Security,
Our Prosperity,
and Our Future.
We are nothing without You.

Let all that has been Concealed
Be Revealed.

Father, We Pray For The Peace Of Jerusalem,
According To Your Will and Promise.
We Pray That You Will Forgive The Sins
of Our Own Nation,
and Lead us all to Godly Repentance.
Create in Us Clean Hearts, Oh LORD,
and Renew a Right Spirit Within Us.

This we Pray Together,
As We Await Your Messiah,
Blessed Be He,
To Set Up His Kingdom,
And Make All Things Right.

โ€The Greatest Of these Is Love.โ€

Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem

Back in the early nineties, I was involved in Music Ministry in a small Messianic Congregation. Our Pastor played Guitar, the Drummer was from my first band (pure coincidence!), Julie played Piano, and I led the Singing.

Julie was completely Blind, and had Studied Music at Perkins School For the Blind in Massachusetts. She was amazing! She had Perfect Pitch, and could play anything at the slightest hint. I envied her talent, but, of course did not envy her blindness. In fact, I wondered why she never asked to be healed of being Blind, even though, she believed that Nothing is Impossible with God, just like I did. However, the issue never came up.

Julie invited me to her first ever solo recital, which was to be held at The Perkins School's Beautiful Auditorium. Of course, I was eager to go, but I had a small, nibbling fear of being a "sighted" person in a sea of blind people. Would I be overcome with grief and compassion at all these people who were "handicapped"? Would they resent me because I could see? I just had no idea what to expect, because I had never been in that situation before. It is the "Unknown" that most of us fear the most.

I filed into the Auditorium, and realized that nobody cared that I was "sighted". Julie walked unaided to the stage and took her place at the magnificent Concert Grand Piano. Then she proceeded to play an eclectic program of Baroque, Classical, Romantic, and Modern Piano Works. Everything from Scarlatti to Mozart, Bach to Beethoven, Chopin, Liszt, and Debussy, and some Duke Ellington thrown in as well.

After the thunderous applause, she said to the Audience:

"Now it's your turn. Ask me for any song, and tell me what STYLE you want me to play."

There was a dead silence. After such a performance, what on earth could anyone suggest? I timidly raised my hand. Still Silence. Then I realized Julie COULDN'T see my hand. (Dawn breaks over Marblehead), and I shouted out:

"Hey Julie! Do the McDonald's Jingle in the Style of Mozart!"

"Sure Thing, Mary-Lou", she said, and then launched into a beautiful rendition of "You Deserve A Break Today", as if Wolfgang himself had written it as a Piano Sonata. (Exposition of Themes with two Subjects, Development of both Themes, and a Sparkling Recap) The Audience erupted into a Standing Ovation, and I was appropriately HUMBLED. Even with two good eyes and sheet music, I would NEVER be able to play like that.

However one may feel about Politics or the Economy, one must admit that we are so Blessed in The USA. In other countries I have visited (Mexico, The Caribbean, and The Middle East), there don't seem to be any special schools or programs for People with Diseases or Disabilities. It is not unusual to see disabled people begging, usually at the door of a House of Worship. Perhaps it is assumed that People of Faith will be more generous than the general population. Some religions make "Alms-giving" a Condition of Salvation, and, in Islam for example, it is considered one of the Five Pillars.

Peter was going up to the Temple on a marble staircase that stretched the entire facade of the Temple Mount. There sat a man who had been "crippled from birth", whose only way of survival was to beg alms of the pious people who were entering the Temple. He had been doing this every day for years.

Peter didn't have any money on him, but he was able, through the Healing Power of The Holy Spirit, to give the man something much more precious.

For this generous and benign act, Peter got arrested!

The "Powers-That-Be DO NOT like their "Apple Cart" to be upended.

Come and Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem, For Our FRiends in Need, For Persecuted Believers, and For Our Beloved Nation.

โ€ And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. The Greatest Of these Is Love.โ€ (1 Corinthians 13:13 KJV)

Blessings To All Who Visit This Garden of Prayer.

Hallelujah and Amen

Thank you for sharing this inspiring story!

PRaying now for Jerusalem and all of Israel.

Especially remembering those hostages that are still held captive in Gaza!

Joining in prayer for the Peace of Jerusalem and for our beloved America.

Husband got me involved in ham radio (his big hobby). We would visit the Deaf and Blind school, as hams has special equipment for handicapped to get on the radio.

Many kids came out of interest. When the radio was demonstrated, often the blind kids would say—Let me see that! (As they wanted a go of it.)

Interesting how seeing goes beyond seeing.

Amen. Great story. Dirty pride shows up and humbles us, doesn’t it?

Amen !!! <><

Psalm 101

Of David. A Psalm.

1 I will sing of loyalty and of justice;
to you, O Lord, I will sing.
2 I will study the way that is blameless.
When shall I attain it?

I will walk with integrity of heart
within my house;
3 I will not set before my eyes
anything that is base.

I hate the work of those who fall away;
it shall not cling to me.
4 Perverseness of heart shall be far from me;
I will know nothing of evil.

5 One who secretly slanders a neighbour
I will destroy.
A haughty look and an arrogant heart
I will not tolerate.

6 I will look with favour on the faithful in the land,
so that they may live with me;
whoever walks in the way that is blameless
shall minister to me.

7 No one who practises deceit
shall remain in my house;
no one who utters lies
shall continue in my presence.

8 Morning by morning I will destroy
all the wicked in the land,
cutting off all evildoers
from the city of the Lord.
