Was author Gene Gomulka defrocked or did he leave the priesthood voluntarily? The note at the end said he was ordained but he does not use “Rev” as a title.

He’s in an irregular situation. He “took a leave of absence from the priesthood,” and then married without being laicized. The link on his name at the bottom of the OP goes to his bio.
