Book by Eric Metaxas Letter to the American Church.
Synopsis.
Eric Metaxas wants to inspire Christians to take courage, have faith, and speak up for the truth in God’s word. Beyond that, his goal is to encourage the church to let go of the idea that they don’t belong in matters of the state and stop being afraid to take political stances.
Metaxas seeks to sound the alarm that the American church is guilty of silence in the face of dangerous political and cultural threats that is akin to the silence and complicity of the German Church during the rise of Nazism in 1930s Germany.
He identifies the political and cultural threat to be the rise of globalism and an atheist Marxist ideology that leads to Critical Race Theory, radical transgenderism, and a pro-abortion agenda.
Study says 32 million Christians likely not to vote
Howard Fischer, Capitol Media Services//October 14, 2024/ Arizona Capitol Times.
A new study by a researcher at Arizona Christian University says 32 million Christians who are regular churchgoers are likely to stay home this election.
And that, according to the report by George Barna, will likely hurt Donald Trump more than Kamala Harris.
But Barna, the director of research at the Cultural Research Center at the Glendale school, said it doesn’t have to be that way. The key, he said, could be as simple as pastors “encouraging people to vote in order to fulfill their biblical responsibility.”
I understand what you mean by radical transgenderism...but for normal folks that would be redundant :)
As for being a Christian, it’s not a buffet.
We don’t get to pick and choose what we like.
And that makes being one HARD sometimes! At least for me.
When I sink I dont say “well, I dont really believe that one is wrong anyway so no biggie”
I ask God for forgiveness and give it another go. TRULY trying not to do whatever it was again.
If I fail again, I rinse and repeat :)
But there’s no buffet.
The rules are hard for some people.
No one is Forced to be a Christian though.
Message to ALL ‘never-Trumpers’:
HARRIS IS MUCH, MUCH WORSE!!!!
In my view any self-proclaimed Christian that doesn’t vote for Trump is a hypocrite and not a Christian. Same goes for Jews.
You can base this simply on abortion if you like (which I don’t), but there are many factors.
That’s correct.
Well said.
Yeah but...I’ve been thinking this for a while....turning out to vote for someone you really like or love is FUN.
It really is. It’s exciting.
Turning out to vote just because you hate someone?
Nah..if a good show comes on or you have a sniffle or the kids need a ride or whatever....I think one is less apt to make the effort to vote out of hate.
I know that applies for me personally.
A ways back now, I really hated the D that was running for the Staten Island house seat...but I didn’t vote.
I never missed a house election after that again.
Or I could be completely wrong :)
Daniel 4:17 tells us that God puts people in power who are the lowest of men. Why, because He doesn’t want people to trust in men.
No one is Forced to be a Christian though.

But if the Churches so not get involved with politics, they will be forced to become muslims in a few decades.
A Message to Never Trump Pastors

Not interested in paying much attention to Mark Driscoll.
On this matter, he is on point while many of his career spanning critics are never-Trumpers or self-righteously holding out from lending their voice.
