I grew up in Boston, MA, a City which was very prominent in The American Revolution. There are Historic Buildings everywhere, as well as The USS Constitution. Dad took us kids there frequently, as well as to other Historic Places in and around Boston. He instilled in us a wonderful spirit of History and Patriotism.

All around Boston, especially at the Airport, are shops that sell Souvenirs of the City. Little models of the USS Constitution and Bunker Hill Monument, "BOSTON" T-Shirts and Hoodies, Full Color Coffee Table Books with the beautiful photos, Flags, Tri-Cornered Hats, and, especially, Sports Memorabilia from the Red Sox, the Patriots, the Celtics, and the "Broons" (Bruins). Memorabilia is Good Business!

Paul's Adventures in the City of Ephesus are worthy of Cinema, as there is a lot of action and dialogue. First of all, Ephesus was a very cosmopolitan city, and was home to one of "The Seven Wonders of The Ancient World". This "Wonder" was the Temple of Artemis (or Diana), and no longer stands today. At the time, though, it was a huge Tourist Attraction. (For the Record, only ONE of the original "Seven Wonders" still stands today. It is, of course, The Great Pyramid at Giza.) Even today, Tourists got to the not-so-pleasant city of Cairo, just to see the Great Pyramid. And, like Boston, the Souvenir Vendors are everywhere, selling little Egyptian gods and goddesses to Tourists. Even though Egypt is a Muslim Country, which bans such images, there's MONEY to be made!

All of the Seven Wonders were big Tourist Attractions and brought lots of business to their respective cities. Ephesus was no exception. There was a thriving trade of little silver replicas of the statue of Artemis that stood in the Temple. Imagine going all the way to one of the Seven Wonders of the World, and NOT bringing home a souvenir. The problem was that these were not just a souvenir, like a Red Sox Hoodie or a Bunker Hill Fridge Magnet. They were, in fact, objects of devotion for the Tourists, who felt that they were bringing home a little bit of the goddess they had just traveled miles to visit.

The Silversmiths and Merchants knew that the Temple of Artemis was big business and kept the city afloat. Along with the statues, they also sold books about Fortune-Telling and the Occult, and other things that were supposed to invoke the favor of the goddess.

Then along comes Paul, teaching that there is only ONE God, Who doesn't like idols. From the ensuing dialogue, the ringleader of the Silversmiths (named Demetrius) indicates that he is more concerned with "Business" than with actual "worship", but he is able to stir up a big crowd by saying that Paul is insulting the goddess. The result is a slogan ("Great is Artemis of the Ephesians!") and really gets the crowd going. This is so much like Modern Times. Get a slogan ("Black Lives Matter!","Free Palestine!", "Hands Off My Body!"), and you have an instant riot on your hands. Imagine the cinematic opportunities for an aspiring filmmaker.

Paul's constant Companion during all this craziness was The Holy Spirit. God was there for Paul through Riots, Beatings, Stonings, Prison, Shipwreck, and even a huge Murder Plot.

Trying to site every appearance of The Holy Spirit in the Book of Acts has become a somewhat daunting task. Maybe the Book should have been called "The Acts of The Holy Spirit".

Nahhh. I'm not qualified to change ANYTHING that's in the Bible!
