Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem

Our Father In Heaven,
Holy and Sanctified is Your Most Wonderful Name!
You Alone Are Worthy,
You Alone Are LORD,
You Alone Are The Most High!
You Alone Are The One True God Of The Universe,
You Are The Ancient Of Days,
LORD of Hosts,
and Rock of All Ages,
Our Creator,
You Have Made Us,
and All That Is.
You Are The Same Yesterday,
Today, and Forever.
Your Loving Kindness Is from Everlasting To Everlasting.
Even When We Are Unfaithful,
You Are Always Faithful.
Let all that has been Concealed
Be Revealed.
Father, We Pray For The Peace Of Jerusalem,
According To Your Will and Promise.
We Pray That You Will Forgive The Sins
of Our Own Nation,
and Lead us all to Godly Repentance.
Create in Us Clean Hearts, Oh LORD,
and Renew a Right Spirit Within Us.
This we Pray Together,
As We Await Your Messiah,
Blessed Be He,
To Set Up His Kingdom,
And Make All Things Right.
God Bless America.

Those who read this thread may remember an article I wrote some time ago concerning a College Course entitled "Conflict Management". You may also recall that my friend explained that the title of the course used to be "Conflict Resolution", but they changed it. My friend and I didn't get to discuss it further, because we were at a cookout and there were lots of people there conversing and having a great time. However, the Title Change left an impression on me, because I am a "FIXER". Some of you may be able to relate to this. When a conflict arises, my first impulse is to "FIX" it. I want to be the big "Problem-Solving-Guru", The "Knight-In-Shining-Armor", the "Go-To-Gal" with the fix for every situation. When someone asked for prayer, I would give advice. When someone told me of an affliction, I would advise a recipe for a cure. Sometimes, people don't want advice. They just need someone to comfort them, listen to them, and pray for them. Although my "fixing" came from a sincere heart, it was not always the best thing for the conflict. Many times, the conflict can't be resolved right away, but it can be managed. May God continue to teach me the difference between the two types of situations!
The friend in this story moved from South Florida to Asheville, NC about nine years ago. Palm Beach County was, I guess, too conservative for her (!). We corresponded for a few years, but our politics became too divergent and we lost touch. I have been praying for her since the disaster that has befallen her town, but I saw on her daughter's webpage that she is doing a Benefit Concert to help relief efforts. That made me proud, because I was her guitar teacher many years ago. If she's doing concerts, that would probably mean that her parents are safe and accounted for.
In Today's Scripture, Jesus tells His Disciples about The Holy Spirit bringing remembrance to them of all the things Jesus taught. This has a number of meanings:
1. Inspiration of Scripture: We are so blessed to have the Testimony of the Four Gospels and The Book of Acts. These five books bring to remembrance the life, deeds, and teachings of Jesus in an easily read and understood format. They are not arcane tomes of secret knowledge that need special initiation to understand. Perhaps that's why there are so many "Jesus Movies" and TV Series out there, based on them. There is even a dramatization of the Book of Acts which is the exact text of the Book, dramatized by well-known actors. These Books are meant for us all, and have inspired people for centuries. The Evangelists were diverse individuals who each had his own perspective, but The Holy Spirit brings to remembrance the essential teachings of Jesus in all four.
2. Prayer Life: We often don't know what we should be praying about. Certainly, there are Psalms and The Lord's Prayer, and those are wonderful. There are times, though, when God calls us to be Intercessors, when we partner with The Holy Spirit to pray for someone who needs it. An example of this was the little story about "Conflict Management" that I shared at the beginning of this post. The Lord led me to the old thread where I talked about this, and then led me to pray for my student's family in Asheville. I entered my student's name in my search engine and found out about her Benefit Concert. The Holy Spirit must have brought them all to my Remembrance, because it's been YEARS since we had any contact.
3. Conflict RESOLUTION: The Comforter is more than just "a shoulder to cry on", although He can do that for you too. The Greek word (Paraclete) that is translated "Comforter" is actually a legal term meaning Advocate, Mentor, Teacher, Encourager, Helper, and, yes, "FIXER". He can bring to remembrance the Teachings of Jesus that can unravel the knots which are often of our own making. A word, a Scripture passage, an Example, or even a previous experience, brought to remembrance, can often be the solution to a problem. Sometimes we have to struggle in Prayer, like Jacob with the Angel, other times we will be still before God and The Holy Spirit will gently whisper the solution.
May He bring to remembrance all you need to experience His Fullness in your life.
Come and Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem, For Our FRiends in Need, For Persecuted Believers, and For Our Beloved Nation.
For whatever is hidden is meant to be disclosed, and whatever is concealed is meant to be brought out into the open. (Mark 4:22)
God Bless America.
Blessings To All Who Visit This Garden of Prayer.
Hallelujah and Amen

Psalm 149
1 Praise the Lord!
Sing to the Lord a new song,
his praise in the assembly of the faithful.
2 Let Israel be glad in its Maker;
let the children of Zion rejoice in their King.
3 Let them praise his name with dancing,
making melody to him with tambourine and lyre.
4 For the Lord takes pleasure in his people;
he adorns the humble with victory.
5 Let the faithful exult in glory;
let them sing for joy on their couches.
6 Let the high praises of God be in their throats
and two-edged swords in their hands,
7 to execute vengeance on the nations
and punishment on the peoples,
8 to bind their kings with fetters
and their nobles with chains of iron,
9 to execute on them the judgement decreed.
This is glory for all his faithful ones.
Praise the Lord!

Amen. Reminds me of “If any of you is deficient in wisdom, let him ask of the giving God [Who gives] to everyone liberally and ungrudgingly, without reproaching or faultfinding, and it will be given him.”
