I was ranting about Robocalls, when my sister suggested that I don't answer the phone if it is a number I don't recognize.

That particular tactic doesn't work for me, because I often get calls inquiring about lessons, and I don't want to turn away my chance to make a living. Unfortunately, I have to answer every call and be subjected to a fake recorded voice trying to sell or scam me.

They have gotten so good at this, that it's sometimes hard to tell the difference. Uptalk, Vocal Fry, vocal mannerisms like chuckles and hesitation sounds, all contribute to the simulated voice to make it sound like a real person. Even AI has come into use, with responses cued by what you say. Here is an example of a recent one:

Me: " Hello?"

Cheery Female Voice: "Is this Mary-Lou?"

Me:"Who is this?"

CFV:" This is Sherrie from Your Medicare Provider. Is this Mary-Lou?"

Me:"Are You A Robot?"

CFV: (after an odd pause)(fake chuckle) "That's a Funny Question. Is this Mary-Lou?"

Me: Who ARE you?"

CFV: " This is Sherrie from Your Medicare Provider. Is this Mary-Lou?"

Me: "You ARE a ROBOT!"

Then the slammed down phone, and the number gets blocked.

I suppose I could have hung up immediately, but that's not nearly as much fun. LOL. I am on the "No Call List", but that is obviously useless. It bothers me that there are some Senior Citizens who actually think they are talking to a real person, and could very easily get scammed into providing their Social Security or Medicare numbers. It's pretty disgusting.

It's getting more and more difficult to tell the difference between AI and a Real Person. We may think this is a new phenomenon, but people have been making a similar error (though reversed) with regard to The Holy Spirit for centuries.

The error is the depersonalization of the Holy Spirit, and thinking of Him as a "Force". (The "Force" in the Star Wars Fantasy is the taking of this heresy to its extreme conclusion). This probably is the result of the misunderstanding or nonacceptance of the concept of The Trinity. Since we only believe in ONE God, then Jesus must have been just a man, a very GOOD, man, and maybe an "Exalted" man, but a man nonetheless. The Holy Spirit would have to be just a Force, perhaps a metaphor for the Power of God, or even more heretical, the Female counterpart to God The Father. (I know...weird, but there were whole books like this in the seminary).One only needs to look at the original Hebrew and Greek to see that The Holy Spirit is always presented with Masculine Pronouns and Endings. Most of these Scripture Portions also indicate that The Holy Spirit is a Person, not a "Force". He can be grieved (Ephesians 4:30), lied to (Acts 5:1-4), and tested (Acts 5:9).

And, as Peter states here, He is God. Just like the Father and the Son are God. But They are ONE.

That's beyond our understanding, but there you are.

If humans feel that they can choose their own pronouns, we should respect the Spirit of God to have that same right. He chooses He/Him, NOT "She/Her" or even "It".

He is a PERSON, and should be respected as such.
