The point I was trying to make is that laws do not accommodate everyone's beliefs. Laws do make choices for 'everyone else'.
Abortion is legal in most states. I wish it were illegal everywhere with few exceptions. I would rather my beliefs dictate the law rather than those of extreme pro-abortionists. Yes, I would prefer my beliefs concerning abortion be applied to everyone including those who disagree.
We agree. Laws are the rules society sets and there are consequences for breaking them.
We fight to change the rules we disagree with and had marked success...finally.. with Roe V Wade.
I hope we have further successes pushing back the limits on abortion across America.
I hope for similar success outlawing transgender interventions on individuals under age 21. That dam seems to be breaking. The medical profession should outlaw the practice at any age since the results of that therapy include no benefits, greater suicide, health risks and failure of desired function. However the medical profession is run by leftists and infected with deviants who have an agenda.
Yes laws do make a choice for everybody. That is the nature of living in a society. In America we have more individual freedoms than in most countries. You have a choice when picking a country, a state, a community. Once you pick it you abide by the laws or face consequence. That is not even remotely the same as an individual’s morality controlling the morality of others.
We may differ. I do not believe my morality should be applied to everyone, nor do I wish it could be. I believe in God’s plan with free choice and the ability to sin, to repent, and to be forgiven.
