Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem (2/18/24)[Prayer]

The Names and Titles of God (YHVH -Rapha God Heals)

Exodus 15:26

26 And said, If thou wilt diligently hearken to the voice of the Lord thy God, and wilt do that which is right in his sight, and wilt give ear to his commandments, and keep all his statutes, I will put none of these diseases upon thee, which I have brought upon the Egyptians: for I am the Lord that healeth thee.

Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem

Our Father In Heaven,
Blessed and Hallowed is Your Most Holy and Wonderful Name!
We Enter Your Gates With Thanksgiving
and Your Courts With Praise.
For You Alone Are Worthy;
You Alone Are LORD;
You Alone Are The One True God of Abraham!
Blessed Are You,
Oh LORD, Our God,
King of the Universe,
Ancient of Days,
and Rock of All Ages.

Let all that has been Concealed
Be Revealed.

Father, We Pray For The Peace Of Jerusalem,
According To Your Will and Promise.
We Pray That You Will Forgive The Sins
of Our Own Nation,
and Lead us all to Godly Repentance.
Create in Us Clean Hearts, Oh LORD,
and Renew a Right Spirit Within Us.

This we Pray Together,
As We Await Your Messiah,
Blessed Be He,
To Set Up His Kingdom,
And Make All Things Right.

God Bless America.

While doing Research on this Thread, I have come across many Names for God. Every list is different, and, while there are a lot of duplication, there are a lot of omissions. It has been an adventure compiling the lists, and eliminating the overlaps. One Name that has not appeared on any list is one that occurs frequently in articles about Israel or the Jewish People. That Name is "HaShem". This Name for the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob is Hebrew for The NAME. It does not appear in the Bible, but is a polite way for pious Jewish People to say "God" without possibly taking His Name in vain. It is a Careful, Zealous, Way of Keeping the Commandment. Now, when you see that Name in an article or prayer, you will know Whom is being addressed or talked about.

The irony is that "HaShem" has become, by its usage, another Name for God.

Now, for Today's Biblical Name we have YHVH-Rapha, or, "I AM the God Who Heals". This Name comes from God Himself, during the Exodus from Egypt.

The Children of Israel have become "Bitter" very quickly since leaving Egypt, even in the wake of many awesome miracles and provision. The bitterness is like a disease, and God illustrates this by allowing them to experience great thirst, and then presenting water that is, in fact, diseased and undrinkable. When Moses throws a large branch into the water, it becomes fresh and pure. At that point, the Lord reveals His Name, "YHVH Rapha", "I AM the God Who Heals You."

To many Christian Scholars, the wood that Moses threw into the pond was a foreshadowing of the Cross. The bitter waters represent the "disease" of sin. That may seem like a stretch to some, but we must admit that bitterness leads to the sins of complaining, distrust, despair, anger, and hatred. Bitterness itself can be described as sin, because it indicates that, despite all the wonderful things God has done in one's life, one doesn't believe or trust Him anymore.

Like the Israelites who have just experienced the Parting of the Red Sea, (and Christians who have experienced the New Birth), partaking of the diseased waters of Bitterness can lead to destruction.

However, the Righteous Branch (Another Name!) makes the bitter water sweet, bringing Peace, Comfort, and Healing.

Come and Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem, For Our FRiends in Need, For Persecuted Believers, and For Our Beloved Nation.

The Greatest of These is Love (1 Corinthians 13)

Blessings To All Who Visit This Garden of Prayer.

Hallelujah and Amen

Psalm 42

To the leader. A Maskil of the Korahites.

1 As a deer longs for flowing streams,
so my soul longs for you, O God.
2 My soul thirsts for God,
for the living God.
When shall I come and behold
the face of God?
3 My tears have been my food
day and night,
while people say to me continually,
‘Where is your God?’

4 These things I remember,
as I pour out my soul:
how I went with the throng,*
and led them in procession to the house of God,
with glad shouts and songs of thanksgiving,
a multitude keeping festival.
5 Why are you cast down, O my soul,
and why are you disquieted within me?
Hope in God; for I shall again praise him,
my help 6and my God.

My soul is cast down within me;
therefore I remember you
from the land of Jordan and of Hermon,
from Mount Mizar.
7 Deep calls to deep
at the thunder of your cataracts;
all your waves and your billows
have gone over me.
8 By day the Lord commands his steadfast love,
and at night his song is with me,
a prayer to the God of my life.

9 I say to God, my rock,
‘Why have you forgotten me?
Why must I walk about mournfully
because the enemy oppresses me?’
10 As with a deadly wound in my body,
my adversaries taunt me,
while they say to me continually,
‘Where is your God?’

11 Why are you cast down, O my soul,
and why are you disquieted within me?
Hope in God; for I shall again praise him,
my help and my God.
