Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem

Oh LORD,
Our God,
How Excellent is Your name Over All The Earth!
Blessed Are You,
King of The Universe,
And Sanctified is Your Most Holy Name!
How Happy we are to be called of You,
To Come into Your House With Singing and Praise,
To Exalt Your Name Together, Forever!
We Seek You,
and Find You,
And You Deliver Us From Our Fears.

Let all that has been Concealed
Be Revealed.

Father, We Pray For The Peace Of Jerusalem,
According To Your Will and Promise.
We Pray That You Will Forgive The Sins
of Our Own Nation,
and Lead us all to Godly Repentance.
Create in Us Clean Hearts, Oh LORD,
and Renew a Right Spirit Within Us.

This we Pray Together,
As We Await Your Messiah,
Blessed Be He,
To Set Up His Kingdom,
And Make All Things Right.

God Bless America.

Psalm 106 (1-15)

1 Praise the Lord!
O give thanks to the Lord, for he is good;
for his steadfast love endures for ever.
2 Who can utter the mighty doings of the Lord,
or declare all his praise?
3 Happy are those who observe justice,
who do righteousness at all times.

4 Remember me, O Lord, when you show favour to your people;
help me when you deliver them;
5 that I may see the prosperity of your chosen ones,
that I may rejoice in the gladness of your nation,
that I may glory in your heritage.

6 Both we and our ancestors have sinned;
we have committed iniquity, have done wickedly.
7 Our ancestors, when they were in Egypt,
did not consider your wonderful works;
they did not remember the abundance of your steadfast love,
but rebelled against the Most High* at the Red Sea.*
8 Yet he saved them for his name’s sake,
so that he might make known his mighty power.
9 He rebuked the Red Sea,* and it became dry;
he led them through the deep as through a desert.
10 So he saved them from the hand of the foe,
and delivered them from the hand of the enemy.
11 The waters covered their adversaries;
not one of them was left.
12 Then they believed his words;
they sang his praise.

13 But they soon forgot his works;
they did not wait for his counsel.
14 But they had a wanton craving in the wilderness,
and put God to the test in the desert;
15 he gave them what they asked,
but sent a wasting disease among them.

Yesterday, I spoke a little bit about the breakup between East and West in Church History. This Rift has become known as The Great Schism of 1054, and has not been resolved to this day. One of the key disputes leading to this schism were the differences in understanding the Nature of The Trinity and, in particular, The Holy Spirit. This is quite understandable, as these matters are "Above the Arch" as Systematic Theology Professor Michael Patton would say. That means simply that it is beyond our Human Understanding. (By the way, I took that entire online course and loved it.)

It is seriously unwise to get into an argument about things that are "Above the Arch". After all, how can one debate about a subject that neither party can fully understand?

In Yesterday's Scripture, the Eastern view was supported as Jesus said that The Father would send the Comforter. In Today's Scripture, the Western View seems to be that Jesus would send the Comforter. And we know that, since The Comforter is The Holy Spirit, an Equal Person in the Holy Trinity, He could come of His own volition as well. Like I said: "Above the Arch".

Religion is like Politics: It is better to focus on the things we agree on rather than those things we disagree on. (Of course, some differences are so egregious that they can't be ignored.)

The important thing is that Jesus is Promising The Comforter, and He WILL keep that Promise.

Come and Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem, For Our FRiends in Need, For Persecuted Believers, and For Our Beloved Nation.

For whatever is hidden is meant to be disclosed, and whatever is concealed is meant to be brought out into the open. (Mark 4:22)

God Bless America.

Blessings To All Who Visit This Garden of Prayer.

Hallelujah and Amen

Professor Patton actually draws an ARCH on the blackboard, and writes the qualities of of God that we can never “achieve” above the arch.

It’s a profound illustration.
