Our Lord and Heavenly Father
Let Our Joy in Loving You,
Be so obvious that others are provoked to Jealousy.

Jerusalem Stone is a beautiful building material, and most of the ancient buildings in Jerusalem are either made of it, or faced with it. A city ordinance mandates that all new buildings be made with Jerusalem Stone, in order to maintain the character of the city. It comes in a number of colors, but most of it has a rosy, golden color, which, at sunrise or sunset, looks like Gold. A song from 1967 sings of this phenomenon: Jerusalem of Gold.

An Israeli customer of mine in Florida was a stonemason who dealt in this kind of stone, as it is very popular for walls, walkways and pavers. I was teaching his two little daughters piano, in a playroom on the ground level, adjacent to the garage.

Right in the middle of the lesson, there was a deep rumble of the garage door being opened. Both little girls leaped up from the piano, rushed to the door shrieking with glee.

"ABBA!!! ABBA!!!" they cried.

The man was hardly out of the car, and covered in pink stone dust, when the two girls jumped into his arms, hugging him, and laughing with delight. It was SO SWEET!

Recently, there has become a new cartoon fad among young children all over the world. A cartoon from Australia depicts a family of Aussie Cattle Dogs (Just like my Tippy) who live in a nice little house in a neighborhood of other dog families. The Dad is named Bandit Heeler, the Mom is Chili, and the two daughters are Bluey and Bingo. They are a traditional family, and nobody has superpowers or cybernetic body parts. They are just dogs who act like people. And the kids LOVE it. While the current crop of psychologists and academics might classify the Heeler family as "cisgender" or "normies", there is something that resonates with children. Bandit loves his two little "girls" and plays with them, takes them to the park, buys them ice cream, and patiently explains to them why the little bird they tried to rescue passed away. (I actually cried over that episode!) Of course "Bluey" merchandise is everywhere, and there are more Bluey toys and stuffed animals than anything else. Even if you don't have grandchildren, you have probably heard of Bluey.

Bluey loves her daddy, who dances around the living room with her, lets her make a fort out of sofa cushions and then crawls around in it, plays with her in the park, and who explains the Mysteries of Life and Death to her.

If Bluey were Israeli instead of Australian, she would probably call her Father "Abba".

"Abba" means more than just "Father, or even "Daddy". It gives a whole new dimension to our Relationship with Our Almighty Creator. One would think it would be presumptuous to call The King Of The Universe such an intimate Name. Just who do I think I am, anyway?

The Holy Spirit gives us that Right of Relationship. Here, in this Passage, He is called "The Spirit of God's Son".

Tomorrow we will explore how He does this, when He is called "The Spirit oif ADOPTION".
