Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem

Our Father in Heaven,
How Blessed and Glorious
is Your Most Wonderful and Holy Name!
How Perfect Your Plan and Your Promise,
And How Magnificent Your Precepts and Your Provision.
You See The Beginning From The End,
And The End from The Beginning.
You Are Not Bound By Time And Space,
Because You Created Them in The First Place.
Abba, Father
How Can ANYONE look at Your Wonders,
And stubbornly deny Your Existence?
And when Society does that awful thing,
How Wicked they become!
Father, Deliver us from Evil, We Pray!
Let all that has been Concealed
Be Revealed.
Father, We Pray For The Peace Of Jerusalem,
According To Your Will and Promise.
We Pray That You Will Forgive The Sins
of Our Own Nation,
and Lead us all to Godly Repentance.
Create in Us Clean Hearts, Oh LORD,
and Renew a Right Spirit Within Us.
This we Pray Together,
As We Await Your Messiah,
Blessed Be He,
To Set Up His Kingdom,
And Make All Things Right.
God Bless America.

I have always cared for the Planet. Long before it was popular, I recycled, reused, and repurposed things and produced very little waste. I pick up litter when I walk the dog and treat nature with respect. I do not, however, worship Nature. And yet, there are frequent news items about people who "marry" dolphins, horses, dogs, and even trees, to show their love for the Earth. Not my bag! These somewhat deranged individuals are delusional if they ever believe that their new "partner" will be an actual "husband" to them. The dolphin, horse, dog, or tree might enjoy the extra attention they get on their "Wedding Day", but they will have no responsibilities thereafter. St. Paul calls this bizarre union with wildlife "Worshiping Creation rather than the Creator".(Romans 1). I prefer Weddings between two People. I guess I'm just an Old-Fashioned kind of gal.
Next month, I will be attending an Incredible Wedding. The festivities will be taking the entire weekend. Since the Bride is an only child, her parents have decided to go all-out in their celebration. I have THREE outfits put together so I won't have to wear the same thing twice. This is going to be wonderful! Tippy will be staying with her "Personal Trainer", who has a male Fox Terrier that she actually likes, so she will be having a little "Spa Weekend" with her best buddy. I am putting it that way, because it sounds much nicer than saying she will be boarded. (You will note: Tippy has a Personal Trainer and gets her nails done regularly. I can't say the same for myself. She also has a "boyfriend". I DON'T. Oh Well.) Anyway, my Sisters, Brothers, In-Laws, Nieces, and Nephews are all rejoicing and preparing ourselves to have the time of our lives.
It seems to me that every culture and religion has some form of Wedding. While some of the Wedding Customs seem weird to us, some of our traditions may appear strange to others. Whether the Bride is stolen in the night in a fake "kidnapping" ritual, or Throws a Bouquet to the next Bride, she is acting out traditions that are so old that nobody seems to know the origin. What is common to all nationalities and eras, is that there is a BIG DEAL made of the Wedding. Perhaps this is because it is part of God's Design, and goes all the way back to the Garden of Eden. This brings us to Today's Verse from Isaiah.
This is another one of those verses from Isaiah that is packed with Names and Titles of God. There are some that we have seen before, such as "Maker" (Creator), and The Lord of Hosts (YHVH Sabaoth). There are also a few New Ones, which seem more "New Testament" than "Old Testament". But, Wait! This is Isaiah! He was an OLD Testament Prophet, and did his Preaching 800 years before Jesus was born. The first Name in this Passage, after "Your Maker" is "Your Husband". While guys might bristle a little when they find themselves in the position of having a "husband", it implies a relationship that is not present in Pantheism or other Pagan religions.
The Human husband has a host of responsibilities that the dolphin, horse, dog, or tree does not have. Among these responsibilities are to Love, Honor, Cherish, and Provide For the Person he has married. A lot of people want the privileges of marriage without the responsibilities. Unfortunately, a lot of other people are happy with this arrangement. They are selling themselves short. (this goes for BOTH spouses.)
The Wedding serves a very important function in Society. It declares to the world, "You are the person I want to spend the rest of my life with. I declare to the World that I will keep my end of the Covenant Relationship, with all its privileges and responsibilities. I am YOURS and You are MINE."

Psalm 26
Of David.
1 Vindicate me, O Lord,
for I have walked in my integrity,
and I have trusted in the Lord without wavering.
2 Prove me, O Lord, and try me;
test my heart and mind.
3 For your steadfast love is before my eyes,
and I walk in faithfulness to you.*
4 I do not sit with the worthless,
nor do I consort with hypocrites;
5 I hate the company of evildoers,
and will not sit with the wicked.
6 I wash my hands in innocence,
and go around your altar, O Lord,
7 singing aloud a song of thanksgiving,
and telling all your wondrous deeds.
8 O Lord, I love the house in which you dwell,
and the place where your glory abides.
9 Do not sweep me away with sinners,
nor my life with the bloodthirsty,
10 those in whose hands are evil devices,
and whose right hands are full of bribes.
11 But as for me, I walk in my integrity;
redeem me, and be gracious to me.
12 My foot stands on level ground;
in the great congregation I will bless the Lord.
