Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem

Dear Father in Heaven,
Blessed Are You, Oh LORD,
Our God,
King of the Universe,
Ancient of Days,
Our Rock and Our Redeemer!
You Alone Are Worthy of Praise,
For You Alone Are Worthy;
You Alone Are Holy;
You Alone Are Righteous and Just;
And You Alone Are The One True God of The Universe!
How Wonderful Are Your Precepts;
How Precious Is Your WORD!
How Eternal and Sure Are Your Promises!
Let all that has been Concealed
Be Revealed.
Father, We Pray For The Peace Of Jerusalem,
According To Your Will and Promise.
We Pray That You Will Forgive The Sins
of Our Own Nation,
and Lead us all to Godly Repentance.
Create in Us Clean Hearts, Oh LORD,
and Renew a Right Spirit Within Us.
This we Pray Together,
As We Await Your Messiah,
Blessed Be He,
To Set Up His Kingdom,
And Make All Things Right.
God Bless America.

An online friend expressed that she was so overwhelmed by Current Events that she didn't know how to pray anymore. I suggested that she look more closely at The Lord's Prayer, especially the second phrase, "Hallowed Be Thy Name...". As we have seen in this sequence of Meditations, God has many Names, all of them Hallowed and Holy. What better way is there to get into a spirit of Worship, than by meditating on these Names in a prayerful manner. You may have noticed that, in the opening prayer of this thread, it usually starts that way. The Lord's Prayer is no different. It starts right out with "Our Father". While this is the prayer that Jesus gave His Disciples, the concept of God as Father is expressed in the Old Testament, especially by the Prophet Isaiah.
I have heard people refer to "The God of the Old Testament" as being different from "The God of the New Testament". Yet, when we have a closer look as His actual NAMES, we see many Messianic References in the Old Testament, and many quotations from The Law and The Prophets in the New. The more we look at it, the more profoundly balanced and seamless it becomes.
This is true of The Holy Spirit as well. He appears all through the Old Testament, as far back as the second sentence in the entire Bible, Genesis 1:2. In the Description of Creation, the "Spirit of God" is seen "hovering over the waters of the earth. The Hebrew is "Ruach Elohim" וְר֣וּחַ אֱלֹהִ֔ים (STRONG'S 7307)
If you go to the STRONG'S link, you will see that The word "Ruach" can be translated a number of ways. It can mean "Breath", "Wind", and a number of other words having to do with spirits, and life itself.
In fact, our own English word "spirit"can be translated a number of ways. We speak of "Team Spirit", "School Spirit", "Spiritual Experiences," good spirits, bad spirits, distilled spirits, and many others. But there is only One HOLY Spirit, and that is Who we will be talking about in this next series.
Notice I said "Who" and not "What". The Holy Spirit is a Person, not a "force" or "Essence". As a Person, He can experience grief (Ephesians 4:30). Grieving is a deeply personal emotion that requires sentience and sensitivity. You don't find that in a "Force". In older translations of the Bible, the Holy Spirit is called "The Holy Ghost". While we don't use this Name much anymore, the word "ghost" indicates a personality, while the word "spirit" with all its alternate meanings, might actually be less descriptive of the Third Person of the Holy Trinity.
In Today's Name, we see The Holy Spirit involved in the Act of Creation. He hovers over the Waters. He is the Wind, Breath, and Spirit of Elohim (which is a plural word for the One God), and he is "brooding" (another translation for 'hover') over the face of the Waters. So He's not just "hovering" like a helicopter or a bird. He is THINKING. Because He is God, He knows where this Creation will lead, because His Omniscience gives Him Knowledge of the Beginning from the End and the End from the Beginning.
All that in just One Name...and we've only just begun.
Come and Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem, For Our FRiends in Need, For Persecuted Believers, and For Our Beloved Nation.
For whatever is hidden is meant to be disclosed, and whatever is concealed is meant to be brought out into the open. (Mark 4:22)
God Bless America.
Blessings To All Who Visit This Garden of Prayer.
Hallelujah and Amen

Psalm 100
A Psalm of thanksgiving.
1 Make a joyful noise to the Lord, all the earth.
2 Worship the Lord with gladness;
come into his presence with singing.
3 Know that the Lord is God.
It is he that made us, and we are his;*
we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture.
4 Enter his gates with thanksgiving,
and his courts with praise.
Give thanks to him, bless his name.
5 For the Lord is good;
his steadfast love endures for ever,
and his faithfulness to all generations.

Reading this I think of the snagging present world God created for us to live in, and how Jesus is creating a new world for us right now. It will be even more marvelous.
