Now the good Catholics have more embarassment
The Catholic Church is large enough that if you are chronically embarrassed by anything attributed to one of your fellow Catholics you are either going to need to find a shrink or a Baptist Church in the present day and age.
That said, at least one of the original twelve had major problems. Peter thought he was an awesome fisherman and sometimes thought he could walk on water . . . and rumor has it was skipping out of Rome when he wasn’t supposed to. Who would be willing to be caught dead with that guy.
