Paul, a single man who received few visitors, lived in a mobile home in my community. During the Pandemic, he passed away, and was discovered by concerned neighbors doing a "well-check". The authorities removed him and tried to locate a next-of-kin, but to no avail. The mobile home stood empty, and began to fall down from neglect. Finally, the management company determined that it would be cheaper to demolish the trailer and replace it with a new one. The dilapidated trailer was razed, the pipes capped off, and the land raked clean. Soon, grass began to grow. The new trailer did not arrive as promised. When I asked the Property Manager what was the delay, he replied:

"New Regulations require that a concrete slab that meets HUD specifications needs to be installed before any new trailer can be placed on the lot. We're still waiting for approval."

That made sense. Some of the older homes are placed on blocks that sit on the ground instead of concrete slabs, and there can be a noticeable settling and shifting around of the structure. While a lot of Rules and Regulations, Zoning Laws, and Building Codes exist to further the need for Bureaucracy, this one actually makes sense. Every structure needs a Sure Foundation.

The rapidity with which Paul's Trailer crumbled before it was taken away was due to the fact that there was nothing supporting it. You could actually see the house sagging into the ground, ripping off the porches, skewing the doors and windows, and bringing the structure to total ruin. There was no saving it. It just had to be torn down. The funny thing was that there was no vandalism involved, or even severe weather. The house just sank.

The world is full of religions, sects, secret societies, and cults. Many of these were founded by one or two individuals, who went astray in their own Bible Studies, had a "Vision", came to a wrong conclusion, or had a bad experience with "The Establishment." Some of these lonely folks gathered a following, and in some cases, turned out to be founders of a whole new denomination. Then, some of these groups actually altered the Bible, or completely supplanted it, in order to support their own belief system. As Jesus stated in His Parable of the Builders (Matthew 7:24-27) a house has to be built on a Sure Foundation. Isaiah tells us that this Sure Foundation is God Himself. There was even a Calypso Song about it that I remember from my Childhood."Hosanna" by Harry Belefonte.

Today is the last day for this particular verse in Isaiah. Tomorrow we will look at another famous verse from the same Prophet, one that graces Christmas Cards and is the lyric of one of the BEST Choruses in Handel's Messiah. It also contains at least four Names or Titles of God, and is very famous.

The verse we have been studying for the last four days emphasizes solidity, strength, firmness, support, steadfastness, loyalty, reliability, and trust.
