Beloved Father,
How Precious and Wonderful is Your Most Holy Name!
You Alone Are Worthy of Worship and Praise,
For You Alone Are The One True God,
Almighty and Eternal,
Glorious and Transcendent,
Rock of Ages,
Ancient of Days,
King of Kings,
and Lord of Lords!

Let all that has been Concealed
Be Revealed.

Father, We Pray For The Peace Of Jerusalem,
According To Your Will and Promise.
We Pray That You Will Forgive The Sins
of Our Own Nation,
and Lead us all to Godly Repentance.

The following is a scene from the TV Series "The Spranos. Tony and Bobby are seated in a diner, eating (It seems that 90% of the action in the series involved eating.) The scene was in the episode shortly after the Attack on America on 9/11/01.

Bobby Baccilieri: World really went downhill after the World Trade Center. You know, Quasimodo predicted all of this.

Tony Soprano: Who did what?

Bobby Baccilieri: All these problems, the middle east. The end o' the world.

Tony Soprano: Nostradamus. Quasimodo's the hunchback of Notre Dame.

Bobby Baccilieri: Oh, right. Notredamus.

Tony Soprano: Nostradamus and Notre Dame, that's two different things completely.

Bobby Baccilieri: It's interesting though they'd be so similar, isn't it? And I always thought, "OK, Hunchback of Notre Dame. You also got your quarterback and your halfback of Notre Dame".

Tony Soprano: One's a (expletive) cathedral!

Bobby Baccilieri: Obviously, I know. I'm just sayin'. It's interesting, the coincidence. What, you're gonna tell me you never pondered that? The back thing with Notre Dame?

Now, just in case you think I've finally gone off my rocker quoting a scene from The Sopranos on a Prayer Thread, let me explain.

Human beings have always been fascinated by Prophecy. TV Documentaries, Movies, Novels, and even whole Religious Groups have as their focus the interpretation (or Misinterpretation) of prophecy.

Everybody wants to know what's going to happen, but they can't do anything to stop it, and only recognize the prophecy after it's fulfilled. Sometimes, like Bobby's interpretation of "Quasimodo", the prophecy is so obscure it could mean anything.

The Old Testament has many Prophecies that were fulfilled by Jesus when He First Came to Earth. A lot of them are in Isaiah, but there are also many in Psalms, Micah, and even Genesis. This page from "Got Questions" is very helpful.

One of the most interesting Prophecies in the Old Testament is Ezekiel 37, the Prophecy of the Dry Bones. If Ezekiel saw in his Vision a newsreel from 1945 to 1948, it could have very easily triggered his prophetic words. Imagine seeing a silent movie of the Holocaust, the Return of the Jews to the Middle East, and the Foundation of The Modern State of Israel. How would you put that into words?

Many of the Prophecies of Jesus's First Appearance show up in the Writings of King David. We even read the last Words of Jesus on the Cross, as well as a brutal description of Crucifixion, in Psalm 22.

Peter describes these words as coming from The Holy Spirit, and put into the mouth of David. Even the betrayal of Judas was predicted, in Psalm 41. This affirms that no prophecy arises from our own talent or agency, but by The Holy Spirit. Peter says, later on in his second Letter:

…19 We also have the word of the prophets as confirmed beyond doubt. And you will do well to pay attention to it, as to a lamp shining in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts. 20 Above all, you must understand that no prophecy of Scripture comes from one's own interpretation. 21 For no such prophecy was ever brought forth by the will of man, but men spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit.…

Be very careful with people who call themselves "prophets". The ONLY Prophet is The Holy Spirit, and we are just His Vessels.
