Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem

Almighty God and Everlasting Father,
How Glorious and Wonderful is Your Most Holy Name!
You Alone Are Worthy of Worship and Praise,
For You Alone Are The One True God,
Almighty and Eternal,
Wonderful! Counselor!
Glorious and Transcendent,
Rock of Ages,
Ancient of Days,
King of Kings,
and Lord of Lords!

Let all that has been Concealed
Be Revealed.

Father, We Pray For The Peace Of Jerusalem,
According To Your Will and Promise.
We Pray That You Will Forgive The Sins
of Our Own Nation,
and Lead us all to Godly Repentance.
Create in Us Clean Hearts, Oh LORD,
and Renew a Right Spirit Within Us.

This we Pray Together,
As We Await Your Messiah,
Blessed Be He,
To Set Up His Kingdom,
And Make All Things Right.

God Bless America.

Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem

Names and Titles of God (God) John 1:1

1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

King James Version

________________________

Some very religious Jews, in order to guard against taking the Name of The Lord in vain, will write the word "God" like this: "G-d". In Hebrew, it's a bit different, since vowels are implied but not part of the text. It's hard to omit vowels when there aren't any to begin with. While I understand the sincerity and piety of writing the Name of God that way, it sometimes goes overboard. In my most humble opinion, one is more likely to take the Name in vain by one's actions rather than what letters one omits in writing The Name. Prophesying falsely in the Name of God, using the Name to belittle or dominate someone else, placing a curse upon somebody, or swearing an oath and then LYING, are MY definitions of "Taking the Name in Vain".

It's hard to choose when asked "What is your favorite verse in the Bible?", But John 1:1 is at the top of my list. We talked about it before, when looking at the Name "THE WORD". Now let's look at the other Name in this Verse, perhaps the most obvious one of ail, which is "God" with a Capital "G". It's that Upper Case "G" that makes all the difference when we speak of this name.

The lower case "gods" are totally separated from the Name "God". We can say somebody made a god out of a hero or celebrity, or that someone lives a "godly life", or even "Cleanliness is next to godliness", (NOT in the Bible, by the way), but those usages are not about God.

When I first started this series back in February, I stated that "god" was not really "God's Name", but her it is in John 1, the very first sentence. The Word was WITH God, and the Word WAS God. Not "a god". There is no defining article (a, an, or the) in the Greek.

I just mentioned that this particular study has been ongoing since mid-February. There are still multiple names of God ahead of us. We have seen that God the Father shows up in both the Old and New Testament. We have also seen that God the Son, while dominating the New Testament, also shows up in the Old. When we come to the end of the Names of Jesus, we will explore the Names and Titles of The Holy Spirit, Who is in the very first Chapter of Genesis, and the very Last Chapter in Revelation.

This might take another half-year, and we will STILL won't be done.

Come and Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem, For Our FRiends in Need, For Persecuted Believers, and For Our Beloved Nation.

For whatever is hidden is meant to be disclosed, and whatever is concealed is meant to be brought out into the open. (Mark 4:22)

God Bless America.

Blessings To All Who Visit This Garden of Prayer.

Hallelujah and Amen

Amen.

May the Lord make His face to shine upon and enlighten the Israelites and be gracious (kind, merciful, and giving favor) to them.

Psalm 144

Of David.

1 Blessed be the Lord, my rock,
who trains my hands for war, and my fingers for battle;
2 my rock* and my fortress,
my stronghold and my deliverer,
my shield, in whom I take refuge,
who subdues the peoples* under me.

3 O Lord, what are human beings that you regard them,
or mortals that you think of them?
4 They are like a breath;
their days are like a passing shadow.

5 Bow your heavens, O Lord, and come down;
touch the mountains so that they smoke.
6 Make the lightning flash and scatter them;
send out your arrows and rout them.
7 Stretch out your hand from on high;
set me free and rescue me from the mighty waters,
from the hand of aliens,
8 whose mouths speak lies,
and whose right hands are false.

9 I will sing a new song to you, O God;
upon a ten-stringed harp I will play to you,
10 the one who gives victory to kings,
who rescues his servant David.
11 Rescue me from the cruel sword,
and deliver me from the hand of aliens,
whose mouths speak lies,
and whose right hands are false.

12 May our sons in their youth
be like plants full grown,
our daughters like corner pillars,
cut for the building of a palace.
13 May our barns be filled
with produce of every kind;
may our sheep increase by thousands,
by tens of thousands in our fields,
14 and may our cattle be heavy with young.
May there be no breach in the walls,* no exile,
and no cry of distress in our streets.

15 Happy are the people to whom such blessings fall;
happy are the people whose God is the Lord.
