New wayside shrines depicting a fat, naked woman as the 'Mother of God' are being erected in the Archdiocese of Munich.
The shrines are being made for a pilgrimage route leading to the Church of Maria Eck, which is located above Siegsdorf in Bavaria.
The current wayside shrines represent the mysteries of the Rosary. They are over 50 years old and need to be renewed. Students from a nearby woodcarving school have been given the task. The project is financed by the district of Traunstein.
The state broadcaster Br.de recently presented the designs. The wayside shrine, which is said to be the coronation of the Virgin Mary, shows a fat, naked woman.
Similarly, the Assumption of Mary is depicted naked. The student who drew this picture said that she is not religious, but that she can "imagine something" about it.
The images will be cast in bronze and mounted on wooden columns. The final selection of designs will take place in February, followed by the casting of the bronze in March. The new "rosary" path is due to be completed in May.

OMG.
No words exist to adequately describe the depths of depravity of the perp running that joke of a church.
Just when you thought they couldn't go any lower.
We actually have likeness of of Our Lady and it hangs in a place called Guadalupe and It looks nothing like the pachymama wannabes in Munich.
Disgusting.
Even historically, this is not right.
The women during Christ time were all pretty slim, they had to work hard, walk everywhere and there was not that much food to get fat on!
And they were all modestly dressed and well covered!
Normally, one ought not to have to include a "Not Safe for Work" warning when linking to the image of a wayside shrine, but...
Quite reminiscent of another product of German craftsmanship:
It appears that the locals haven't made much progress in the past 30,000 years.
Regards,
Only primitive barbarians put ham beasts on a pedestal. Compare that to the depictions of women from various civilizations around the world - Chinese, Indian, Egyptian, Roman, Greek, Babylonian, Japanese, etc — women are shown as attractive and physically fit.
The image calls to mind the “Venus of Willendorf,” a statue of an ancient fertility goddess unearthed in Europe many years ago. I don’t know if the similarity is intentional, but it obviously has NOTHING to do with traditional Catholic teaching or iconography.
So another talent art student(by her own admission is not religious)decides to make & submit etchings that are insulting to those who are faithful & probably plans to bitch when her art work is not chosen! Stupid is as stupid does.
She's the Queen of Heaven and Earth.
See the lower image in my post #8!
Regards,
