Post World War II United States seemed to embrace a Biblical worldview. Two World Wars and the rebirth of Israel gave Biblically Literate America a sense that Bible prophecy was being fulfilled. Even in the midst of the 1960s sexual revolution Christian eschatology books explaining the Biblical Tribulation and Jesus’ second coming were among the New York Times’ best selling books!
Churches would routinely preach on prophecy and signs of the coming of the Lord. Prophecy conferences were everywhere, and pastors around the country encouraged congregations to watch, pray, and be ready for escape when Jesus came back.
A mere 40 years later and Contemporary Christianity now derides Bible believing watching and praying Christians as “escape theorists”. We are mocked as weak and defeated. “Why escape?”, they ask. “Isn’t this admitting defeat?” “Isn’t escape antithetical to the victorious life”, touted by today’s faith and prosperity TV preachers?
The truth is that Jesus Christ’s return is closer now than ever. Biblical prophesies are now being fulfilled daily rather than yearly. When people should be watching and praying, they have been lulled to sleep by false TV preachers like Joel Osteen. Rick Warren, famous former pastor of Saddleback Church, goes even further by calling Bible prophesy a distraction.
What these false teachers fail to acknowledge is “the whole world lies in the power of the evil one” (1 John 5:19 NASB). The New Testament Greek word for ‘world’, “kosmos”, is defined as the human and demonic system that organizes our worldwide governance in opposition to Christ. All state schools must teach evolution theory as fact because the world (kosmos) demands it. Hollywood must place a fornication/adultery scene and say the Lord’s name in vain in every movie because the kosmos has decreed it!
The U.S. Military must celebrate June Pride month, promote Sodomite personnel, and offer free transgender surgeries to its gender dysphoric troops. Why? It is on order from the kosmos! The United Nations must vote against God’s regathering of Jews in the land of Israel because they are under orders from the kosmos.
David’s Psalm below reveals the nature of the kosmos…
Psalm 2:1 Why do the heathen rage, and the people imagine a vain thing? 2 The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the Lord, and against his anointed, saying, 3 Let us break their bands asunder, and cast away their cords from us. 4 He that sitteth in the heavens shall laugh: the Lord shall have them in derision. 5 Then shall he speak unto them in his wrath, and vex them in his sore displeasure. 6 Yet have I set my king upon my holy hill of Zion. Never once did Jesus tell his disciples to rise up and take over the country and world. His kingdom is not of this kosmos. Christians are to be law abiding tax paying citizens in the countries we inhabit.
Spiritually, however, we a people behind enemy lines in this kosmos. Satan and his minions control the nations and have strategically and tactically steered America to the evils we see today. We as Christians are to live here in faith, peace, and hope until we escape, one way or another.
God has ordained that we live, transact, build businesses, and raise our children behind enemy lines. Why? God gives us the answer in John 17:17; “…that we might be sanctified by His Word and overcome the world!” In other words, by building lives on His truth in a world of deceptions and lies, we learn to overcome the world and to help others overcome this Kosmos! Unless we overcome the world, we cannot be born (again) of God (1 John 5:4). The good news is that we are not alone! Jesus Christ has given us His Holy Spirit to help us, and our Lord himself is at the right hand of God interceding for us even now!
Many people ask today, “if this is true, why have we not been rescued yet?” “Why do things continue today as they were from the beginning?” (2 Peter 3:4) The Apostle Peter gives us the answer to this question a few versus down when he says the Lord is, “…longsuffering to us, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.” (2 Peter 3:9)
If Jesus Christ would have come back 75 years ago, how many of us would be saved? Most were not even born yet! Israel had not been reestablished yet and many prophesies concerning the last days had not been fulfilled. Today however, Israel is a nation again, and many of the last days prophesies are quickly being fulfilled before our eyes. Our institutions of Government have shown their true antichristian nature that we could not see before. When the last soul that will, receives Jesus Christ, the day of the Lord will come like a thief! (2 Peter 3:10).
Like our ancestors before us who left religious persecution and tyranny in their home countries, the time may come for us to leave the USA. Regardless, we will still be behind enemy lines in this kosmos wherever we go until Jesus Christ returns and sets up His Kingdom. Until that day we continue to watch and pray for escape and avoid the snares that our Lord warned us would come…
