Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem (8/25/24)[Prayer]

Names and Titles of God the Holy Spirit
(Omnipotent - Almighty) Psalm 139:13-18
13 For thou hast possessed my reins: thou hast covered me in my mother's womb.
14 I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well.
15 My substance was not hid from thee, when I was made in secret, and curiously wrought in the lowest parts of the earth.
16 Thine eyes did see my substance, yet being unperfect; and in thy book all my members were written, which in continuance were fashioned, when as yet there was none of them.
17 How precious also are thy thoughts unto me, O God! how great is the sum of them!
18 If I should count them, they are more in number than the sand: when I awake, I am still with thee.
King James Version

Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem

Almighty Father
Magnified and Sanctified is Your Most Holy and Wonderful Name!
We Praise and Worship You and You Alone.
You Are The King of The Universe,
Our Creator,
Our Source,
Our Righteousness,
Our Desire,
Our Banner,
Our Healer,
And Our Provider!
There is None Other Like You;
You Alone Are Worthy of Praise, Honor,
Adoration, and Worship,
Which is Our Duty, and Pleasure, the Sacrifice of Our Lips.
Let all that has been Concealed
Be Revealed.
Father, We Pray For The Peace Of Jerusalem,
According To Your Will and Promise.
We Pray That You Will Forgive The Sins
of Our Own Nation,
and Lead us all to Godly Repentance.
Create in Us Clean Hearts, Oh LORD,
and Renew a Right Spirit Within Us.
This we Pray Together,
As We Await Your Messiah,
Blessed Be He,
To Set Up His Kingdom,
And Make All Things Right.
God Bless America.

Psalm 131
A Song of Ascents. Of David.
1 O Lord, my heart is not lifted up,
my eyes are not raised too high;
I do not occupy myself with things
too great and too marvellous for me.
2 But I have calmed and quieted my soul,
like a weaned child with its mother;
my soul is like the weaned child that is with me.*
3 O Israel, hope in the Lord
from this time on and for evermore.

I took an Online Course in Systematic Theology about eleven years ago. It was from an accredited seminary, and, if I had registered (and paid!), I could have received "points" towards a degree. That wasn't my aim, though. I just wanted to better equip myself to teach the Word. I did well on the course, but nobody knew about it except me. I think, however, it did raise the quality of these little daily meditations.
When I shared this accomplishment with my Biker/Pastor Jerry (RIP), he exclaimed;
"Hey brothers, we got ourselves a THEOLOGIAN!"
We all had a good laugh over that. I am HARDLY a "Theologian"! Ha Ha. Good one, Jerry.
One of the things I found compelling about the Course was the white board behind the Professor. In speaking of the Nature and Attributes of God, he drew a big arch, like the curve of a rainbow, on the board. Then he proceeded to write the various attributes of God on the board. Some of these were below the arch, and others were above the arch.
Below the arch, the Professor wrote words like "Righteous", "Loving", "Patient", "Joyous", "Peacemaker", "Forgiving", and other really lovely attributes. These were the qualities that God imparts to us when we walk in His Light. St. Paul even calls these Attributes "The Fruit of The Holy Spirit". (Galatians 5:22:23) Here is the Scripture Verse in the New International Version:
22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law. (NIV)
Everything on that list is positive and wonderful. They are qualities that God has, and can impart to His People. By aspiring to these qualities and allowing them to grow in our lives, we participate in "Godliness". Not only are we nicer to be around, we are happier inside too. A person who has nourished the Fruit of the Holy Spirit presents a powerful witness to the rest of the world. That's why the Professor placed these qualities "Under The Arch". That means that, although these are God's Attributes, He shares them with us.
"Over the Arch" is reserved for those Qualities of God that are His Alone. Among them are Omniscience, Omnipresence, and Omnipotence". We have discussed the first two in previous meditations. Today we will look at the third attribute: Omnipotence. The word means "Almighty" or "All-Powerful". It is so "Above the Arch" that it is impossible to comprehend fully. It goes against logic.
Comedian George Carlin, who was very irreverent about religion, imitated a Sunday-School Smart-Aleck, when he said:
"If God is All-Powerful, can He make a Rock so Big that even He can't lift it?"
My humble answer to this question is:
"If He WANTS to, Yes. He Can."
The "Rock that is too big to lift" would also be created with the Omniscience (knowing what will happen if that big rock is created), Omnipresence (actually Being the Rock, in the Rock, around the Rock, and beyond the Rock), and His Omnipotence (He is able to do Anything He Wants To Do). It would also be governed by His Wisdom, (Is it Wise to make the Rock), His Holiness (Is it a Good thing to do?), His Righteousness, (What are the Consequences?) and a lot of other factors, all of which are too deep to comprehend. That's why these qualities are "Above the Arch". We can't strive for them, nor can we even fully understand them.
David goes into the "Above the Arch" Attributes in this Marvelous Psalm. As he speaks of the Creation of New Life in the Womb, he can't hide his Sense of Wonder. The exquisite differences in human personalities are not just the result of DNA, Upbringing, or Happenstance. David recognizes that God is There, continually creating. He didn't just make the planet and then leave us to our own devices. Each Life is a Gift, and each person is different.
God can do this because He is Omnipotent. But, without the other qualities that are "Above the Arch", Power and Might are just too scary to contemplate.
Who knew that something I saw on the Internet in 2013 would resonate today? Well, God did. Because He is Omniscient. That is so "Above the Arch" that I think I'll just stop trying to explain it to myself!
Come and Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem, For Our FRiends in Need, For Persecuted Believers, and For Our Beloved Nation.
For whatever is hidden is meant to be disclosed, and whatever is concealed is meant to be brought out into the open. (Mark 4:22)
God Bless America.
Blessings To All Who Visit This Garden of Prayer.
Hallelujah and Amen
