Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem (1/1/25)[Prayer]

Names and Titles of God the Holy Spirit
(Spirit of Peace) Colossians 3:15-17
15 And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful.
16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.
17 And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.
King James Version

Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem

Abba, Father Who Art in Heaven,
Blessed Be Your Holy Name!
How we love to sing Your Praises,
To Lift Up Your Holy Name in Worship,
For You Alone are Worthy of Praise.
For You are Holy,
Righteous and Just,
And Glorious in Majesty!
You Alone Are The One True God.
Perfect in All Your Ways
Ancient of Days,
King of Kings,
And Lord of Lords!
Let all that has been Concealed
Be Revealed.
Father, We Pray For The Peace Of Jerusalem,
According To Your Will and Promise.
We Pray That You Will Forgive The Sins
of Our Own Nation,
and Lead us all to Godly Repentance.
Create in Us Clean Hearts, Oh LORD,
and Renew a Right Spirit Within Us.
This we Pray Together,
As We Await Your Messiah,
Blessed Be He,
To Set Up His Kingdom,
And Make All Things Right.
Happy New Year!

I have great hopes for the coming year. My prayer for you is for Peace, Good Health, and Prosperity in 2025.
Twenty years ago, in 2005, South Florida had the nastiest Hurricane Season on Record, up to that time. There have been worse seasons since then, but, at the time, we were overwhelmed. One Hurricane after another: Katrina, Rita, and, worst of all WILMA, which left me with no electricity for almost a month. A ficus tree with a shallow root system came crashing down in front of my front door, and had to be hacked away with machetes before I could get out of the house. FEMA was nowhere to be found, and for months, it was neighbor helping neighbor. I learned a lot about people and government (and Insurance!) during that time.
Months later, Broward County offered each homeowner two trees to replace the ruined landscape. One only had to produce proof that one was a homeowner, so I grabbed the deed and drove to the County Yard. I chose two trees, both Fruit-Bearing, an Avocado and a Mango. I planted the Mango tree in the place where the ficus had been. Both trees were so small they fit in the back of my car.
The Avocado did OK, but the Mango Tree shot up twenty feet in the first year. Soon it was bursting with the sweetest, juiciest, most delicious Mangoes I had ever tasted. People would knock on my door, asking permission to take a few. Not only did I say that they could, I would also give them a seedling for their own Mango tree, from the seeds of Mangoes I had already eaten. Since Caribbean People use Mangoes in their cooking, I was thanked in Many Languages, Haitian Creole, French, Spanish, and , of course, English. It became a Ministry...my Mango Ministry, LOL!
This is a good time to reflect upon the Role of The Holy Spirit in the Life of the Believer.
We have talked about the "Charismatic" Gifts: Prophecy, Healing, Word of Knowledge, Word of Wisdom, Tongues, Interpretation of Tongues, Miracles, and the Discernment of spirits. There is some debate about whether any of these Gifts are in operation today, but I don't debate about it, I just believe they are. I sincerely think that the people who don't agree with me are so horrified at the abuses and fraud that goes on (because, who doesn't like a good miracle?), that they settle the matter in their own heart that these Gifts have ceased. That's a little like banning steak knives because some maniac used one to kill people. And so, they try to do the work of the Spirit without accepting the Gifts of the Spirit. They are my Brothers and Sisters in Christ, and I would never criticize them for their position. These Gifts are for the Edification of The Body of Christ...us.
The next set of Gifts are the ones spoken of in Isaiah 11. These Seven Gifts are listed in Roman Catholic Doctrine as being conferred upon the maturing Christian at Confirmation. They are: Wisdom, Counsel, Understanding, Fortitude, Knowledge, Piety, and Fear of God. Some of these overlap with the Gifts Paul describes in 1 Corinthians 12.
Finally, we have the Nine Fruits of The Holy Spirit, listed in Galatians 5:22-23. These are less visible to others, and might be called "Inner Gifts", love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.
Some of us got some really nice gifts for Christmas. A gift gets opened up, and it's yours. Fruit is different. First you have to plant the tree. Then you have to let it grow. It helps if you provide conditions in which the tree will thrive, but when it's ready, it bears Fruit. Of course, if the nasty Hurricane Season of 2005 hadn't uprooted my Ficus Tree, the Mango Ministry would never have been born. We sometimes have to get uprooted, turned upside down, and have to prune away the deadwood in order to bear Fruit. The Holy Spirit helps us in ways we don't understand, and what seems to be a catastrophe can turn out to be a Blessing.
Come and Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem, For Our FRiends in Need, For Persecuted Believers, and For Our Beloved Nation.
For whatever is hidden is meant to be disclosed, and whatever is concealed is meant to be brought out into the open. (Mark 4:22)
HAPPY NEW YEAR!
Blessings To All Who Visit This Garden of Prayer.
Hallelujah and Amen

Psalm 50
A Psalm of Asaph.
1 The mighty one, God the Lord,
speaks and summons the earth
from the rising of the sun to its setting.
2 Out of Zion, the perfection of beauty,
God shines forth.
3 Our God comes and does not keep silence,
before him is a devouring fire,
and a mighty tempest all around him.
4 He calls to the heavens above
and to the earth, that he may judge his people:
5 ‘Gather to me my faithful ones,
who made a covenant with me by sacrifice!’
6 The heavens declare his righteousness,
for God himself is judge.
Selah
7 ‘Hear, O my people, and I will speak,
O Israel, I will testify against you.
I am God, your God.
8 Not for your sacrifices do I rebuke you;
your burnt-offerings are continually before me.
9 I will not accept a bull from your house,
or goats from your folds.
10 For every wild animal of the forest is mine,
the cattle on a thousand hills.
11 I know all the birds of the air,*
and all that moves in the field is mine.
12 ‘If I were hungry, I would not tell you,
for the world and all that is in it is mine.
13 Do I eat the flesh of bulls,
or drink the blood of goats?
14 Offer to God a sacrifice of thanksgiving,*
and pay your vows to the Most High.
15 Call on me in the day of trouble;
I will deliver you, and you shall glorify me.’
16 But to the wicked God says:
‘What right have you to recite my statutes,
or take my covenant on your lips?
17 For you hate discipline,
and you cast my words behind you.
18 You make friends with a thief when you see one,
and you keep company with adulterers.
19 ‘You give your mouth free rein for evil,
and your tongue frames deceit.
20 You sit and speak against your kin;
you slander your own mother’s child.
21 These things you have done and I have been silent;
you thought that I was one just like yourself.
But now I rebuke you, and lay the charge before you.
22 ‘Mark this, then, you who forget God,
or I will tear you apart, and there will be no one to deliver.
23 Those who bring thanksgiving as their sacrifice honour me;
to those who go the right way*
I will show the salvation of God.’
