Of course, the resurrection would have happened even if Jesus died of natural causes. The resurrection is a result of the nature of Jesus being God and man and free from all sin, not because of the way he was killed.

God allowed the passion and crucifixion to show us how much He was willing to suffer for us (how much He loves us). And in doing so He saved many more souls from perdition (but not Judas).
