Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem

Our Father in Heaven,
How Blessed and Holy is Your Most Wonderful Name!
Sanctified,
Magnified,
and Blessed are You,
Oh LORD, Our God, King of The Universe,
Ancient of Days,
Rock of Ages!
Let our Song Praise Your Saving Power,
For You, Amidst the Raging Foes,
Are Our Sheltering Tower.
Almighty God,
Thank You for Your Holy Word,
Thank You For Your Covenant and for Your Grace.
Thank You For Your Law and Your Justice,
The Very Foundation for Our Freedom,
For Our Laws,
and For Our Republic!

Let all that has been Concealed
Be Revealed.

Father, We Pray For The Peace Of Jerusalem,
According To Your Will and Promise.
We Pray That You Will Forgive The Sins
of Our Own Nation,
and Lead us all to Godly Repentance.
Create in Us Clean Hearts, Oh LORD,
and Renew a Right Spirit Within Us.

This we Pray Together,
As We Await Your Messiah,
Blessed Be He,
To Set Up His Kingdom,
And Make All Things Right.

God Bless America.

All my life, I have had difficulty holding back tears. This hypersensitivity caused the bullies great delight all through school, as they figured out quickly how to push my buttons and turn me into a quivering, weeping, mess. The irony was that, in really dire situations, I was calm and competent. Motorcycle Accidents, being a Passenger on a 757 which had to make an Emergency Landing, and, of course, the incident when my dearest friend died in my arms in an open helicopter over and erupting volcano (you can't make this stuff up!) all saw me being ultra cool, large, and in charge. Go figure. A snippy word, a little rejection, or a feeling of abandonment, could trigger an eruption, while a REAL emergency would seem to get not emotional response at all.

Over the years, hanging out with Bikers and Rock Musicians has tempered those emotions a bit (LOL). You can't be a crybaby when ministering to a bunch of tough old Bikers.

Today's Scripture occurs during an incident that is only recorded in the Book of John. A dear friend of Jesus, named Lazarus, is very sick. Lazarus's two sisters send a messenger to Jesus, who is out of town, to please rush home and heal their brother. That's a good, faithful prayer. The sisters were not being inappropriate asking for a healing. They had total faith that Jesus could do this for them, and assumed that He would drop everything and hurry home to answer their prayer.

Jesus, inexplicably, delays his return, and Lazarus DIES. This looks like a failure on His part to answer the sisters' prayer. Why would He do such a thing?

Jesus explains to His disciples that the delay would give God even greater glory than a mere healing. By the time Jesus gets back to Bethany, Lazarus has been in the tomb four days. He's really dead, not just in a coma. Things look really bad for Jesus. Why did He delay?

It is in this story that we read the shortest verse in the whole Bible: Jesus Wept. Why did He weep? He knew He was going to raise Lazarus from the dead. Yet He mourned the loss of His friend as well as the feeling the despair and bereavement surrounding Him. Many scholars theorize that He was also mourning the people's unbelief, the future destruction of Jerusalem (only 40 years hence), and true sadness for the family of the deceased. The Gospel says He sighed deeply in His spirit. The word is the same as for The Holy Spirit "pneuma" STRONG'S 4151, but it is rendered in lower-case, meaning that inner part of being that we all possess.

This shows that Jesus was Fully Human as well as Fully Divine, and could experience grief, sadness, loss, and mourning with His friends and relatives.

He feels what we feel, weeps with us in our distress, rejoices with us in our victories, and comforts us in our grief, because He has BEEN there.

Come and Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem, For Our FRiends in Need, For Persecuted Believers, and For Our Beloved Nation.

For whatever is hidden is meant to be disclosed, and whatever is concealed is meant to be brought out into the open. (Mark 4:22)

God Bless America.

Blessings To All Who Visit This Garden of Prayer.

Hallelujah and Amen

Psalm 112

1 Praise the Lord!
Happy are those who fear the Lord,
who greatly delight in his commandments.
2 Their descendants will be mighty in the land;
the generation of the upright will be blessed.
3 Wealth and riches are in their houses,
and their righteousness endures for ever.
4 They rise in the darkness as a light for the upright;
they are gracious, merciful, and righteous.
5 It is well with those who deal generously and lend,
who conduct their affairs with justice.
6 For the righteous will never be moved;
they will be remembered for ever.
7 They are not afraid of evil tidings;
their hearts are firm, secure in the Lord.
8 Their hearts are steady, they will not be afraid;
in the end they will look in triumph on their foes.
9 They have distributed freely, they have given to the poor;
their righteousness endures for ever;
their horn is exalted in honour.
10 The wicked see it and are angry;
they gnash their teeth and melt away;
the desire of the wicked comes to nothing
