Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem

Our Father in Heaven,
How Hallowed,
Magnificent,
and Sanctified
is Your Most Holy Name!
How Blessed and How True is Your Word,
and How Mighty!
How Glorious,
to Span the Millennia,
To be Unfettered by Time and Space,
To Know The End from the Beginning
and the Beginning from The End!
For it is You, Oh LORD,
Who designed the Galaxies with Your Compass,
And Mapped Out the Vast Reaches of Space
With Your Word and Your Omniscient Imagination!
Scientists tell us even the heavens are finite.
But YOU are Infinite!
LORD, remind us ALWAYS to Worship You,
and not Your Creation.
Your creation is there but to proclaim YOUR GLORY.
Hallelujah and Amen.

Let all that has been Concealed
Be Revealed.

Father, We Pray For The Peace Of Jerusalem,
According To Your Will and Promise.
We Pray That You Will Forgive The Sins
of Our Own Nation,
and Lead us all to Godly Repentance.
Create in Us Clean Hearts, Oh LORD,
and Renew a Right Spirit Within Us.

This we Pray Together,
As We Await Your Messiah,
Blessed Be He,
To Set Up His Kingdom,
And Make All Things Right.

God Bless America.

Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem

b>Names and Titles of God (Our Passover) 1 Corinthians 5:7

7 Purge out therefore the old leaven, that ye may be a new lump, as ye are unleavened. For even Christ our passover is sacrificed for us:

King James Version

________________________

Passover was a big deal at the Kosher Nursing Home where I worked for two years as Activities Director. This was back in the early 1980's, so there were some Holocaust Survivors among our Residents. We knew this of course, but NEVER brought it up.

Passover was approaching and it was my job to go to each of the 140 bedside cabinets and clean out any cookies or pastry crumbs that may have been in the drawers. The entire Nursing Home had to be "Kosher for Passover", which meant all yeast, leaven, or bakery goods that contained wheat flour had to be purged from the building. Not even a crumb could remain. Since the bedside table was for the resident's personal belongings, the housekeeping staff was forbidden from opening the drawers. The Residents knew this, and were a bit hesitant to let me into the drawers to do my job.

When I got to Tilly, she was especially resistant, and I had to beg and plead with her to let me open the drawers. I cited Scripture, Appealed to Tradition, Told the Passover Story, and on and on. Finally she let me open the drawer. The entire cabinet was filled to the brim with a year's worth of Wonder bread, each slice in its own little waxed paper envelope. Evidently, Tilly had stashed the daily portion of bread that came with her meal, and hoarded it in the cabinet. I gently scolded her as I shoveled the moldy packets of bread into my trash bag.

"Tilly," I said, "You don't have to hoard bread. You know you can always ask for anything you want, even if it's not dinner time. Heck, you can come down to the Activities Room and make your OWN bread like we do on Friday Morning. After Passover, we'll make Chocolate Chip Cookies. Thanks for letting me clean this out for you."

Tilly clasped my hand and took on a confidential tone:

"OK", she said, "But PLEASE don't tell the other guards."

I was so stunned I had to rush out of the room and lean against the wall, sobbing. I even hesitated to tell this story because I am sobbing again as I write this. But, in light of what's going on in the world RIGHT NOW, forty years after this incident took place, I think it is important to remember the Holocaust and the evil that cloaked the world 80 years ago.

Tilly has since passed on, and the Nursing Home is no longer a Kosher Facility, but is part of a big Nursing Home Chain. I may be wrong, but I think this is the first time I shared this story on this thread, even though it has been on this site for fourteen years.

The Passover is preceded by days of furious housecleaning. No trace of leaven is to be found in the home. My Mother-In-Law(RIP) used to send boxes of cookies, pastries, dinner rolls, challah bread, scones, and cupcakes to MY house a week before Passover. She cleaned out all the drawers with a white feather to make sure every crumb was GONE. Only then, would the house be considered "Kosher for Passover".

In Christian Bible Interpretation, Leaven is nearly always symbolic of Sin. In Today's Passage, Paul uses the metaphor of the pre-Passover cleanup and describes Jesus as "Our Passover Lamb".

Unlike the Activities Director or the diligent Mom, we are unable to purge the old leaven by ourselves, but we can repent of our sins. All the cleaning and purging is useless if not for the Passover Lamb that was sacrificed, and His Blood covering the door of our hearts. There was a reason that Jesus's Crucifixion took place during Passover, and Paul, who was very educated in the traditions of Judaism, was quick to make the connection. However, Paul doesn't suggest the housecleaning be only once a year, but tells us to keep it ongoing.

Just as bread gets moldy and nasty if it is hoarded, so does Sin metastasize when it's held close.

And so, we have another NAME for Christ:

Our Passover.

Come and Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem, For Our FRiends in Need, For Persecuted Believers, and For Our Beloved Nation.

For whatever is hidden is meant to be disclosed, and whatever is concealed is meant to be brought out into the open. (Mark 4:22)

God Bless America.

Blessings To All Who Visit This Garden of Prayer.

Hallelujah and Amen

Amen !!! <><

Psalm 143

A Psalm of David.

1 Hear my prayer, O Lord;
give ear to my supplications in your faithfulness;
answer me in your righteousness.
2 Do not enter into judgement with your servant,
for no one living is righteous before you.

3 For the enemy has pursued me,
crushing my life to the ground,
making me sit in darkness like those long dead.
4 Therefore my spirit faints within me;
my heart within me is appalled.

5 I remember the days of old,
I think about all your deeds,
I meditate on the works of your hands.
6 I stretch out my hands to you;
my soul thirsts for you like a parched land.
Selah

7 Answer me quickly, O Lord;
my spirit fails.
Do not hide your face from me,
or I shall be like those who go down to the Pit.
8 Let me hear of your steadfast love in the morning,
for in you I put my trust.
Teach me the way I should go,
for to you I lift up my soul.

9 Save me, O Lord, from my enemies;
I have fled to you for refuge.*
10 Teach me to do your will,
for you are my God.
Let your good spirit lead me
on a level path.

11 For your name’s sake, O Lord, preserve my life.
In your righteousness bring me out of trouble.
12 In your steadfast love cut off my enemies,
and destroy all my adversaries,
for I am your servant.
