Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem

Our Father In Heaven,
Holy, Sanctified, and Blessed Are You,
Oh LORD, Our God,
King of The Universe!
You Alone Are Worthy to be Praised And Worshiped,
For You Alone Are LORD,
The Ancient of Days,
Our Rock and Our Redeemer!
Let the Earth Rejoice,
Let the Heavens Sing of Your Glory,
For You Have Preserved Your Word,
And Your People,
And Your Promise,
To This Day.
Let all that has been Concealed
Be Revealed.
Father, We Pray For The Peace Of Jerusalem,
According To Your Will and Promise.
We Pray That You Will Forgive The Sins
of Our Own Nation,
and Lead us all to Godly Repentance.
Create in Us Clean Hearts, Oh LORD,
and Renew a Right Spirit Within Us.
This we Pray Together,
As We Await Your Messiah,
Blessed Be He,
To Set Up His Kingdom,
And Make All Things Right.
God Bless America.

The following is a story I told back in 2019, when we were looking at the Book of Acts. The story about Agabus and Paul "conflicting" in their revelations from the Holy Spirit was the Bible Passage for that day.
My friend Anita felt called to be a missionary. She was, like my friend Lil, a Registered Nurse whose skills would be very welcome in any Third World country. But unlike Lil, who was called to Iron Curtain Countries (remember them?) and later to Islamic Countries where she smuggled Bibles under a Burka, Anita was called to a place a little closer to home, the impoverished Island of Haiti.
Since Anita was very young, very petite, very blonde, and very cute, everybody was against her going to Haiti. They imagined all kinds of horrible things were going to happen to her. Her pastor nearly refused to sponsor her, saying she was going to get herself KILLED or WORSE. Finally, after much prayer, he consented, and off she went.
In the 11 years she spent in Leoganne, Port-Au-Prince, and other parts of Haiti, she survived the collapse of two missions that she worked for, Nine Political Coups, Two Terrorist Guerrilla Raids, Five Hurricanes, Baby Doc, Aristede, The Clinton Embargo, (and a partridge in a pear tree?) and numerous droughts and downpours. She was not there for the big Earthquake but I am sure she would have survived that too. She has since married and has a beautiful daughter, but it could have just as easily gone differently. Indeed, Haiti was a dangerous place, but the ONLY time she felt in danger was the brief vacation she took across the border in the Dominican Republic, and her SUV was stolen, and she was verbally abused and threatened by the Police when she attempted to report the theft. (It is assumed that the police were the ones who stole the SUV in the first place!)
Elder Agabus was not being authoritarian when he prophesied that Paul would be arrested. He was speaking under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit and speaking the Truth. Paul WAS in danger. But Paul also had a calling which could not be denied.
Incidents like this one, and others in The Book of Acts may cause us to wonder. Why would The Holy Spirit seem to give one message to one person, and a different message to another?
I have struggled with this myself. Even Abraham Lincoln struggled with it, as he stated in his Second Inaugural Address that both sides in the recent War had prayed to the Same God.
Since The Holy Spirit is God and doesn't lie, what is going on?
The study of The Holy Spirit is a whole separate course in Seminary. It's called "Pneumatology", which sounds like an engineering course. The name comes from The Greek word for "spirit" (Pneuma), and from it we get words that have to do with breathing, lungs, air pressure, respiration, and so forth. The Word of God comes to us by The Holy Spirit, but, as we express the Word, it is filtered through our own desires, prejudices, interpretations, and emotions. A person we love is going into a dangerous situation, and our natural instinct is to warn that person. What we inhale becomes altered ever so slightly into what we exhale. Both people are correct, in that they are both hearing from the Holy Spirit. We are not, however, automatons that just spout prophecy verbatim. A person's calling is just that: a Personal Calling. Agabus was right that Paul was going to be arrested, Anita's Pastor was right that Haiti was (and still is) a dangerous place, and both Anita and Paul were right because they had been given this Calling.
I've never taken the "Pneumatology Course", but it is interesting that, in both Hebrew and in Greek, the word for The Holy Spirit is the same as the word for "Air". You can't hold "air" in your hand, nor can you live without it. Scripture tells us that The Holy Spirit is "The Spirit of Christ". Christ is Fully God and Fully Man.
He is The Spirit of Life. We can't live without Him.
Come and Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem, For Our FRiends in Need, For Persecuted Believers, and For Our Beloved Nation.
For whatever is hidden is meant to be disclosed, and whatever is concealed is meant to be brought out into the open. (Mark 4:22)
God Bless America.
Blessings To All Who Visit This Garden of Prayer.
Hallelujah and Amen

Psalm 136
1 O give thanks to the Lord, for he is good,
for his steadfast love endures for ever.
2 O give thanks to the God of gods,
for his steadfast love endures for ever.
3 O give thanks to the Lord of lords,
for his steadfast love endures for ever;
4 who alone does great wonders,
for his steadfast love endures for ever;
5 who by understanding made the heavens,
for his steadfast love endures for ever;
6 who spread out the earth on the waters,
for his steadfast love endures for ever;
7 who made the great lights,
for his steadfast love endures for ever;
8 the sun to rule over the day,
for his steadfast love endures for ever;
9 the moon and stars to rule over the night,
for his steadfast love endures for ever;
10 who struck Egypt through their firstborn,
for his steadfast love endures for ever;
11 and brought Israel out from among them,
for his steadfast love endures for ever;
12 with a strong hand and an outstretched arm,
for his steadfast love endures for ever;
13 who divided the Red Sea* in two,
for his steadfast love endures for ever;
14 and made Israel pass through the midst of it,
for his steadfast love endures for ever;
15 but overthrew Pharaoh and his army in the Red Sea,*
for his steadfast love endures for ever;
16 who led his people through the wilderness,
for his steadfast love endures for ever;
17 who struck down great kings,
for his steadfast love endures for ever;
18 and killed famous kings,
for his steadfast love endures for ever;
19 Sihon, king of the Amorites,
for his steadfast love endures for ever;
20 and Og, king of Bashan,
for his steadfast love endures for ever;
21 and gave their land as a heritage,
for his steadfast love endures for ever;
22 a heritage to his servant Israel,
for his steadfast love endures for ever.
23 It is he who remembered us in our low estate,
for his steadfast love endures for ever;
24 and rescued us from our foes,
for his steadfast love endures for ever;
25 who gives food to all flesh,
for his steadfast love endures for ever.
26 O give thanks to the God of heaven,
for his steadfast love endures for ever.
