Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem

Oh LORD,
Our God,
How Excellent is Your Name Over All The Earth!
We Worship and Bow Down Before You,
Oh Father,
For You,
and You Alone Are Worthy,
You Alone Are Holy,
You Alone Are The One True God Of Abraham!
Abba Father, We Are in Awe of Your Magnificence!
We Thank You For Your Glorious Living Word,
Which is Not Only a Guide For Living,
But the Very Foundation of our Laws and Our Liberties.
We Thank You For Your Magnificent Word,
Which We Beg You to Engrave Deeply
Upon The Tablets of Our Hearts.

Let all that has been Concealed
Be Revealed.

Father, We Pray For The Peace Of Jerusalem,
According To Your Will and Promise.
We Pray That You Will Forgive The Sins
of Our Own Nation,
and Lead us all to Godly Repentance.
Create in Us Clean Hearts, Oh LORD,
and Renew a Right Spirit Within Us.

This we Pray Together,
As We Await Your Messiah,
Blessed Be He,
To Set Up His Kingdom,
And Make All Things Right.

God Bless America.

From a very early age, I was fascinated by "things Japanese". Perhaps it was because I was treated to a live performance of "The Mikado". for my Twelfth Birthday. The Opera, by Gilbert & Sullivan didn't mock Japanese People at all, as it was actually a commentary of Nineteenth Century British Culture disguised in colorful kimonos.

I started making costumes, and dressing up my younger sisters as The Three Little Maids From School, and I even conspired with my cousin Nan (who may be reading this) to mount a production of The Mikado in her Boston City Neighborhood. We were serious about it, and couldn't understand why the rest of the kids in the neighborhood had no desire to be a part of our endeavor!

Dad was perturbed by this obsession, having fought on the Beaches of Okinawa and Iwo Jima. He loved Gilbert & Sullivan, but wasn't fond of The Japanese.

In 1975, I got a hold of the James Clavell Book SHOGUN. I devoured that book and just as avidly enjoyed the Mini-Series starring Richard Chamberlain. Since I already had a crush on Richard Chamberlain, the Mini-Series was tailored for me.

In both the book and the mini-series, the antagonists were Christian Missionaries. It was an easy thing to cast Black-Robed Jesuits into this role, but they left out an important factor. Although Christians may have enjoyed a time of favor with the Ruling Samurai, many of them were martyred in a particularly cruel and torturous manner. I am currently reading a slim little novel called "Silence", which shows another side of this struggle. I haven't finished the book yet, but I am reading about the persecution of both the Missionaries and the faithful Christians of that Era in Japan.

The Title refers to the Silence of God, when we perceive that He isn't listening to our Prayers.

Sometimes we feel out prayers are just bouncing off the ceiling, and not even approaching the Ears of God. This happens especially when we are frustrated, suffering, or waiting for something, anything, to be resolved. We pray and pray, but seem to be encountering only Silence.

It is my firm believe that God always hears our prayers, and always answers them. Sometimes the answer is "YES!", and we see His Hand moving in our lives. Sometimes, it's "NO!", because what we are praying for is not in our true interest, nor is it in God's Will. Sometimes, it is merely "WAIT", which is the answer gives His Disciples, after the Resurrection and before the Coming of the Holy Spirit.

Most of us LOVE The "Yes", can accept the "NO", but as Tom Petty sang in his song:

The Waiting Is the Hardest Part."

Come Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem, For Our FRiends in Need, For Persecuted Believers, and For Our Beloved Nation.

For whatever is hidden is meant to be disclosed, and whatever is concealed is meant to be brought out into the open. (Mark 4:22)

God Bless America.

Blessings To All Who Visit This Garden of Prayer.

Hallelujah and Amen
