Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem (2/5/25)[Prayer]

Names and Titles of God the Holy Spirit
(Prophet) 1 Timothy 4:1-5

4 Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;

2 Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron;

3 Forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth.

4 For every creature of God is good, and nothing to be refused, if it be received with thanksgiving:

5 For it is sanctified by the word of God and prayer.

King James Version

Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem

Our Father in Heaven,
We Praise Your Holy Name!
You Alone Are Worthy of Worship,
For You Alone Are The One True God.
Omnipotent,
Omniscient,
And Omnipresent,
Teach us To Seek Your Face,
And Teach Us To Give Glory to You Alone.

Let all that has been Concealed
Be Revealed.

Father, We Pray For The Peace Of Jerusalem,
According To Your Will and Promise.
We Pray That You Will Forgive The Sins
of Our Own Nation,
and Lead us all to Godly Repentance.
Create in Us Clean Hearts, Oh LORD,
and Renew a Right Spirit Within Us.

This we Pray Together,
As We Await Your Messiah,
Blessed Be He,
To Set Up His Kingdom,
And Make All Things Right.

”The Greatest Of these Is Love.”

If you would like to be on or off the Daily Ping List, please let me know.

Back in 2005, I got a link in my email from a Dear Brother-In-Law who loved computers. He said that it was a really cool site for connecting to old classmates, saving digital photos, and sharing the news of the day. I clicked on the link, and found the site. There was a picture of my Brother-In-Law, his profile, his hobbies, and a short little sermon with a Bible Verse.

I had been struggling to maintain my own website for my business, and it cost over $100.00 a year. Here was an opportunity to do everything I wanted for FREE. I signed up, uploaded a great picture of me playing the bass, and waited for the "friends" to show up.

I saw that one could join "groups" that held similar interests, so I started signing up for them. Motorcyclists, Classical Musicians, Guitar Players, Keyboard Players, American History, Opera, Jazz Lovers, Honoring Veterans, Travel, etc. Members of the aforementioned "groups" contacted me almost instantaneously, asking me to be their "friend". For someone who NEVER was asked to "sit at the cool kids' table", I was enchanted. Suddenly, I was "POPULAR".

This went on for a couple of days, and I kept adding "friends" to my page. The Site actually froze my account at one point, because it assumed I was a robot. NOBODY could amass so many friends in that short amount of time! I was given three days to "cool my jets", and then became active again, a little bit miffed that "they" would accuse me of being a robot.

Once I was back in the swing of things, I joined a "Bass Players Group". Almost instantaneously, I received a "friend" request from Cairo, Egypt.

"Hello, Mary-Lou. My name is Abdul Amir, and I play Stand-Up Bass. I LOVE American Jazz and would love to get to know American Bass Players. I play in a Trio and do mostly the music of BeBop and Standards from the American Song Book. I'm so excited! We have a gig next month at the New Alexandria Library! It's the Gig of a Lifetime! Will you be my friend?"

Well, who could resist a letter like that. I "friended" Abdul, and then got a bunch of other requests:

"Hi Mary-Lou, I'm Tafiq. I play Rock Bass in Beirut Lebanon. Will you be my friend?"

"My name is Ali and I play Bass in Sharm El Sheik, Egypt. It's a great place for gigging with all the Red Sea Resorts. Will you be my friend?"

And so on.

"WOW," I thought. "This is amazing! Could it be that we musicians might bring Peace and Friendship to this miserable, troubled world? Could it be that American Jazz and Rock Music could bring about some kind of common bond of Friendship and Unity where politics and religion had failed so miserably?"

My Hippy-Dippy-From-The-Sixties dead flower burst into bloom once again. PEACE AND LOVE THROUGH MUSIC! WOO HOO!

The very next day, my "Wall" was plastered with Hate-Filled, Antisemitic, Jihad and Martyrdom glorifying, A-Q'aeda Videos.

I deleted my account FOREVER. I was so angry at MYSELF for letting this evil into my life. STUPID, STUPID, STUPID!!!! I hated myself for allowing myself to walk right into that evil nest of vipers.

When I was the Minister of Music at Biker Church, I missed a lot of events because they were announced on the Church's Facebook Page. My Pastor (RIP) urged me to sign back up onto FB so I wouldn't miss anything. I told him my story.

"That was ten years ago. FB has all kinds of Safety and Privacy Protocols in place now. Think of the Opportunities for Evangelism you're missing out on by not being on Facebook!"

(My response was a little acerbic, but that's how Bikers talk to one another.)

"St. Paul didn't have Facebook. All he had was a pen and a piece of paper. He did fine without Facebook."

From that point onward, I was notified of every event by email, phone, or in person. (For the record, I still Play Bass, and I'm STILL NOT on FB).

Speaking of St. Paul, Today's Scripture portion is from a Letter he wrote to a young Pastor named Timothy. he warns Timothy that The Holy Spirit has warned us that there will be false Prophets everywhere along the way. They appear sincere and holy at first, but then start "posting things on your wall" that contain distortions of Scripture, false prophecies, fake rules and regulations, and other distractions. Even with "the latest Privacy and Safety Protocols" in place, these characters can worm their way into your heart with their clever posturing. Paul wasn't telling Timothy to exclude strangers from their midst, nor was he telling him to isolate himself from the world with his little congregation. He was just telling him to be CAREFUL. Don't add to Scripture, and be a Good Shepherd always on alert for the wolves and bears that attack the flock

AND...be "tuned in" to the Holy Spirit.

Come and Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem, For Our FRiends in Need, For Persecuted Believers, and For Our Beloved Nation.

” And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. The Greatest Of these Is Love.” (1 Corinthians 13:13 KJV)

Blessings To All Who Visit This Garden of Prayer.

Hallelujah and Amen

Psalm 122

A Song of Ascents. Of David.

1 I was glad when they said to me,
‘Let us go to the house of the Lord!’
2 Our feet are standing
within your gates, O Jerusalem.

3 Jerusalem—built as a city
that is bound firmly together.
4 To it the tribes go up,
the tribes of the Lord,
as was decreed for Israel,
to give thanks to the name of the Lord.
5 For there the thrones for judgement were set up,
the thrones of the house of David.

6 Pray for the peace of Jerusalem:
‘May they prosper who love you.
7 Peace be within your walls,
and security within your towers.’
8 For the sake of my relatives and friends
I will say, ‘Peace be within you.’
9 For the sake of the house of the Lord our God,
I will seek your good.

It’s a shame that sometimes we have to learn the hard way.

Thank you for sharing your FB experience, ML.

It’s a great lesson.

Even if it got totally “reformed” and have the best safety features in the world, I was so spooked by that experience that I never looked back, and never regretted leaving.
