Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem (1/7/25)[Prayer]

Names and Titles of God the Holy Spirit
(Spirit of Knowledge) 1 Corinthians 2:11

11 For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God.

Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem

Our Father in Heaven,
Hallowed be Your Name!
You Are Holy, Righteous and Just,
And yet, You reach out to Your Creation,
And Touch us daily with Your Holy Word!
How we Love to Worship You,
For Your Alone Are The One True God.
Omnipotent
Omniscient,
Almighty and Omnipresent,
You Are The GREAT I AM,
The Rock of Ages,
The Ancient of Days.
It is a Good thing to Give You Thanks!

Let all that has been Concealed
Be Revealed.

Father, We Pray For The Peace Of Jerusalem,
According To Your Will and Promise.
We Pray That You Will Forgive The Sins
of Our Own Nation,
and Lead us all to Godly Repentance.
Create in Us Clean Hearts, Oh LORD,
and Renew a Right Spirit Within Us.

This we Pray Together,
As We Await Your Messiah,
Blessed Be He,
To Set Up His Kingdom,
And Make All Things Right.

Happy New Year!

If you would like to be on or off the Daily Ping List, please let me know.

This is from a few years ago, but it goes well with Today's Scripture:

The Tour Agenda said:

"MT. ZION/UPPER ROOM".

I was so excited! As we crowded into the little "upper room", though, it seemed weird to me. This was not 1st Century architecture. The room looked like a strange amalgam of Crusader arches and Arabic inscriptions, like a church turned mosque, and back to a church again. The rest of the building housed a very strict Hebrew School, a Museum of the Holocaust, and a tomb purported to be that of King David, but nobody was really sure about that.

Then somebody in our group started to sing. Then we ALL started singing and praying, praying and singing, and shouting praises to the Lord. The little room seemed to be shaking and reeling about, but it was the people singing and praying that gave it the motion. The Book of Acts seemed to come alive.

Avi, our Guide, watched this entire spectacle from the doorway. As we were filing out, he said to me (in his charming Israeli accent),

"OK, there has been some controversy about if this is really the place where it happened. After today, I have no doubt that this is the place."

It didn't occur to me at the time, but I should have told him that it could have been any place, because "The Place" was in the Believers' HEARTS.

Looking back forty years to that experience, I still can feel the various "spirits" I encountered in The Holy Land. One particularly malevolent entity had seemed to take up residence in two different mosques, the one over Abraham's Grave in Hebron, and in the Dome of the Rock on the Temple Mount. In Hebron, I couldn't wait to get out of there, and at the Dome, there seemed to be a "Force Field" preventing me from even entering. This was a profound disappointment to me, because I KNEW I probably would never have the opportunity to see "The Rock" (Where Abraham is believed to have been commanded to sacrifice Isaac), ever again. I was right. Christians and Jews are now heavily restricted on the Temple Mount. It's a disgrace, because the site is more important to Christians and Jews than it is to Muslims.

But, as Avi said "there is some dispute about the place." Dispute, indeed. People get killed in such "disputes".

Meanwhile, Christians don't need Muslims or even Jewish People in order to engage in their own disputes among each other. The dispute over the actual site of Calvary goes all the way back to St. Helen, who could conceivably be called "The First Biblical Archaeologist". She claimed to have found it, and The Church of the Holy Sepulcher stands on the spot. (Yes, it's THAT old). An alternate site, near the Damascus Gate was proposed by General Charles Gordon, who noticed that the hill across the street from the gate looks exactly like a Skull. That's what "Calvary" means, by the way. I have been to both places, and both are worth seeing, even with the controversy.

What goes for the Upper Room goes for Calvary as well. The Holy Spirit doesn't live in buildings made of stone. He doesn't dwell in caves, or tombs, or even ancient churches. His Presence within the Believer manifests in various ways, either with The Gifts, or The Fruit, or just the general demeanor of the Person.

The Knowledge, Wisdom, Kindness, Discernment, and other qualities, set the Spirit-Filled Believer apart.

The Spirit-Filled Believer is the people go to for wise counsel, or relief from torment.

Our Pilgrimage is not to a "Place", but with a "Person".

Come and Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem, For Our FRiends in Need, For Persecuted Believers, and For Our Beloved Nation.

For whatever is hidden is meant to be disclosed, and whatever is concealed is meant to be brought out into the open. (Mark 4:22)

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Blessings To All Who Visit This Garden of Prayer.

Hallelujah and Amen

Did You Actually go to Jerusalem in the mid 90’s ? ——Because I Did.
Spent 10 days in the Old City with a Bible in one hand and a Camera in the Other.

I spent three weeks there in October of 1984. My Birthday was on Simchat Torah, and I spent the Day at the Wall celebrating. :-)

I was supposed to go again in 1992, but it was during the First Gulf War, and the State Dept canceled the trip.

Praying for the Israelites:

This is the way you shall bless the Israelites. Say to them,

24 The Lord bless you and watch, guard, and keep you;

25 The Lord make His face to shine upon and enlighten you and be gracious (kind, merciful, and giving favor) to you;

26 The Lord lift up His [approving] countenance upon you and give you peace (tranquility of heart and life continually).

27 And they shall put My name upon the Israelites, and I will bless them.

Tim Sheets said: The Scriptures sometimes state that “God’s face is turned toward us” or “He causes His face to shine upon us.” God turning His face toward someone refers to Him energizing them with strength from Heaven. The turning of His face toward us can mean His mercies light upon us, His compassion. It can refer to His grace extended to us, His favor. When the eyes of the Lord are on us, His supernatural power extends to us. Wherever Father sets His gaze, His power is there. Trust that His supernatural power can reach you wherever you are.”

Amen !!! <><

Psalm 121

A Song of Ascents.

1 I lift up my eyes to the hills—
from where will my help come?
2 My help comes from the Lord,
who made heaven and earth.

3 He will not let your foot be moved;
he who keeps you will not slumber.
4 He who keeps Israel
will neither slumber nor sleep.

5 The Lord is your keeper;
the Lord is your shade at your right hand.
6 The sun shall not strike you by day,
nor the moon by night.

7 The Lord will keep you from all evil;
he will keep your life.
8 The Lord will keep
your going out and your coming in
from this time on and for evermore.
