I said “trying to predict”
like other items in pre-tribulation rapturism, this 19th century modernist philosophy is just false

birds of a feather i guess.
I remember the “88 Reasons” book. I even bought one. But I learned early on never to put much credence on books/teachings like this.

And especially judge Merchan
While true, belief in the rapture is NOT the cause of it. Nor does it even contribute to it.
Contrary to the misrepresentation that premillennialists are escapists who don’t care what happens and are lazy and unmotivated to share their faith, that is NOT true.
The thought that people are going to be going through THE Tribulation and likely, ultimately end up in hell, is STRONG motivation to share our faith. NOBODY wants to see someone go through the horrors that the Great Tribulation is going to bring on the earth
No. Jehovah Witnesses are though.
+1
Even then, it was not the day and hour.
I appreciate that. Thx.
You aren't one of those "the Zionists are exterminating the palestianians to create the New World Order" types, are you?
Why do some people hate Israel so much? A radical turn away from the Noahcide philosophy moved into from others?
Witnesses, Seventh Day Adventists, Dispensationalists, Mormons - all of these are 19th century modernist philosophies that arose in the USA.
In the Bible the word “dispensation” never refers to a period of time. Invariably its meaning is “a stewardship,” “the act of dispensing,” “an administration.” Read the four New Testament texts in which the word “dispensation” is found: 1 Corinthians 9:17; Ephesians 1:10; 3:2; and Colossians 1:25. Weymouth’s translation of 1 Corinthians 9:17 reads: “A stewardship has nevertheless been entrusted to me.”
The plan of the ages is a gospel plan. God’s dealings with man have been ever the same. Faithful Abel and Enoch, Abraham and Moses, were all “saved by grace.” Their lives were marked by obedience to God’s commandments. By “faith,” they obeyed So, today God’s remnant church is a church which keeps the commandments of God and the faith of Jesus.
Declaring it and knowing it are two different things.
Your declaration is doing nothing regarding the timing of the Rapture.
“it is not what Jesus said would happen - He told us that we would be persecuted for believing in Him”
He also said “the one that endures until the end will be saved”. Until the end of what? This ongoing picnic we’re already experiencing? No. The end of what is yet to happen, according to God’s word in the Bible.
Those that believe they will be magically whisked away and never have to “endure” or witness what’s coming are in for a very rude and soul-threatening shock. And I have some in my own family that I have tried and failed to convince of this. Sad, that. But at least I keep trying.
Current situation in Ukraine has a potential for it but I think it’s a low probability.
( i know, just don’t tell God)
wink wink.
Cronos the Catholic is the last person I would seek for theological answers.
Yup.
