Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem

Oh LORD, Our God,
How Excellent,
How Wonderful is Your Most Holy Name!
We Lift Up Your Name and Worship You,
For you Alone Are Worthy,
You Alone Are LORD,
You Alone Are The Most HIGH!
LORD of HOSTS,
Ancient of Days,
Lion of Judah,
Rock of Ages,
Omnipotent, Omniscient, Omnipresent,
You Know the End from the Beginning
and the Beginning From The End.

Let all that has been Concealed
Be Revealed.

Father, We Pray For The Peace Of Jerusalem,
According To Your Will and Promise.
We Pray That You Will Forgive The Sins
of Our Own Nation,
and Lead us all to Godly Repentance.
Create in Us Clean Hearts, Oh LORD,
and Renew a Right Spirit Within Us.

This we Pray Together,
As We Await Your Messiah,
Blessed Be He,
To Set Up His Kingdom,
And Make All Things Right.

God Bless America.

Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem

1 Corinthians 15:57

57 But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

(King James Version)

______________________________________________

Today's Chorus completes the Passage from 1 Corinthians 15. I don't know if Mr. Jennens compiled it to be one item in the Libretto, or to be broken up into seven musical numbers, as Handel did so marvelously.

We are nearing the end of our journey, as there are only two more numbers in the Oratorio. It has been a little tricky coding this particular series, embedding links and so forth, but I sure am going to miss it. I hope to come up with something new, perhaps a topical study or character study of Bible People. I'm sure the Lord will give me something, but, I have to admit, Handel's Messiah is a hard act to follow.

Come and Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem, For Our FRiends in Need, For Persecuted Believers, and For Our Beloved Nation.

The Greatest of These is Love (1 Corinthians 13)

God Bless America.

Blessings To All Who Visit This Garden of Prayer.

Hallelujah and Amen

Love this series. Great music to go with our prayers. God bless.

I've only got a few days to come up with something new. Any ideas? (Music in the Bible, Character Studies, Topical Study, a whole Book (Isaiah?), Minor Prophets? )

Maybe Healing and Forgiveness in the Bible starting with Genesis? I am open to suggestions.

Psalm 39

To the leader: to Jeduthun. A Psalm of David.

1 I said, ‘I will guard my ways
that I may not sin with my tongue;
I will keep a muzzle on my mouth
as long as the wicked are in my presence.’
2 I was silent and still;
I held my peace to no avail;
my distress grew worse,
3 my heart became hot within me.
While I mused, the fire burned;
then I spoke with my tongue:

4 ‘Lord, let me know my end,
and what is the measure of my days;
let me know how fleeting my life is.
5 You have made my days a few handbreadths,
and my lifetime is as nothing in your sight.
Surely everyone stands as a mere breath.
Selah
6 Surely everyone goes about like a shadow.
Surely for nothing they are in turmoil;
they heap up, and do not know who will gather.

7 ‘And now, O Lord, what do I wait for?
My hope is in you.
8 Deliver me from all my transgressions.
Do not make me the scorn of the fool.
9 I am silent; I do not open my mouth,
for it is you who have done it.
10 Remove your stroke from me;
I am worn down by the blows* of your hand.

11 ‘You chastise mortals
in punishment for sin,
consuming like a moth what is dear to them;
surely everyone is a mere breath.
Selah

12 ‘Hear my prayer, O Lord,
and give ear to my cry;
do not hold your peace at my tears.
For I am your passing guest,
an alien, like all my forebears.
13 Turn your gaze away from me, that I may smile again,
before I depart and am no more.’

Great Ideas. Hiskid suggested “Names of God” which really appeals to me. However, I like your suggestions too. Hopefully we can keep this going for another 14 years. :-)

Joining in prayer for the Peace of Jerusalem and for our beloved America.

Next topic suggestion: Jesus in the Old Testament?

Next topic suggestion: Jesus in the Old Testament?

Your suggestion overlaps nicely with Hiskid's idea, "Names of God".

Lots of the Divine Names in the OT point to Jesus ("Emmanuel", "Prince of Peace", etc) In fact, all of the suggestions overlap. Coincidence? I think NOT! :-)

This has been a wonderful journey with MESSIAH! Thank you for all that extra work. Praying with you,
