You may have noticed that a lot of my stories (all true, unless I disclaim the story as being from my imagination) have a lot to do with two distinct "undercultures" in our society. These are the Music Industry and Biker Culture, both of which have been an integral part of my life for over a half-century. Sometimes I change names and locations, to keep from offending people who are still around, and sometimes I name names.

I am honored that God brings forth these memories just as I am about to sit down and write the day's Thread. A story that I have merely as a memory suddenly becomes a parable. Some memories don't seem to have any redeeming value...until I start writing it down. Then, the Lord astonishes ME with the connections. I am so glad that HE is Omniscient, because I sure am NOT.

An episode of a TV Series (I think it was NYPD Blue, but I may be wrong), had the plot line of a Police Detective writing a novel based on his experiences in the Police Department. At first his collegues were excited and happy for him. Then they read the book and became very angry, as they recognized themselves in the supposedly "fictitious" novel. If that ever has happened on this Thread, you have my profoundest apologies! Nobody likes to be held up as a "Bad Example"!

I have a special place in my heart for King David, not only because he was "A Man After God's Own Heart", but that he was a Poet, an Artist, a Musician, a Songwriter, and a Music Therapist, all jobs that I have held over the years. There are also a few exercrable puns that link him to Biker Culture ("David roared his Triumph into Jerusalem", "Absolom acted as if he were Hardly David's Son", and so on).

David was also a Sinner, totally saved by the Grace of God, and so am I.

Today's Passage of Scripture (from David) depicts the Holy Spirit of God, Pesent at Creation, and Renewing the Face of the Earth.

It is the Holy Spirit Who draws us to Jesus, through Circumstances, the Word of the Gospel, and even Suffering, which none of us like. He is in the process of making as a "New Creation" in Christ. Jesus gives the example of Childbirth, which is never a "pretty" process. Yet, the New Mother, holding the Baby in her arms, is flooded with joy and forgets her suffering that brought a new life into the World.

This is Creation in Motion, the Renewal of Our World, and the Life-Giving work of The Holy Spirit.

This "Life Giving Wind of Renewal" crosses all boundaries, races, and cultures, including the Music Industry and Biker Culture. (I know it because I am in both.)
